The large centres in Canada have had there real estate exploited by big business and wannabee real estate tycoons it like the many other schemes that came before are looking to exploit working class people and that has made more difficult for people that doesnt mena Canada doesnt have opportunity. Those who leave are all looking for the brass ring it doesnt mean the US is the answer for some people it is. Funny we all expect what we need should be ours for the taking and we think if we dont grt it thay we are being cheated. The US is a larger market and if you have what they need you are likely to get more for it because of quality competition is high. It is here too just not as much choice. No one is holding you here things go in cycles eventually the real estate will find a level and people will start in better positions. Running to something may benefit you but running from life here is not gurantee of better things giving up is when you start to fail it isnt our governmemt the people or the country its in each of us as to what we want and weather they want to be in Canada or they don't its not the fault of tue country itd still top 5 on the planet peoples expectations are kust greater doesnt mean succesd is on the American side.

I am a born and raised Canadian and have seen my country go downhill for at least the last couple of decades.\nHealth Care: doctors and nurses are moving Stateside in droves. No, the US doesn’t have universal health care but there are insurance plans and the care is enormously better. My girlfriend had 4th stage throat cancer. In Calgary the doctors at some point told her there was nothing more they could do for her and to get her affairs in order. Her father sent her to the Anderson Clinic in Houston - yes it was expensive but they treated her, saved her life and that was 24 years ago. \nIt’s common in our emergency rooms to wait up to 12 hours to be seen. \nOur system isn’t progressive and doctors and nurses don’t get paid near as well as in the States. That being said, I am happy that I don’t have to pay to see the doctor or have a stay in the hospital. \nCost of Living: Once upon a time it was good - housing was cheap and many companies had the full range of benefits and salaries were equal to the cost of living. Now these same companies have stripped the benefits by hiring people under contract so they don’t have to give them benefits. \nRents are through the roof and in Calgary there are no rent caps. Buying a decent house in a decent neighbourhood is impossible unless you inherit or make a six figure income. This, in no small part, has created a homelessness crisis that never had been seen in such numbers before. Crime also is getting worse by the day. Canada was once known as a safe country. This is no longer the case.\nEverything is very expensive and the tax very high. Plus, we have to suffer winter! Where I live, the joke is that we have two seasons - July and winter!\nI still like my city (not love) but I am retired and own two houses - one inherited and the other bought when it was affordable (32 years ago). Calgary would not be a place I would live if I was a newcomer. Vancouver is beautiful but you really pay for it. \nTrudeau has helped make a big mess of things with immigration and lax criminal laws. My beef is not with immigrants I must state - it is with the lack of jobs for them when they come, thereby forcing bad living conditions and an over reliance on the social systems. I add that the immigration population is much more willing to work in jobs they have to take (despite a high education) than our natural and bloated citizens.\nSo yes, Canada has increasingly gone downhill. On a positive note, hand guns at least are not legal and our country has beautiful natural land.

Sometimes I felt like I was reading comments about a completely different country when people wrote about not being accepted by society and so on, so I decided to respond too.\n\n\nI barely speak German (my second language is English) and I have never felt any racism or disrespect towards me. Whether it was on the street or at work. I more often met friendly people who were interested in learning about my move to Germany and were always admiring and saying words of support. This cannot be faked, these things were real. \n\n\nOf course, you will experience a lot of stress when visiting the foreigners' department, as many things are unfamiliar to you and you don't have enough language skills at first.\n\n\nOf course, I would like to get paid more for my work, or at least pay less taxes. Yes, child money support exists, but it's more of a formality as it barely covers the costs of raising children. This is where I would really like to see improvements.\n\n\n\nPeople, including immigrants, cannot understand that by increasing the demand for housing, they are increasing its cost. You can't blame the country itself for this. The law of supply and demand works here.\n\n\nThose who write about their plans to move to Australia or the USA, don't forget to share your relocation experience after. When you face the same or even bigger relocation problems. \n\n\nYou are right in one thing - there is no paradise on Earth, and you have to work. Hard and always ti achieve your goals.\n\n\nThere is such a thing as a labor market and everything coexists in balance. \n\n The only thing whether it's too hard for you or you will not give up ?.

One can argue that mass immigration from Europe change aboriginal local culture in Canada and now it is changing again due to recent mass immigration so why is this a problem now? People complaining do not acknowledge that Canada created a corrupt system where educational institution made money from foreign students, foreign student in return were happy as long as they got to work (atleast they are willing to work) for money but the moment money is taken away, they feel cheated. These foreign student are not entitle to a PR card when they knowing came to Canada as a students. In fact, we should look at the root cause of these problems. It is the colleges making money off these immigrants, it is the corporate who do not want to pay decent living wages to Canadians so they are hiring these immigrants at a minimum wages jobs. This is called capitalism where the corporate has to save as much money as possible for their share holders. So yes immigration is a huge problems but immigrant alone are not at fault. Fault lies with the government (federal, provincial and municipal) and the corporate entities in Canada as well.

Thay Indian lady that said she works immigration IS THE PROBLEM. As a born and raised Canadian. 2 weeks ago i started a new job. I was working with only Filipinos. My background is El Salvador so im kinda dark. So was going ok. Then i tell that cock sucker that was training me. That I'm salvi but Canadian born. That's mistake 1 talking my fault. But i go home and i get fired for a list of bullshit that never happened. Even an Indian walked by and said to my lead. 'Is that another one of your cousins?' As soon as i said Canadian that was the trigger word and when things went wrong. And btw not only Indian invasion. But is no one gonna talk about the Filipinos too? Growing up in Jane area was only Salvis, Jamaicans, Whites and Chinese. No Filipinos nor indian in my class or other jk classes. Born and rasied in Toronto left Toronto for like 13 years moved to Sarnia, Leamington and Windsor ontario. But i came back in May. Barely see Hispanics, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans on ttc. Just like 80% Indian and Filipinos. Not just India. I have nothing against Filipinos. But a lot are just hella arrogant and have 0 manners.

My daughter is nearing the end of 2 great years in Canada on an IEC (backpacker) visa from Australia. She’s loved the people, the landscape (mostly lived in BC and Alberta) , and working there…. She picked up interesting jobs, worked very hard, just about made ends meet, has been great. \n\nShe was even offered a permanent job by a major Canadian co last year (she was working for them on a one year role at the time) that would’ve paved the way for her to apply for PR…but she turned it down without a second thought….. for all the reasons you would know about \n\n- Wages aren’t great (maybe 20% less than australia), \n\n- taxes are high (incl having to pay CPP…in australia the employer pays all pension contributions, on top of wages), \n\n- groceries prices out of kilter, \n\n- rents consume most of what’s left…. \n\n- AND, even if you could save a deposit for a house, or shoebox apartment….what’s the point, could never afford it. \n\nShe’s seen nearly all her Canadian friends resigned to their fate of being perennial renters, of being perpetually skint. It’s no life. She’s sad to see it - coming from a country of perpetual optimism and opportunity, to learn over time how such a (on many levels) similar country isn’t like that, that has somehow got it all so wrong. \n\nIf you are thinking of “australia” as your answer, it’d be a fair call\n\n- Avoid Sydney if you can (a less expensive Vancouver) but rest of the place is “workable”. \n\n- Average wage in Perth is $100k (C$90k) and average house (full size…not an apt or townhouse) price is about $700k (C$630k) …so do-able, if tight to start with, for youngsters (like you..!) \n\n- I’ve been to Vancouver’s East Hastings St, and so can confirm is nowhere close to that in Oz. Are sketchy parts of all cities, but it’s definitely not community wide\n\n- are small pockets of homelessness (esp but not only indigenous community) but the governments are mostly (sort of…) “on it” \n\n- sun, sea, sand… and the sharks rarely come close to shore!

If that is the attitude that people have coming here on a temporary Visa. 33 years ago I had a temporary work reason to work in the UK I worked six days a week paid rent paid bills and we built a business that hired other people and put money back into the economy. I can’t imagine being out in the streets protesting it to the UK government that I haven’t been pretty to the privileges of people that were born and bred in the country and were there before me in Ontario we definitely do not have housing available. The cost of housing for a room is $1000 a month outside of the city, basement apartment is 2000 and Condo, one bedroom and den is about 3000. I’m not sure what jobs students are expecting when employment is not at all-time high and the healthcare system is already strained and failing people that need vital surgeries. Seniors are waiting three months for an MRI and students that were born here are having trouble finding employment because entry jobs are given to immigrants we are approaching UK and Ireland crisis levels, it’s not about racism. We don’t have the infrastructure.

Here in middle east, One of our helper in my work place is indian, i feel pity on him cuz his company taking advantage of him. He cant read, and write or even understand English, they hire him as cleaner sometimes hes coming to work without shoes or sometimes no food for lunch. Working 14hrs a day, salary is less and most of the time salart is late for months. My question is why?? Why do u need to go abroad with this situation.

Well lets be fair, why blaming immigrants on the current problem that Canada is facing right now?. no one taking a job from Canadian, it just that somes don’t like to work here in a minimum wages and sometimes they can’t stay longer in their work and quit very easily. So we can’t blame the companies to chose those people who are accepting the low job salary. However, Canada is a country who always loves welcoming immigrants that is why they choose to come here but\nEverything is out of control now so limiting is the best option but not only for immigrants, but try to limit also accepting a refugee as well. If you go to Delhi on a visitor visa, why would the Indian government approve you of a post-graduation work permit or permanent residency? This is because India is not a country who have policies or programs for student visas or permanent residency for immigrants. Yes, indeed, they should not demand permanent residency, but it is not the students who make these immigration programs including student visas or temporary work permits or pr, it's the Canadian government who introduced all these policies, and if somebody is applying for student visa and spending $50000 for studies, they are applying because they see potential for permanent residency and that's how immigration websites do the marketing for attracting the international students. If they had known that work permits or pr is not possible through any programs, they would not have applied at the first point. It's the government's responsibility to make it clear on their policies or on immigration websites. Now they started making it strict by closing those programs but it's too late, what about the people who are already here invested their money. They did not enter Canada by just waking up one day and thought lets go Canada. The government welcomed them and they approved them. The argument of the reporter is totally wrong because they did not know that they would face hatred or racism when they applied for student visas. Now they saw a large population and started hating.

Hi… I totally agree with just about everything you stated in all aspects of the Indian community. I’m a Canadian who happens to be living in Brampton for the past 12 years. I’ve watched Brampton go from a beautiful community to a dark dreaded place to live , and this is truly because of Indian behaviours. Mind you I have many genuinely good intelligent respectful Indian friends, but there’s the others that thinks they owe the city, province, and country. They don’t respect no one, and I mean no one. NOT EVEN THEIR OWN KIND (Indians/ Punjab). And yes as a Canadian citizen whenever I see something I do call them out on it. However; the moment you say something to them they assume that you’re cursing at them and what was ment to be a respectful comment becomes a situation where they want to argue and even get into a physical fight. Then there’s the bad, careless driving on the streets with no regards to the next person’s life. They drive like their car is the only one on the street yet always looking for someone to race with not to mention the illegal U-TURN creating major accidents. I personally experienced this when a Tractor Trailer Driver tried making a U-TURN on the city street with only 4 lanes for both direction at 4AM in the morning. This caused me to almost ran under the trailer body which would have been the end of my life. All International Students are aware that they have to apply for Work Permit but it is not a legal binding on the Canadian Govt. to give one. What is India doing to its minority and what about International Students do they give the citizenship. Canadian Citizenship is not for Free throw the Garbage out they can't even communicate.

Similar has happened to Surrey/North Delta British Columbia of the 400,000 residents living here,179,000 are from India. I remember years ago when Brampton was a small quaint town back in the 1970s this India didn't exist. Generally this happens when years ago real estate was cheap all the Indians moved in to the cheaper part of the community then slowly took over, and invaded the community. Same happened in 1995 in Richmond BC when Hong Kong leases expired with China. This once beautiful community was completely invaded.\n\nSo much for immigrants who immigrate to Canada that do not understand how Canada works and frankly don't care, There is no education program to help integrate such people to be multicultural , unfortunately this happened with the old Europeans as well as little Italy, and other areas where other European took over little areas of Toronto. \n\nHowever I think Brampton, and Surrey/North Delta/Richmond BC. Is far far worse and much more invaded by people not wanting to truly integrate in Canadian society. I see a lota comments saying this is one-sided. I cant speak for anyone else but this has been my experience as well... I've been to the Indian Embassy in Wellington, Nz multiple times to submit my applications passport renewal, police clearance etc and girls at the counter were unnecessarily rude & very unhelpful.. I've never received this sort of treatment from kiwis in Nz especially those sitting at customer service desks. I'd worked in Customer service for 7+ years and its very sad to see Indians (not all; some are good but very rare) are the worst and rudest to deal with. Because of this Indian generally have a very bad reputation in Nz; and by the looks of it, in Canada & Australia too..

In India if your kid finish grade 12 and got Ilets score 4 to all way 7 then they talk to the agent who talked to the Canadian colleges ! If u can’t pay for your kids study , then you find them spouse who has money and pay for everything only on one condition, he or she can get them to Canada on open work permit ! There was lots of broken relationships because of disputes over money and getting immigration in Canada ! This going on for long time , I guess government didn’t realize that !

Thank you for sharing! I had to leave Canada after a short stint due to personal reasons. I really enjoyed the work culture there and my salary was definitely way better than the one I used to make in Italy. Having an internationally recognised MSc, I felt valued for the first time ever and did not have any issues securing a job. However, the housing crisis was something I was not ready for. Never struggled so much to find a place to rent (and it was not even a big city). Grocery prices were also pretty scary. Canadian taxes were not a problem as Italy has a notoriously high taxation.

I used to work in a vegetable processing plant where 90% of the staff were Indians. They were rude, self entitled, and treated the rest of us like trash. I remember when one of the Punjabs threw garbage in front of me and expected me to pick it up. These people feel they own this place and the rest of us to serve them. They need to GO! And we need to stop immigrants from India from coming in.

I'm not an Indian but I'm a immigrant in Canada and yes it's true everything that you say but I just want to give one respectful advice to my friend from India. Please use deodorant and at least once a day take a shower because in the bus or at work is very hard for us from other countries and I know is not your fault but we all have to adapt in a country we arrive hope no one gets offended by this but remember that we share the air and we cannot avoid smelling other people. This should have been done years ago we have far to many people staying over their expired visa’s or vacation, migrants refugees, accepting asylum seekers etc, we must concentrate on our own citizens they need work young people need jobs, our governments have allowed segregation and it should not have happened now we have ethinic groups creating cities within cities , kids can’t get summer jobs nor weekend jobs or jobs after school no one will hire a Caucasian person it gets harder and harder everyday ho to Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, food basics , Lo laws, Metro etc, go to hospitals , other places like the hospitality industry, walk in clinics pharmacies go to any strip mall in any one of them it’s hard to find a Caucasian person working in bc any of the small store or grocery stores or pizza places hair dressers barbers ? my hid the list goes on if you take note of what’s happening in the United Kingdom ?? and some European countries and even in the states we are not to far away from such disasters we are not immune to them I fir one just dread going outside now with the gun and knife violence it’s horrible ,

Life has gotten really hard in Canada.... Local cant afford housing, decent paying jobs to afford basic living. Wages are kept low because of these foreign workers who accepts peanuts for their pay and live in rooming house/one room with one million other roommates. Cheap wages while it works for business owners it is destroying the fabric of the society.

I've seen some who are less qualified for some positions basically handed jobs and see the tantrums a number have thrown when they get frustrated or can't keep up.\nI watch this one young lad who starts at same time as I wander around the office or warehouse talking to greeting everyone and starting 20 minutes later, no-one said a thing but I did and it was hushed up. If indians are studying and are having better life as compared to so called Canadian born citizens then they should learn from indians that how to do hard work ? not the hard drugs. As a South Africa working in Germany on a skilled worker visa, it was not the easiest to get the visa even with a job offer and working remotely for the company for more than two years. \n\nI agree with the three points to improve.\n\nBut Germany is expensive, even if you get a cheap apartment and live on bread and one eat meat twice a week, it’s expensive, you keep on paying taxes or fines for things you don’t even know and or use.\n\nThe dream of living in a safe EU country is also becoming something of the past with increased violent crimes and the far right movement. \n\nMy plan was to save more money and buy a property in Germany, but on arrival I had to use my savings to pay for the massive deposit on an apartment and an over priced apartment at that. But housing is limited so you must take what you can get. \n\nThe “free” healthcare is pathetic in comparison to what I paid for private healthcare in South Africa, and I pay more for the healthcare in Germany than I did back home and you have less benefits.\n\nThe only reason I am here is as my home country doesn’t have employment for someone like me, and that makes me somewhat sad. But hence why I need to appreciate how privileged I am to be living in Germany.

This is a rat race , not everyone one is educated, not everyone has basic etiquettes and work dedication to explore the professional world, not everyone knows how to speak english properly or to express themselves clearly and they just come here as they hear or see that PEOPLE LIVING IN CANADA ARE EARLING HELL AMOUNT OF MONEY. Sounds stupid and ridiculous,,,,, imma tell you folks something. being an Indian International student living in Brampton right now, I shall how some courage, and should not feel ashamed telling you guys that WE ARE NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT OUR LIMITATIONS, we are NOT WILLING TO WORK on our basic skills, we are not willing to think outside the box. People in my community holds resentments if someone else criticizes them, they thinks that they got the big brains and everyone else is just faking some shits and spelling something on them which is hurting their DIGNITY, PRIDE, STATUS. I should be ashamed of myself and i feel really sorry and embarrassed that WHERE ARE OUR THOUGHTS OUR IDEADS ARE HEADING. \nThere are some bad apples in the basket! So i cannot fully criticize the whole scenerio ! Might this protest have something thats really infringing human rights or students rights ! But what i criticize is the thinking, the mindset and the rat race among Indians - I would criticize this even if there is a protest going on or not !

How do they have time to protest? Shouldn't they be studying or working? I wish I had time to protest about all the things that are not right, but I have to work to pay my bills. I'm Canadian born I've lived here for 44 years and I have not had time to protest not one day of my life. The nerve of these people coming to Canada and thinking they have more rights than Canadian Citizens. Go back to your Country and protest there. Find the Indian people that told you these lies in India and hold them accountable.
