I would hope you could find happiness in Canada. One of my concerns about living in a theocratic country would always be, is this choice really your own? Can you ever be certain, if faced with violations of your rights, that the choice is really yours? And, if not, can you consider yourselves as choosing Islam, rather than being forced into it, even if in absence of theocratic rule, you would have chosen it anyways? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I have the tendency to do that. I think if I were Muslim, I might choose Tunisia. I’ve known people from Tunisia and it sounds like they’re pretty open-minded, but still obviously predominantly Muslim. I’ve been to Dubai, and while I see many people recommending it, I honestly thought it was the worst combination of East and West. All the commercialization of the West, but none of the democracy. Plus, if you are not native Emiratis, you will always be second class. I’m from the US in what I think is the mini-Canada (ok, the Twin Cities) and we have a big Muslim community, but I’m very concerned Trump will win again in 2024, and I don’t know what will come of it. My daughter is part Afghani, but raised Catholic because her father’s side is irreligious. But I still worry for her, looking like she does and carrying that last name. People are so awful.

I grew up in downtown Toronto. I left around the time you had come and it was wonderful and I missed it so much. I absolutely cannot believe what it has become. It's not the same at all. I used to live in toronto and i actually liked it there, people are ok not as friendly but ok, the lifestyle was good with so many different things available to do, u never get bored there, good nightlife, good sceneries, good malls, good parties, hot looking girls everywhere, the food is amazing with so many options to choose from all around the world, all good...... but the big problem was that life was so damn expensive, i had 2 jobs and was barely making enough money to survive, that's why i left.

I would never speak for a whole huge group of people like this. I'm 100% sure many would like to at the very least temporarily move. I definitely would. When where you live doesn't look or feel at all like home for me it isn't home anymore. For many like myself this whole world is just a temporary home, and nothing compared to our an eternal home of peace. ?✝️

This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. heath care is horriable. there are to many people and the healtcare cant take care of so many people thats also a problem if you want to bring people in also make sure your healthcare is in order the hole country is going the wrong driction usa is lot better more pay, lower taxes, more carrer opptunites affordable houseing.. Ok....I've lived in Singapore for the last 33 years, graduated from the University of Alberta with an Electrical Engineering degree. Worked 1 year in the arctic in 1989 then was offered a job in Singapore in 1990 and never looked back. There are MASSIVE engineering opportunities in Asia, its nothing like Canada. \nIf you have to deal with the Canadian government from outside the country your quickly realize that Canada is run by....children. The high commission is a joke, the over seas PP stuff is a joke, its all a joke. Singapore taxes are 1/4 of that in Canada plus there are no capital gains tax in Singapore. I just stumbled upon you guy's channel by accident, because we are looking to move out of our country as well and Canada was actually a possible option. (not likely now) \n\nI am not muslim, I am just a regular western white girl, with priveleges I never knew I had until a few years ago, and looking at the world with increasing disgust and sadness. \nI completely understand why you'd want to move away from there, and even though I am not muslim, some of the points mentioned here are also reasons we want to leave where we are now (Netherlands). \nSociety is falling apart, people pointing fingers, our government is a ****show and puts the entire world's needs before taking care of our own problems. I don't feel safe and welcome anymore in the country that I once called home. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you two, raising kids, in the world how it is today, where people are using Islam in ways it was not intended and how it has played out to put the western population to turn against an entire group of people that also ultimately like everyone else, want to live their life in peace and safety. \n\nI wish you both the very best, stick to what you think is right! The drug crisis is the worst, you will think Vancouver, one of the most expensive cities in the world, looks like a 3rd world country! Drug users are allowed to do them in ANY public space now. At your kids school even. The housing supply is way behind and they brought in millions more people so the housing crisis will always be there. The govt is woke and incompetent communists too. Sorry, I still love Canada, look at what is going on around the world, and quite fine to be here, Most industrialized countries are expensive to live in, no matter where you’re at today, inflation, high accommodation rates, and food increases, are everywhere. Maybe we’re just lucky, but our healthcare around us is quite good, and when I compare to what people pay in the United States for healthcare premiums for average to decent healthcare. It’s a bargain. Never understand people crying about the weather who immigrate here, for Gosh sakes, you moved to a northern climate. What do you expect? Do you really expect the world climate to change for you and to be more like the southern hemisphere country you came from? Weather doesn’t work that way. Why did people leave their original country if they were just so wonderful in the first place? A ton of political instability where they came from and few jobs.

No but the innocent woman and children were running to borders to flee the war, can't they help temporarily? Many countries around the world has taken in refugees when in dire situation. Are you saying that these countries should not have taken any refugees? \nCome on, Saudis are scared of them because:\nThey were accepted by Jordan, where they tried to assassinate the King and take over the country, teamed up with Syria and triggered a full-scale war.\n\nIn Egypt, they fomented terror attacks. Egypt classifies Hamas as a terror group and closed the border long ago. That's not how Canadian major cities look like. Their are tent camps everywhere, and people asking for money everywhere. Avoiding areas, and people going up to your asking for money while driving in not a quality life.

I am here 10 years. One thing that was really shocking to me was how many people were sheeple right when the pandemic happened. LOVE to listen to what they are told to do! People refused to socialize and try to reach out. Young people. Well guess what? That was the beginning of bad news. I also have been surprised at the amount of people who assume all Americans are like Trump and have messed up attitudes towards Americans. I am looking forward to a better Canada. A place where maybe people can start coming up with friendlier ways of living life.

Generations of immigrants arrived here with nothing except their will and determination to succeed. They didn't look for or expect help from the Government. Sorry guys, all of the reasons that you mentioned except maybe the inflation (which I think is temporary and happening around the world), are the reasons that you SHOULD STAY in Canada. If you leave then you are giving up challenges and trying to find an easy way out. Please remember nothing comes easy and if you leave Canada then you are not going to be part of the struggle to change the mindsets of Canadian society that Muslims can be also accepted in Canada as they are, which may not come during your or your children's lifetime but it will come eventually maybe during your grandchildren or great grandchildren's lifetime and you need plant the seed for that now otherwise there will be no fruitful outcome. It needs lots of patience and initial suffering for a group of minority or downtrodden people to be accepted within the mainstream societly. If the Muslim people start leaving Canada just like you guys then there will be fewer Muslims for this struggle to bring changes in Canadian society. I think you are escapign the struggle and suffering and you guys can affford that but you are leaving many of them behind who cannod afford to leave Canada and it will make their lives even worse and the future generation. You need to look at the bigger picture and and the future. Anyway, this is my personal openion, which you or your audiences may not agree.

More over she is listening for now but not sure for future and this scares me.\nAs you said praying and being a practicing Muslim is difficult here as well. We are Turks but do not have Turkish nationality but when we go for religious holidays in Istanbul I feel completely different, it just feels like I have to live there near the mosque. My inner me begging me when we are in Istanbul in the old part of the city to stay there forever. \nI really know what you feel and want. I am looking for Muslim countries where possible we can move BUT unfortunately I made the conclusion that there is not a place even in a Muslim land that we can live the way of peaceful practicing and being a Muslim what we want to be. \nJust advise be careful with the Arab world, other than that if you look at Türkiye I would say do your research really well, not in every town there you can live your religion. Hello Saleh family, I have been following you for over two years now; I am not american or canadian but a physician and mother of two from a third world country in the Caribbean. I started following you because I was curious about the muslim faith and your way of life. I started following different muslim people (and jewish, vegan, homeless and more... basically anybody different than me) and after some time I saw that we were all humans in search of the same things in life. I completely agree with your decision of moving but was very disappointed in your comments towards the drag community. A person in drag reading a children's book is not indoctrination. A person in drag reading to kids is only teaching them acceptance and tolerance (exactly what you want the world to give to your girls who most likely wear a Hijab). A person in drag is an artist who finds joy and self worth in certain clothes, hairstyles and makeup... it is a person a human person with the same value as everyone else. It has nothing to do with sexuallity or sexual orientation... if we truly want freedom for Palestine, if we truly want to change the narrative and to prevent 75+ years of brutal occupation and racism ever happening again; we have to change the way we see our differences... is not enough to ignore and respect people who are different: we have to accept them and recognize their humanity and their worth; to value and foster acceptance and integration in the younger generations... that is the only way forward, that is the only way we will all secure a better future for our kids. Every parent knows what is best for their children and families. I live in Pakistan 2. Me and my brother were born in US to Pakistani parents. My mom didn't want to leave US but my dad said there is no religious environment there plus our whole family lives in Pakistan and didn't want us to grow there. Our apartment owner who was Christian was not letting us go. He said that u guys r such an amazing people, good Muslims, nice to everyone and take Care for everyone. It was really hard for both of my parents but Allah made it easy for us. My mom passed away when I was 18 and my brother 15 and I really miss her. My option is u can guys move to Pakistan. U can get Islamic education + Islamic environment. No matter how bad our politics, government doesn't care about Its own country and no cleanliness but I still love Pakistan. I really respect you guys for making such a hardest decision with strength. I really support you guys with this decision. Just don't mind I was just giving an advice that Pakistan is way better but it is totally up to u guys which country u like to make your better life. I am a Christian, and I totally understand why you would want to move. Western society is going crazy as far as I can tell. It seems like people snapped into a state of crazy after being locked up for Covid. I live in Georgia, USA, and I agree with you about the genocide that our government is also turning a blind eye to the truth. I just don't understand why people can be full of such hate. I am so ashamed of our government. I am older, and I worry about my great granddaughter who will start school next year. I see so much of this transgender being pushed on public school children. I just can't understand what a person's sex preference has to do with preschool or any public education. This is something that should be handled at home by a parent or parents. \nI could not even imagine what you go through trying to find a safe place to pray 5 times a day. It's easy for people like me to just look around and see the Christmas decorations that are everywhere but disregard what other religions feel like when they are never considered as a part of the community. I will pray for your family to be able to live where you hear the call to prayer 5 times a day and find somewhere warm on that I agree. I hate the cold.

Canada sucks. I graduated 7 years ago and never found steady work in my field. Best I got was a half year contract. And then I learned that even if you make 5500$ a month, your gross pay will look more like 3200$ once the government takes its cut. And for what??? What do they actual provide to Canadian citizens? NOTHING. The only people getting anything from the government are drug addicts, refugees, and boomers. Canada is a country where everything is expensive and you get paid shit. The people suck, the culture sucks, the weather sucks...I cannot think of a single upside of living here (except maybe that it's not a religious shithole and women aren't treated like cattle).

Excellent video. I am a 29 years old Canadian with high education. I make 125K/year and yet after 2-3 years of looking actively I still can't manage to buy a house near the city as a first time buyer. I made many offers but lost every time. The demand is so high and the offer so low that many people bid way above the asking price even though the prices are sky high. Most of those people sold their previous house for a lot more than they bought it many years ago and therefore, are able to do so. First time buyers like myself don't have this advantage and the ones with lower salaries might never have the chance to have a house except if they move far from the city. Our government does not slow down on immigration because there is a labor shortage due to the older generation retiring but they don't build enough houses and allowed foreign investors for too long which results in the housing crisis we are currently in. My father bought a decent house near the city for the equivalent of 2 years of his gross salary at the time... Now the equivalent is more than 4-5 times my gross salary even though I make more than him at the time (taking inflation into account). Our healthcare and education systems are falling apart as well. Both are currently on strike in the province I live in due to terrible work conditions and salaries from our government. The cost of living has increased considerably in the last few years as well, especially the food even though the companies are making record net profits this year. Yeah... Canada is not doing well right now.

They show a lot of grocery stores when they talk about monopolies, but it’s in everything. When I was getting my internet set up I found out only one of the two main companies in Canada is provided for my area (they do this on purpose). So I pay over $100 a month just for internet. And literally have no other cheaper option other than living with no internet. (I’m in a small town so there aren’t even any cafes or anything to pop into). And live alone. Another thing, we’ve got a big country, and I live in a rural community, so most of my colleagues drive at least 45 minutes to get to work, one way, because they’d rather live in the city. And this is NB so you can’t take public transportation like trains to get here, you’re driving on the highway to get here. Since the pandemic houses have more than doubled, I did get a raise, but it was I think 4% over the last three years. So cost of living is definitely increasing at a much higher rate. Before the pandemic I could buy a week of groceries for one person for $60, now it’s more than $100 for a week easily, and that’s with looking for bargains and reducing the amount of meat and fresh produce I eat. It can’t keep getting worse, because people already can’t afford it, so something is going to have to change before everything breaks completely.

The only reason Gaza and the West Bank exist in its present form is because Israel wants to live in peace with the people in THEIR land. Personally I think Israel should invade Lebanon and forceably move all Palestinians to that area. They could do the same thing in Syria. I lived and worked in TO in a few areas for several years. I left in 2016. I am glad I left before it got bad. I started witnessing more racist comments on subway and platforms were becoming too crowded. After 30 plus years I moved to live in a rural area before moving to live in a similar setting to where I grew up in Oakville. I do love TO and it has so much to offer. I worked downtown and just could not keep up. I spent my spare time walking along the beaches especially Scarborough Bluffs and skating at Harbourfront on a weekday. These are fond memories that I will cherish.\n\n I heard that the shelters were over crowded and unhealthy places. I met a nice man in my building who was successful, lived on street for 13 years before successfully integrating into low-income housing. I learned the most from his stories and met some of the most fabulous people in the worst buildings. I had to leave for safety and mental health reasons. I could not see myself remaining in TO without support. \n\n I made the right move in the right time. Not everyone can afford city living. My quality of life and mental health are better but I cherish the friendships I made in TO. My Grandfather was a Mcleod and I am amazed how much you look like my mother when she was younger. She modeled for Ford and volunteered for a local Vet and hospital. I wish you well. I appreciate your honesty. Since I left, I have driven by TO on 407 a few times. I just didn't have the right mix of education and work to survive in the city any more.
