This is very biased in favor of Canada. However, I strongly agree with your viewpoint on gun control. Canada comes out on top. When it comes to Healthcare, you omitted that Canada is experiencing a shortage of doctors and the wait time for care is longer and longer. More doctors are moving to the US for better salaries. For education, the US system made it such that with a Bachelor degree you can get a good job. A Masters degree isn't required although good. Meanwhile, in Canada competition in job market makes it that employers hire over qualified employees. With a Masters degree you're likely to occupy a Bachelor degree position. I personally don't see this as a good thing. When It comes to political and religious diversity, it depends on personal preferences. Some people like diversity, others don't. I personally like conservative states. A 2021 report indicates that thirty thousand new immigrants left Canada due to expensive living conditions. At the end of the day, it is like the saying there's no accounting for taste.

For me, I live in Vancouver, but when I'm done college, I'm hoping to find a job in Seattle and immigrate there. They recently opened up a Pokemon HQ there, Nintendo's hiring, Seattle's the HQ of Bungie, the maker of the Destiny games and much more! I feel like it's easier to find a job in the US than in Canada. In fact, my college instructor said so. There's more jobs there than in this small town. I'm heading towards SFU and I'm hoping to land a few coops, including one in Seattle to see if I like it there. And no, I do not care about healthcare, mass shootings or politics. The chances of you randomly being shot is about the same as getting ran over by a car. For healthcare, it's usually provided by your employer. But otherwise, you can buy it yourself as there's many options to choose from. Some of them are really good, but people are just overgeneralizing everything. My hope is that employment will eventually lead to permanent residency. Then, I can go buy a house in Texas, Florida or Colorado where it's much cheaper than Vancouver

The aim of Australia or Canada is not to garantee a good paid job to all the students that come from Africa. Many african students stay in Canada after university despite the fact that they cannot find a job and they are very sad about it. Bull$hit. I know a number of my African friends who live in Edmonton and they are all employed of great jobs, and have good lives there- and no matter where you are discrimination is everwhere. Oh my goodness...Canada seems to have run out of red carpets...Canada has problems. It has racism. It has sexism, yet with only high school four of my sisters became bank management and executives...and we have a blue-collar mixed-race heritage. But despite that Canada has a tiny tiny economy compared to its immediate neighbour and still delivers an impressively comparable lifestyle...plus a health care system that struggles to find a way to be universal in our post-pandemic world...that actually saved my American-immigrant husband's life. If you can understand the sheer competitiveness of trying to get a job in this marketplace then you might understand that despite Canada's best efforts it's not the land of Oz. If other countries are better sorted and have your dream jobs waiting by all means have that good life where you can. If you want to work towards building a future in a relatively safe and free nation...and that will mean taking part in ironing out age old problems...maybe Canada is for you.

Can someone tell me if Canada is a good place to move for a couple of years? I'm from the UK but lived in Spain for most of my life. The reason I want to leave Spain is because the average salary is low and job security I.E work contracts are all terrible unless you're in a big city like Madrid or Barcelona. Plus I live in a tourist/ retired destination so work here is seasonal as we are only busy over the summer time and trying to meet people around my age 20, 30s is difficult. I've heard so many good things about Canada from people I know but looking into some more I'm seeing that there's a big financial issue for those who plan to move over as the taxes are very high. I'm just looking to come over for a couple of years, save some money and then move back to the UK. If anyone that has travelled to Canada for a few years could let me know what its like now that would be great ?.

Canada didn't do better than the US in the 2008 recession though. We took out a bigger bailout per capita. It's a common misconception that we did better because our media is state run and did a very good job focusing attention away from Canada's issues and onto the US's.

As a Canadian that works closely with the government, the other issues that the tax rate in Canada is very high. Even you get a good paying job or a profitable business, a significant portion of your paycheck/profits goes to the government. There is also a lot of bureaucratic and legislative hurdles to overcome and too little incentives when trying to start or develop a business. For example, to build a high density residential building, it takes around 1 - 2 years of planning and studies, then another year to get all the permits and government paperwork, then 2 years of construction. It takes around 5 years to build a new residential building. Canada's housing affordability problem is not just simply cause by people willing to buy property, it is also cause by a significant shortage of housing supply due to all these regulations and hurdles. If you can't find affordable housing and your income is also heavily tax, a lot Canadians will go south to the US where things are a lot more affordable.

As an immigrant to Canada who's built a successful business here, I do feel the urge to defend Canada when I see these sorts of videos.\n\nThings are hard right now - inflation is really crippling and I don't know how the housing prices are still holding up despite rising interest rates. I also agree the red tape is absolutely bonkers.\n\nThe country needs to develop more of a pro-business mentality. I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

The largest employer in Canada is the government. That tells you all need to know about innovative and entrepreneurship. The Canadian dream is to work for the federal government, get a good pension and get an easy worry free job as a public servant.

it's funny I moved to Canada a little over a year ago and I want to move back to Australia for some of the reasons you want to leave Australia and more. Housing affordability here is a pipe dream unless you like living near mountains and want a laid back life like the life in Perth, in Calgary. But Calgary's job market is not great and that pretty much extends to every province except Ontario and BC. Living cost in Canada is very high... compared to what I experienced in AU, this is more expensive than living in Sydney. (I live in Toronto but this extends to Vancouver as well.) The healthcare system is weak, inefficient and inconvenient. Bureaucracy is again very slow, inconvenient and in some cases so backwards. Banking is not great, super inconvenient, not people-centric, inefficient and very much backward imo.. work-life balance or quality of life is way better in AU. Infrastructure development is slow and not great at all for a world-class country and personally, I expected better from Toronto.. (I do understand why it is the way it is right now, some justified reasons but some not so much) Things I do give props to CA... Diversity and inclusiveness is not just marketing slogan like in AU.. I don't feel like an outsider here... Its incredible. Job market is here much better than in AU. If you're moving from a country like AU, you will feel how capitalism here is made to make more money out of you every step of the way. But also, you will see how you can use that system to make alot of money. I think Canada is a great place to live if you're an entrepreneur or business person and making money is a primary requirement. But if you're someone who loves quality of life and work-life balance and want to probably own a good house, right now CA is not there. Also this doesn't mean CA isn't great, its fantastic... but compared to AU, canada comes short in many fronts. Also I love the weather here even if we have a pretty long winter.

The wage of a miner in the US is $38,000 p.a. and they have to live on site permanently. I'm sure you know all the stuff about employment conditions, healthcare and crime over there but Canada is a different proposition. Work in Oil & Gas in Canada can be good but I remember when the oil price sank and a lot of it became unprofitable, a lot of Aussies were the first to lose their jobs over there and had to come back. The cold will also be another interesting factor. Sincerely wish you the best though and that you end up somewhere where you feel happy. Who knows - it could still be Perth or somewhere in Australia.

We're polite and nice until we're taken advantage of or treated like an idiot! Kindness is important, but doing what's morally right is more important to me personally! So if that means me speaking up or calling out bs when I see it, I will! I do believe in giving each person their own clean slate. I adjust according to the person! That just means I don't assume anything about a person based on race, the job they have, the car they drive, how they look, the clothes they wear. Those things have no bearing on how I choose friends! It's all about the content of one's character! I do keep to myself most of the time but strive to be kind and polite when I'm around others! But everyone is different. You will run into aholes anywhere you go! Canada is NO EXCEPTION. You have to be careful still about how you move. For example as an indigenous woman I don't go out alone after dark. You can't just trust anyone and leave yourself vulnerable because you never known what someone's intentions are. You can find people that are so unkind. You can also find some of the nicest people in the world here. I imagine the same can be said about any country. Our government certainly doesn't represent us personally. We all have our own personalities and lives! And I don't judge others based on their race religion or their government at home! When I was a kid there was no shortage of people letting me know I'd never amount to anything. So yeah you can find aholes anywhere you go! Canada's healthcare is not all that. Atleast in Ontario. There is no dental coverage, no eye coverage. But its good for people who old or have critical illnesses since its all covered. \nCanada also has a very weak job market than the U.S. There is almost no opportunity for highly skilled labor. The U.S is a world leader in technology and industry and has more rewarding opportunities for talented people. As a Canadian who has lived in the U.S. I must agree Americans are more willing to be friends with strangers. I also think the U.S is far more culturally diverse but better assimilated. The U.S is a better place if you are talented and hardworking. Canada is a better place if you are a min wager.

F CANADA, im in BC canada on disability for life due to immune system problems. past 10 years ive tride getting healthy and started feeling good, i found a good job last summer, making 29$ hr full time! i was very excited and ready to move on in life from the system, 3 months into it, i start doing the math... im losing 22% off each check for taxes twice per month + union dues, + they charging me for cleaning service for my uniform 5$ per check THEN i pay 12% tax on all good i buy.. SO im losing almost 40% of my monthly income after fees and taxes... NOW im working so i need a car to be at work on taime daily.... this is another 15-20% monthly expense.. YEAHHH RIGHT i am not working myself to the bone to work just to be as POOR as i was on Disability. i quit the job as soon as i paid off the car, sold the car now im my own boss again , i have no need for a clock, i sleep until i want, eat when i want, and go where i want 7 days a week. You have to be a total FOOL to work in this country with these amount of fees and taxes, and please dont say taxes are high becuase of the 2% on welfare, take a look at the BILLIONS of dollars your foolish leader Trudeau is giving to Ukriane.

Canada deserves to self-destruct.

I moved to Canada in 2012. I used to love Canada as even with $11 per hour job was more than enough to survive (during studies, part time job). I used to live happy life. But, since Liberal government was elected in 2015, things are going crap. Just between 2016 when I signed lease of 1+1 apartment for 1140$, in 2019 it was getting rented for $2400. Prices went up for house and lots of things. Liberals had messed up affordability that most people in Toronto region are living paycheque to paycheque. On top of it Carbon tax in hide of saving environment which literally not working out, is killing Canadians. \n\nAfter living in Canada for 11 years, I don’t see this country has any good future overall. Our banking to technology sector everything is outdated. World is moving so fast, Canada is not able to catch up. I am looking for easy was to get green card of USA, the country which I hated, it seems USA is far better. I have many relatives in USA, I asked around and it broke lots of my stereotypes about USA which I had developed living in Canada and from Canadians. Even met few people who lived in Canada for 10-15 years and moved to USA and living there for last 5-10 years. Worst decision of my life was choosing Canada in 2012 for easy immigration. My classmates who chose USA and moved there in 2012 are in much better position career wise as well salary wise and they files are also in progress. Living lavish life with great weather, while Canada is depressive as hell.

Black population now accounts for Only approximately 3.5% of Canada's total population. Thus, not enough Black people in Canada to support evidence of Job Income Inequality compared to White Canadians. \n\nAnd that alone should make one question the credibility of the Data by statistics Canada on Income equality for Black people vs White people. Moreover, its illegal in Canada to pay Anyone less than someone else ( regardless of Race, Gender, ....etc ) for the Same Job / profession and same amount of hours worked. This Law was established decades ago in Canada as well is in the United states.\n\nFurthermore, there are other variables that determine acquiring a Good paying job .i.e. Job Experience, Education level, ...etc. \n\nSo to reiterate, since the lack population now accounts for Only approximately 3.5% of Canada's total population , the Job Income Inequality of the Black population compared to White Canadian population cannot be reasonably measured due such a small population. And to suggest racism against the Black population based upon such weak data is laughable and demonstrates a lack of critical thinking.\n\nLastly , forms of racism exist in ALL countries, granted. However, Canada is well renowned for being one the least racist countries in the World compared to most Countries as well as one of the most Obliging & Tolerant. Albeit, It's the last a decade or so of perpetuated Propaganda that has deluded people to think racism against Minorities is rampant , when it seriously isn't.\n\nMatter of fact, Canada over excessive Generosity and Tolerance on many levels , \nEconomically, Immigration Influx and Socialism has already Commenced Canada's inevitable downfall towards increasingly Poor Quality of life overall for most people, Now and in near coming Future. Although, most people prefer not to Acknowledge nor Prepare for it.
