The U.S. has a massive economic advantage over Canada in any trade war—no debate. The U.S. economy is 10x bigger, and Canada relies on American trade way more than the other way around. The idea that they have 'leverage' is just political posturing. They can slap tariffs on select U.S. industries to try and cause some pain, but in the long run, they *will* lose. Their leaders just don’t want to look weak, so they act like they’re standing firm when in reality, they’ve already been pushed off the cliff. The U.S. can outlast them easily.

Bottom line we don't need shit from canada. Period. But they need a whole lot from us. Its time for these guys to pay for what they need. Usa is number 1. Other countries need us. We don't need them.

Trade wars always comes before an actual war (happened before WW1 and America waged a trade war with Japan prior to WW2). Canada should not only retalliate with tarrifs, but should challenge the lawfullness of American tarrifs under the GATT, the USMCA and in the US courts. The tarrifs are unlawful under American law. That said, it blows me away that Trump was so vociferous about the Lawfare that was lined up against him in 2023-24, but he doesn't see that excess use of the power of the State is wrong and immoral in this Canadian and Mexican case. Trump only knows the right of might. Threats, coercion, bullying. He doesn't otherwise distinguish between right and wrong; only about what is good for him and his ego. The Tariffs will drive very bad business outcomes in the US. Including, inflation, and lost jobs. The Stock Markets are already tanking.
