The work life balance is awful . I an now 43 years old and I spent so many weekends in my 20s and 30s working to get ahead and now that my youth has passed me by I wish I had more of my youthful weekends to myself.. now I am in a position where I don't have go work on weekends near as much but find myself with nothing to do on weekends and at 43 the time for partying and the down town bar \n scene has passed my be and most people my age ar not into that anymore and truth be told it's not all the appealing to me anymore either and I live in a city where partying and the down town bar science is the only thing there is here. It's very much an east coast port city/college town \nPost colonia city it's great for tourists College Students and young working people but once you pass the age of 35 it gets really boring when I was younger and wanted to spend all of my free time partying and going to house parties and hitting the bar scene I thought I lived in the greatest place on earth now that I am on my 40s I am bored stiff and other then going out for my daily walks for exercise when I am not working I spend most of time at home reading watching you tube or listening to my record collection all of which I really enjoy but I do miss my Youthfull socializing but 43 years don't belong in night clubs with people half their age and nor would it feel appropriate doing so . I miss being 25 and at the club and wish I had done more it instead of spending so many Friday and Saturday nights at the ship building factory.

I do love Canada , it was my first love moving from poor, war ravaged country in Vietnam. But it is no longer the country that I used to know. I've lived mostly in Vancouver and Toronto and I can tell you,If you got a family and you're not making 10-15k/month, feesl like you're just scraping by. Tdot was good when I moved there in 1984,TTC rides and cup of coffee used to be just a quarter and houses were just about 100k on average. Now its almost impossible to live near the core of the city to buy a house unless ure making high six figure or move out to smaller cities like Brantford or Windsor to buy one. Not only that but nothing is letting up here, food , insurance, gas ,taxes we gettin hosed to death here. After 40 years here, think Ive seen enough,Im cashing out my house in Vancouver, shipping out to Eastern Europe to retire.

I'm Canadian and think the biggest issue is a lack of infrastructure. Even in a lot of major cities, things you'd expect to see like subway stations, corner markets, or arcades are uncommon. It's hard to find a job when there aren't many places to work, and it's hard to afford things when it's difficult or expensive to ship those things from place to place. Immigration could boost our population so we can better tackle these issues, but our system forces immigrants to start from scratch. That doesn't provide immigrants with much reason to choose Canada instead of the Netherlands, the USA, Singapore, or some other country.

There is also a corresponding mass migration pattern of those who were born here away from the major cities, as Canada now lets in 500K, largely unvetted, immigrants into the country each year, most of whom are from war-ravaged, or third world, countries. With so many disparate languages and cultures from all over the world, it makes life utterly chaotic. The different nationalities never mix, and there is no effort expended to integrate with the Canadians who were born here. The Chinese live in Richmond, the East Indians in Surrey, and they have NOTHING to do with each other. Having traveled abroad, it's shocking how primitive it is in Canada. My advice to anyone thinking of coming here: Would you buy a ticket for a cruise on a ship that has a massive hole under the waterline?
