Trump is a travesty! As an American, I am appalled by his tariffs on our allies Canada & Mexico. Please continue to fight against his bombastic ways!! Thinking Americans stand against him!

Every Democrat was making the point that only the host country pays for the tariffs that it puts on items. Why is Canada upset? If we have to pay the tariffs. And then canada's answer is to what make their own people pay tariffs, that doesn't make any sense. There market is so small that even if they thought they were doing a trade war, their economy will go bottom up in no time.

We support Canada. All other freedom loving countries should follow their actions and impose tariffs against all US goods.

The US is showing the world it is now an unreliable, untrustworthy partner. Canada will suffer these tariffs imposed arbitrarily by Pres.Trump, but Canada will always be a reliable and trustworthy partner. I think the real reason Pres Trump is trying to subjugate Canada is he doesn't want the constant reminder what a true friend and trustworthy partner looks like. He is embarrassed by the comparison.

As a Canadian I am shocked that very few Americans seem to care at what Trump is doing to their country. It's not the tariffs on all of the US's former allies but that he has dumped its allies to appease Trumps good friend Putin. I am looking at dismay watching the US go from being the leader of the free world to just another dictatorship run by billionaires, America is Russia. It's up to you America to stop this, no one is going to come to help you. Good luck you are going to need it.

Remember, it's not just Canada that is responding to Trump. Mexico and China are also responding simultaneously to Trump's idiotic tariffs. Mexico, Canada, and China are America's biggest suppliers of materials crucial to the American economy and are huge markets for American goods. If Trump thinks he can fight all of these countries at once and not have America receive grievous damage, then he is more deluded than we thought.

Canada, I hope Trump reconsiders this tariffs war. I have respected and enjoyed the friendly neighbors we've had in Canada. I am a North Carolinian. I support my great President, Donald Trump and he is doing great things that our nation truly needed. We are cleaning the swamp at Washington our government must stop all the spending and account for every tax dollar they spend. Born in Europe, brought up and trained into my profession as a researcher, in France, in the UK, in the Middle East, in Africa, and having been a permanent resident of the USA for almost 25 years, I can state that I agree 100 with what Trudeau stated, with the exception of one little detail If Donald Trump is as Mr. Trudeau suggests, an intelligent man, than he is simply detesting all Americans... and if is able to prove me wrong than one has to accept that Mr. Trudeau is wrong in believing Mr Trump to be an intelligent man, because even a ten-year-old is understanding that this tariff war is truly stupid and will not only damage the economy but will further deplete the coffers of businesses that are essential to world growth.

Trump cannot hold Canada responsible for individuals who become addicted to drugs, overdose, and die. That responsibility lies with the country where these incidents occur, not with another nation. We in the United States are going to enter a recession very soon, all because 51% of voters thought that people using pronouns was a bigger issue than our economy. Trump has been bankrupt 6 times and didn't know that tariffs are paid by consumers. Congratulations, you can now call that transgender person a ' he ' as you lose your job.

Not all Americans are with Trump or Putin. Many of us stand with Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Americans love their country, but many Americans are hurting and suffering and feel let down by our government. It's a circus now. We are sick and tired of the high cost of taxes, food, gas, housing, and now these tariff's that are only going to hurt Americans more.

Canada has easy fix, do what Trump ask and stop fentanyl and illegal aliens=no more tariffs. Mexico a little more complex, in addition to the above issues add in factories being built and in mexican for sub human labor costs and making top profits in America.

I am very sorry for the damage and suffering that these tariffs and trade wars will cause to people in our two countries, as it is clear that many people are. It is obvious that Donald cares more about himself and his various fantasies than he cares about other people. Unfortunately, he is supported in this by his cabinet, congressional Republicans, and enough ill-intentioned voters to make this our new reality. I hope that there will be a point in the future when life will become friendly again.

Trump's plan is to be a dictator. Tariffs, lack of access to education, lack of affordable healthcare, lack of affordable housing, lack of access to nutritious food causes American's to focus their attention on basic needs Shelter and Food.
