For me a Québécois, we missed the boat in 1995. Too bad if you don’t like it but we got screwed by newly arrived immigrants back then and we are being drowned by immigrants now. The difference is that you too in the ROC are being drowned. I am a Quebec nationalist, it’s in my guts. My family has roots going back to New France. Canada has always been an imposition for us just as we to the First Nations I guess. That’s unfortunately neither here nor there at this point in history and I apologize for it. I could blame the Trudeau government but any government in Canada would do the same for neoliberal/conservative ideological reasons. We have a neoconservative government right now in Quebec. They have practically killed our nation from the inside in order to discredit the social democratic and socialist tendencies that did so much to develop this nation. These are the ones who would literally step on their grandmothers neck to attain higher status in life. Since for me this place is where I feel the most a part of and have understood long ago that the ROC had done everything to negate us as a people a nation and the dream of an independent country with close ties to the ROC is and probably never was in the cards, I have started hoping for some kind of political union with mother France since it has become painfully clear that Canada as a strong bicultural self respecting truly independent country is a bygone notion. Just look at our military, it’s a monumental farce. Look at the insane levels of immigration, we cannot support this!! PERIOD!!! Look at way we genuflect to the US’s economic visions without questioning anymore. The Quebec people are a nation, Canada unfortunately is only a notion. For me getting out of Canada is also a reality except since this place never was one of a cash cow there only to send funds to some family elsewhere I believe we Québécois and Québécoise, with the respect for the First Nations that we have always owed them, need to go our way. So leave Canada, in fact there are too many of you already. We are not the US, we cannot afford the social chaos of savage predatory capitalism. What is bringing this confederation down is exactly that. Wanting to cram Canada, all its constituent parts into an Merican hole. No matter the price. Goodbye Canada you hardly wanted to know us.

Its not the poor new immigrants thats cause the cost of living to go up.... its the rich greedy immigrants specially from all of Asia and southeast Asia who have become landlords by forging documents and flipping houses... they are helped by their own people in the banking and lending industry to misdeclare income and become owners of multiple properties. ... if any one is to blame it is the poor regulations and the cheating prevalant in the retail banking where you can walk upto any visible minority banker and talk about forging documents candidly.. its a shame... !!!

From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. People do not know they have no biological ownership of their children, because I guess few Canadians value their children to care about their own laws. But these laws also apply to immigrants too. What money was taken from me during the move and resettlement, the government takes by creating more expenses for me than I could ever imagine or budget for. Emotionally, I am a wreck. Rather than commencing my writing career, I have been seeking low-income lawyers, reading the provincial law on Youth Protection, filing complaints within a circular system (the watchdog is part of the system not outside of it) and preparing all evidence to prove I have done nothing wrong [just like in communist rule]. Have you ever given any thought to the difficulties in proving your innocence? \nNO ONESEEMS AWARE OF THIS DETERENT TO BRINGING CHILDREN TO CANADA. NO ONE. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I COULD NOT PLAN FOR. All other complaints like the economy, or the weather, or inflation I have survived. But taking away my child, my reason to settle in Canada for a life of freedom for her, my legacy, was unthinkable. People ask me in this small village where is my daughter. Their rosy cheeks become snow white when I tell them. Canadians here are unaware and scared like cattle in a thunder storm. Many are addicted to welfare payments, cannabis, prescription drugs, and television. They all seem to be waiting in a pen of fear. I am stuck here now, with little financial resource to fight for my child's life. It is unfortunate that no one will read my comment because it is an inscrutable wall of text or too frightening. Unless someone reads it, no help will come for my daughter. (Because she is a dual citizen, the local Polish Ambassador will not step in - another drawback for having a Canadian passport). Goodbye now.

Justin Trudeau and the liberals have destroyed this Country. I was born and raised in Canada in a town in Ontario along one of the Great Lakes Lake Erie. My parents and even their parents were born and raised in that same area I am from and Canada was a great place but since Justin Trudeau become PM everything started to change and not in a slow unnoticeable way it was fast. Drugs and homelessness started to become a thing something I have never seen in my life and even my neighbourhood and town started to change too with people that don't speak english and wait times in the ER started to be so much longer and even finding a doctor when I moved to the city was impossible to get. I have not traveled much only in a car or truck and never been on a airplane but I am considering moving out of Canada too. I am going to wait and see what happens in the election and see if things begin to charge before I leave the only place I know and start new somewhere else. I have been thinking of Southeast Asia like Laos or Thailand because there Canadian funds are worth something and you can live and at for very cheap and get a very nice place for half or less of what rent is here.

Unfortunately, this problem is happening in many countries. I live in California, and the price of housing is become a crisis. There are many homeless people. \nIt costs so much to build housing nowadays, that people cannot afford to buy or rent houses after they are built. The developers want to sell the houses for market value, which many people cannot afford. There is no easy solution to this problem.

Nah, you're not leaving Canada. At the very least, you're not giving up your Canadian passport at least. You are leaving Canada because of the situation in Vancouver, where you don't even live?? I left Canada at the end of last year. After years of busting my butt and trying to get ahead, i wasn't going anywhere. \nThe job that i had worked at for years decided to outsource my entire team to another country and i was left with a decision to try and atart from scratch or atart fresh elsewhere. \nSo i booked a flight to Thailand and i spent three months there. While going on a border run to get a visa extension, i went to Cambodia. It was just a short trip, but it keftnits mark on me and ive been here for almost six months now. \nI didnt like how i felt back in Canada and i didnt like what i was seeing the countey become. Instead i ended up in a country that had been through one if the worst thjngs imaginable and the people were the most lively and welcoming that I've ever met. They decide to put light into the world and that resonates with me. \nGood luck with your next chapter. Change can be great. Its also easier to adapt when you find a place you love

They receive these benefits and are forbidden from working legally. Thus, they are not expected to work.\n\nMost people support immigrants that want to move into a country to work, want to learn the language, the culture, and want to become citizens in the future. None of these are expected to, and roughly half of these otherwise illegal immigrants are Chinese men ages 19 to 30.

The German system makes sense only for unskilled asylum seekers. 1% of the asylum seekers become legal (status approved) the other 99% stay illegal. For skilled people there are other, better countries.

Many of my friends who studied Masters here in Germany are struggling to find a job and yet they say we need skilled workers. Where are the jobs.\nFor language issue why can't you work with companies and give conditional offer to employees that in 2-3 years you have to be fluent in German and give them an opportunity to learn the language and integrate.\nBut did we see this no and yet they say we want workers..Yes you will get people obviously the world is big but not the quality one and in some time your situation will become like of France and UK.\n\nAnd though I have finished my Master and working in a company for very less salary still i regret my decision to come here leaving my well paid job in my home country was the worst mistake. \nBut now i have to find a way out from here

They started a classic Ponzi Scheme. An immigrant brings in Cash which they have to spend here which gives a boost to the economy ( when you have hundreds of thousands of newcomers coming in). \nBut the fools didn't realize at the beginning that it is a pyramid scheme where you need new people to keep joining and with time you need more and more people to keep that pyramid from falling flat. for the housing crisis, perhaps we also need to rethink a system that allows people to buy multiple properties and either become landlords or sit on the property to sell at a future date. both situations reduce the housing opportunities for people and cause the cost of housing to increase

The real tragedy here is that workers need to become landlords to shore up their retirement, this is one of the key culprits in the housing crisis - you have to take someone else’s house and force them to pay you rent because you got there first. In the end, they’ll be no retirement for either the landlord or the “tenant” - not because of disputes, but because of the real elephant in the room. Instability, founded on inflation - you can’t create wealth without sacrificing stability - the Romans tried opulence and ended up printing lead coins. What we call from money comes from thin air, but really is worth it’s source. People fighting people when the problem is really the weight of the future.

Isn't it already super restrictive and not easy to get into the country for the immigrants? Only highly educated, young people with rich parents are welcomed lol. They bring people from other countries, because there's not enough people to pay the taxes. The more taxes people pay the better educational and health system become, and overall societal infrastructure. Homeless people here most likely local drug addicts from poor areas of the city, immigrants are usually hard working and dedicated people. As an immigrant, I've been here since I was 14, and now I'm 29. I embrace the culture and strive to become a true Canadian, respecting our diversity regardless of race. However, I've noticed that some other immigrants, whether legal or illegal, gather in large groups—sometimes 200 people or more—playing loud music in their own languages and dancing as if they were still in their home country. This is a problem.

This is what Canada has become. No wonder people are moving out of here. Time to get the right officials in place.

We are living through something that is, as far as I can tell, unique in all of human history. Namely, the deliberate destruction of a people and its civilisation by its governing class. Of course, countless governing classes have destroyed their societies and civilisations through disastrous wars or economic policies etc, but I am not aware of a governing class that has set about it deliberately. Over the course of the last two or three hundred years, western societies become the most open, democratic and prosperous societies ever seen. All of that is now being systematically destroyed.

Part of being an immigrant is to assimilate into the culture and not be an outsider. To me Canada is home , this is where I met my wife and my children are born. People complain about doctors leaving to the States for more money. But reality is, there is no job opening for new specialists finishing up fellowship. So they are pushed around diff hospital as part timer and they end up leaving. Family doctors are also pushed to become a hospitalists or to just become surgery assistant to avoid paperworks and fees that follow being family doctors. Our healthcare is becoming useless because our government is not grasping the reality.\n\nWe need more highways, a real metro system for to support its growing population with integrated infrastructure. If we need to construct more housing, make it possible for architects to build faster and make it easier to become an architect here too. What is wrong with our roads? Because I live in Atlanta and my son is homeless in Charlotte and he was homeless in Atlanta and all I see are homeless people lying all over the streets! “Anti-immigrant “ has a negative connotation and I dont think that is an accurate description of how people are feeling. People are not generally against immigrants or immigration, but against a system that is ill equipped and lacking the infrastructure to meet the needs of Canada’s economy and the immigrants that would boost that. Titling this video as “anti-immigrant” is not helpful and further has to the potential to divide Canadians which doesn’t help the situation. Some people may in fact become “anti-immigrant” because of the lack of planning and thus successful integration of immigrants, but I think the majority are welcoming to immigration provided there is sufficient support and planning.

The only solution to this is government should freeze bringing immigrants and pathway for students to become immigrants for few years until Canada overcomes with it's own poverty. Majority of people do not have a standard life in Canada now. Canadian born children have hard time to find jobs and their future is uncertain now. I love how he mentions in the end about the housing crisis but does not address it. Housing has become unaffordable for most new homeowners yet we got all these landlords stocking up on more properties just to make more money for themselves. Yes laws need to be changed so tenants can't abuse it, but laws also needs to be changed so people aren't owning multiple homes while rest can't even afford a primary residence. I don't like going into bidding wars to purchase my first property when the people I am bidding against already own multiple properties.

Yall are coming to canada and we are trying to get out. You are not doing yourself a favour by coming here, this is not the same country it was years back. Zero-net population growth or very slow growth is desirable for a host of reasons. Immigration is not inherently a virtue. Not inherently a vice either. (c) From a global perspective, it is the rich countries, such as Canada, that pollute the most, both absolutely and on a per capita basis. Therefore rich countries should not increase their populations. Immigrants do not come to rich countries to be better ecologists than the citizens of those countries. Immigrants to Canada want to live like Canadians, as Canadians. The problem here is not that they will not assimilate to Canadian ways, but that they will. \n\n(2) Housing: with 500,000 new immigrants a year, housing starts cannot keep pace. The result: ever-inflating housing costs. Rich immigrants compound the problem. \n\n(3) Suburbanization: most of the new housing in Canada is in highway suburbs (over 80%), with their car-driven way of life. Once again, this is bad for the country’s ecological health. In addition, the result will be ever-growing geographies of nowhere. We will not be creating more Victorias or Quebec Cities. We will be creating more Surreys. \n\n(4) Downward pressure on the incomes of most people: the law of supply and demand is very simple: when there is a surplus of any commodity, that commodity becomes cheaper. When a commodity is scarce, its value rises. Labor is a commodity. Workers rightly do not want there to be a surplus of labor. Their livelihoods are threatened. \n\n(5) Future care of the old: the more people we add now, the more people we will have to take care of later, when their working lives are done. Adding immigrants now to pay for the care of the old is therefore a pyramid scheme. Eventually, in a generation or two, the population of the world is set to decline, and the well of immigrants will run dry. Canada should aim for fewer, rather than more, retirees – as preparation for that coming moment.

This country has plummeted drastically this past decade. The immigration is absolutely ridiculous. Doesn't matter from where. This problem won't be solved until the Baby Boomer generation has passed away, but that will also cause issues too. We need to focus on our own before accepting others in. I hope things don't escalate like it is in the UK right now, but people are sick and tired of what's become of Canada.

The problem is that people don’t understand that Canada is a federation. There needs to be coordination between the federal government and the provinces. Canada lets people in, provinces provide the services. Canada doesn’t build housing, provinces and municipalities do. Canada doesn’t build schools. Canada doesn’t build hospitals. This is a federation and until people understand the country they live in, they will never solve all the challenges ahead. Just like Quebec, all provinces should negotiate with the federal government to provide immigration permits according to their needs. The more Ottawa centralises everything, the bigger the problem will become.

Immigration has become an epically pivotal subject globally and yet it’s presented as a source of political ideology oppose to basic human dignity that without the promise of greener pastures where someone can start over and experience what other people experience, their greeted by border barb wire and intolerance, deportation, not to mention the perils of traveling choppy waters on insufficient crafts.
