Mass deportation also includes Africans, Haitians, Arabs, Egyptians, etc. Do you think an ICE officer will cares enough to differentiate between a Black American born in the US and say a Black Honduran ?? What about families who are mixed race and one parent is US born while the other isn’t? Then what? This is disheartening... this means that my husband will never be able to live with us. My children will grow up without their father, and for some reason, Canadians are OK with Canadian children growing up in a broken home. It's going to take 35 months, for my husband to be able to immigrate to this country. That's 2 1/2 year that my kids won't have a dad, our son especially is suffering. He has a serious disease, is often hospitalized, and I'm a married woman living as a single mother. Now I'll need to rely on the government for more financial support, and my 6 year old is actually depressed because his dad is years away from being with him. I work full time, have a great home, and a side business. But now I'll need to depend on meds and disability support to take care of my child, when he has an ablebodied father that can support us, especially when our child is in one of his regular hospitalization. You all are cruel.

I'm Eastern European immigrant myself growing up here I love the diversity going to school amd meeting people from different walk of life. I've lived here 6 years and can't wait to leave. Salaries are just enough to get by. I work full-time as an analyst and am looking for a minijob just to save money, which I already live quite modestly. It's easy to come across nasty unfriendly people, neighbors, service people, people in government agencies. I hate people staring in the most unfriendly manner or givng attitude for no reason other than they are nasty people. Don't get me wrong, there are nice people as well, but the bad experiences outweigh the good. Beauracracy is overbearing, personalities are underwhelming, the food scene is underwhelming, learning German is a big burden when you work a full-time job (and now I need a minijob too??). The country seems like it wants to diminish the human spirit and ambition. I definitely regret moving here. Many housing companies are over charging rent. I found out the company, Deutschewohnen, who owns my apartment was overcharging me by nearly double!! I had to go through a year long court procession to get them to lower it to the legal price which I won. And now they sent me a letter last month saying they are raising my rent, which is illegal and I have to go through ANOTHER court battle with them. Of course it is exhausting to try and find another apartment. Some people search up to a year. What a joke. And not to mention the dating scene. I've been single the entire 6 years and I'm quite an outgoing, friendly, loveable person. Dating Germans comes with own weird experiences and I refuse to give them a chance anymore, for my own mental health. If you're POC, it's not uncommon to come across strange sexualizations and general lack of understanding other's cultures. A couple years ago I was attacked by 8 men while walking home at night. I ended up in the hosopital and there was an investigation opened. The police asked me why they attacted me, which I didn't know since it was unprovoked. They just followed me for awhile, surrounded me and started beating me. The police said it was probably because I'm Asian. Meanwhile, I'm not even Asian!!! I'm Latino. ??‍♂This is the type of ignorance POC have to deal with in Germany. Also, I only have 1 German friend and all my other friends are immigrants (which I love) but this poses it's own frustrations because many people move here, then move away after a few years when they learn they can have a more fulfilling life elsewhere. So keeping long term day-to-day friends can be a challenge. The entire system is exhausting and there's not enough balance to bring joy to my life to want to stay. When I lived in NYC, an African American aquaintance had just moved there after living in Berlin for 8 years. She warned me not to move here because I will never feel I belong. I didn't listen. That was a big mistake. Germans can have Germany. I'll find my joy elsewhere. End of rant. haha

A Ukrainian immigrant here. Absolutely in love with beautiful canadian nature, cute little houses, especially townhouses in toronto, just so wholesome. As for life, you gotta be some sort of specialist like a doctor, or a proper construction worker, or a truck driver to have a decent life that goes beyond just getting by and eking out an existence. On my own i can make enough money for food and rent, but thats about it, and im happy about it, really, i get to be alive thanks to canada, but i really hope i could move out of here as soon as it becomes safe, or just move to a cheaper country thats a decent distance away from russia. I ended up being unemployed and i do feel like im in quite a real danger on eventually becoming homeless if i dont manage to procure a job, and you know how the job market is now. As for health care, i simply dont have access to it, at least i dont have a family doctor and have been trying for a while to get one. I haven't tried walking ins yet since i prioritize food over health now but i might someday. I just hope that whatever sickness bugs me is minor, i cant do anything about it. My teeth hurt too, but i cant afford a dentist, and ive found one Clinique in toronto that helps immigrants fix their teeth for cheap, they can help you with three teeth in total, and i've used up one of it, and saving the rest for real emergencies. I cant eat anything except for real soft food, and i know im not gonna get any help i could afford any time soon.\nOnce i get a job i will be saving as much money as i can to leave Canada, i don't know where yet but i'm doing my research and hopefully will find a place, and if not well, sucks to suck. It's hard for everybody out there, i'm just one of the millions if not billions who go through that.\n\nAlso I don’t think ‘nobody wants to live in Canada’ is entirely accurate. I'm a descendant of generations of migrants, going from one place to another (not Roma/Sinti but German/Polish ?) Migration is HARD. But of my many cousins, most have continued migrating, and my brother has moved from Germany to Switzerland, too. I'd like to go to Denmark, but I'm hesitant to make life more difficult than it already is, with child and pet and single. But it seems like, once you're uprooted, it may never stop.
