I live in the United States and I’ve met lots of Canadians who visited the US have come down to live here\n\nI have to admit I’ve only been to Canada twice in my life\n\nI have immigrant family, who lives in Canada and my European Background mothers family came from Montreal to the US over hundred years ago\n\nNeedless to say, I’m familiar with Canadians that I meet here in the US\n\nI am aware that many Canadians superficially to Americans look like Americans, but aren’t and I know from Canadians that they find the lifestyle in parts of the United States, a little bit too intense and experience and expectation\n\nWhat you will find if you look at Canada’s past, history is a trail of Canadians. Who’ve had to come down to the US for employment opportunities as Canada has time not being able to provide the opportunity and sustenance for their population.\n\nI would have to say that perhaps maybe prior to the 2010’s Canada was doing very well and providing quality life for their population and their citizens and the residence\n\nWhat you find out personally is that is being mismanaged when it comes to immigration capital investment in industries And worst of all, not being able to ride housing in a place where exposure to the elements could be certain death for some people\n\nThere user based national health system seems to be freeing and not being able to provide the services that they once provided, which is also something that’s really troubling\n\nAnd now I hear that they have problems providing food at an affordable amount\n\nI wish you well and fighting a place that gives you better comfort and opportunities to grow and affordable lifestyle\n\nI can’t say in the United States you’re gonna find better you’ll find certain cost of living items a lot more affordable, but we do not have a safety net when it comes to healthcare

As a Mexican American woman and Veteran, I am appalled at people like her. The fact that she would turn her back on her own family is sickening for a man who could care less about her. The quality of medical care is comparable between the 2 countries, however Americans still have a shorter life expectancy (compared to all other developed nations, not just Canada) because co-pays, deductibles, and insurance premiums keep people from getting earlier diagnosis’ that would save their lives. \n\nI find that Americans see Canadian healthcare through an American lens, thinking that we can only go to certain doctors, cannot get second opinions, or that the medical industry isn’t competitive but none of that is true. Our healthcare allows us to go to go anywhere and to get second opinions if needed. We pay zero out of pocket and never see a bill.

Why do governments always see things 'in hindsight?' Regular everyday, working Americans and Canadians saw it YEARS AGO that this would happen. You can't let the floodgates open to anyone who wants to go to America, Canada, European Countries, without a PLAN in place to address it. There have to be limits, there has to be a PLAN!!!!! Skilled workers are needed everywhere. They won't habe to go to Germany. Germany need cheap labor. Maybe offer visas and language courses to Latin American coutries. They have a similiar culture and are good people. But they would probably be unhappy in Germany.

Same story, also moved to Canada(French Canada!!! :D) when I was 4, I'm 32, been in Canada like 24 years. Easy fit, my Dad was Canadian, so got Naturalized easily. I left Canada at the end of 2020. Mostly because of Covid/Work Opportunities in engineering. Now living in the USA with my Canadian Wife and visiting Canada 2 months every year, also happen to be born American, so again, easy(easier**, still hard) move for me. Currently working in engineering, less travel experience, but I did get to visit or work for long period of time in 5 countries. Anyway, I do have similar opinion, I think the solution is a federal housing initiative. We NEED to build north and have more cities than Toronto,Montreal & Vancouver. It would reduce rent & mortgage by a lot. Essentially solving the ''where are we going to put all those immigrants issue'', then secondly, we need to encourage entrepreneurship and business a lot more. We need more jobs and be less reliant on our USA neighbors or EU neighbors 3. Better transport, surprisingly a lot of Canadian don't visit all other Canadian province and prefer traveling out , hell, I want nothern Canada & Nothern Quebec to be more like Alaska, or make it easier from someone from Quebec to move to Alberta, but still easy enough to visit family and friends in their home state in under 3 hours. ;)

Canada's GDP per capita has been decreasing for quite a while now. The only thing keeping Canada's GDP up is the very high immigration. Without it, Canada would be in a recession right now. This is why, even though the stock market might show growth, most Canadians (and Americans) don't feel it -- because the economy isn't doing great for most people in reality. At least there is some solace in the fact that, once the recession really hits, there is bound to be a recovery.

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. It's said that where we are is where we're supposed to be. I may as well take my chances, make the best of a crappy situation and stay here. There really is no better or worse place than Canada. The majority of the countries in the world are struggling with their own problems. I'm not willing to jump from the frying pan into the fire. One of the biggest reasons I want to stay in Canada is that if it does come to a nuclear shooting war it would be very unlikely that Canada would be attacked. So here I'll stay. For better or worse. The LIberals won't be in power forever and if people have the smallest amount of sense, so few will vote for them in the next election that the Liberals will lose party status. Hello Alina, I have been to Toronto in 2007, and I can honestly say, I did not like it. I have my cousin in Vancouver, and after staying there for so long. Has decided to come back to Perth. If I was a young guy, Thailand would be my choice to live. I have just come back from Koh Samui, After spending 8 nights on that beautiful Island. I have met a lot of people from all walks of life. There are lots of people setling in Thailand today. Americans, English, Swedish, people from Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Norway and so on. I had the pleasure of seeing Lilly, her husband Wat, and her gorgeous 3 kids, her nanny, and her son. The food is so cheap, everybody smiles. Not like here in Perth. The weather was exceptionally beautiful. It rained mainly at night, and once during the day. Alina, whatever you decide to do. Do it wisely. I wish you all the best. Your main aim is to be happy. All this hate talk. Canada has a population about the size of California. We will never be overcrowded. Tokyo has 14 million people, so Toronto is a drop in the bucket, and yet Tokyo is a great city. The whiners say it is not racism, yet I am sure they would not bat an eye if it was all Americans moving up here or Europeans. The mass movement of people has been going on for eons, as people tend to move from bad areas to better ones.

I wished to move to Canada 12 years ago. I am American. I was told that I needed a job and that job NEEDED to be filled. This would allow me to move there. I didn't move. Now with the migration crisis, too many immigrants at one time will overload the system and overpopulate a country. I fear with the climate crisis constantly reshaping our futures, that immigration will be an ongoing problem for the entire world. I believe countries must plan for even more immigration waves due to climate change. The Earth is changing...people will be moving to save their lives, to have a future. As human beings we must adapt to these pressures and changes in our planet. Make it livable, or else face the consequences of seeing millions of people die because you were unwilling to open your borders. There is room, just get rid of the greed. This planet , its peoples,must find ways to live together. Education, to keep the planet healthy, stop overpopulation, keep the air and water clean...stop the greed are the goals we must strive to follow.

In my experience, there has always been a feeling in Canada against immigrants. This is generally among the working class. \n\nIn the early 1990s I was doing a lot of work in Canada for a US tech company. I am an American, by the way. One time I was working with a Chinese Canadian engineer, who worked for the client company. We went to the loading dock to check on the equipment from my company, which had just arrived. The native Canadian loading dock workers were openly making racist slurs about the Chinese engineer, right in front of him. He was very careful not to respond. I asked him about it later, and he just waved it off. This was in the Toronto area. I was also warned about Chinese who were involved in organized crime in the city. Then, a few days later I saw it in downtown Toronto. Two Chinese men in a Mercedes had stopped on the road and pulled a woman out of the car and started threatening her. It was a tense situation. \n\nOften it is the government types that welcome the immigrants, for various reasons. Canada does indeed have a demographic problem. \n\nThis is not the 19th and early 20th century in Canada or the US or Europe. Today we have extensive social safety nets. This means taxpayer dollars. In the earlier times the immigrants had to fend for themselves. Even then, there would be feelings against the immigrants. At least in the US it was a time of rapid economic and geographic expansion. Not so anymore.

This should not be right because why are we not OK? I understand different parts of the world has things I’m born Canadian as far as my family and millennia and Canada were third generation here in Canada with Caribbean European and American descent all that being said I don’t care how people comes to Canada ?? but we should get the best of the best and I feel like Since they have a job since I work with the airline, why can’t they just apply for a transfer? Landlords are taking advantage of supply and demand and over charge people. People I guess are saying F you! Were in a housing crisis and there are human rights laws . Peoples fundalmental rights under the code are being violated. I would say class action law suit against Canadian government. They increased immigration from 1x to 4x in a short period of time in a neglience way. I think Canadians are wimps compared to Americans...you know in the US everyone sues. Very different in that way. Here people just suck it up. Too polite and passive. Side note Look at line ups for fast food. Horrible service . No cashiers . You wait forever now and the funny thing is you see people just stand there all the time and accept the garbage service. Its hilarious. Immigration will not STOP ANYTIME SOON. Canada should have foreseen that the country would need more people 30-40 years ago and provided the resources to encourage Canadians to birth more children. Salaries are laughable, childcare is overwhelmingly expensive, food is expensive, rent is high. How do you expect Canadians to birth 4 -5 children when they are earning significantly less than their American counterparts. Immigrants will continue to troop into Canada where we like it or not.

What part of “we would die if we stayed in our home countries” do people not understand. If my life was at risk and/or I couldn’t go from poor to at least middle class in my home country, I would leave too. So many Americans are leaving America, because they can’t get to the middle class or they would financially struggle here. Whats the difference? Oh right, they’re coming and they’re poor. Where did they find all the money to finance the illegals? No matter where you live in Canada we are bombarded with American News so we can see all the bad things that happen in the US. Canadian news is designed to be more of an informative format whereas American News is much more sensationalized so we don't always get to see through the crap! I would agree that much of the USA is quite safe but the reality is that anyone wanting to move from Canada to the USA is more likely to find their best opportunities in larger urban centers where all these concerns become far more real.

Why don't the president of Mexico stop this??? I'll tell you why, or what Mexicans man told me. He said, Biden ask him to stop these people from coming to Mexico then coming here.
