My mother's background is ambiguous based on looks. She's actually English and Irish but she has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and naturally tanned skin. It's very unusual for someone of British ancestry, but family photo's of Mum's family show the same colouring back to her great-great-grandfather. In Britain, as a blonde, blue-eyed daughter, I've watched my whole life as people treated her differently to other relatives. She's quiet, polite and her father was a police chief inspector, she strictly obeys the law. I've overheard people refer to her as a 'paki' and all sorts of derogatory things. When we went to the US, it wasn't better. They were rude to her until she spoke and then reacted with shock. Some admitted they thought she was Mexican. \nSo, is it any easier for her in Canada? When she visits me here, she is mistaken for an aboriginal. It isn't any easier for her here. And pettiness of it all. When they hear her accent, suddenly it's like she's their best friend. \nThe sad/funny thing is, often I can't find customer service more than half the time I'm out. When I'm with my mother, there is ALWAYS someone around to ask for help.

The thing is, Mexico is not in conflict for its people to seek asylum somewhere else. It is not good to just jump ship to any country and fight whoever so that you stay there. You struggled. You spent so much money on lawyers, when immigration laws don't approve of anyone going into US illegally and then file asylum. Yes I ran into racial profiling when I wanted to ask why CBC is biased and won't report fairly. Being white and male, I was told that my opinion is invalid, and in spite of the taxes I pay for their wages, I don't have any say. Moreover, because I am male, CBC's supreme leader Trudeau has dictated I am not allowed any sort of platform. This is an important issue! Why do you think these sterotypes are so prevalent CBC? Crime statistics? Day to day crime by certain groups? CBC hates the question why because it conflicts with their bias as mandated by identity politics. What I would like to know is why in the case of roxum road crossing we never saw any US officials there stopping people from illegally leaving the US hmmm! We had the RCMP there all be it as bellboys but they were a least present. I am glad I love Canada and the fact I dont want to leave, this is tought o watch because as a Canadian with Canadian values when we see people in trouble this nation has always offered help to others less fortunate. I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

You're lucky if you can even find a LEGAL small 1 bedroom basement for $800/month. Its not common. \nA car? Brampton has the highest insurance premium in all of Canada. \n\nDon't get me wrong. I LOVE Canada, I couldn't see myself living anywhere else because it is my home. \nHowever, when you compare it to india, in India you're only paying for electricity, gas, and food that you need to buy at the grocery store. \nBut if you really needed to budget and save money, food is LITERALLY growing in your backyard! All the veggies, fruits, etc. You just need to buy the grains and proteins! \n1.5 lakhs sounds great per month. But 1.5 lakhs is realistically not enough to live in Canada. \n\nDon't believe me? Google cost of living in Canada. Google how much a family of 4 would need to make to survive per month in Canada. Also, make sure to check out CANADIAN WEBSITES for this data. (.ca sites or try Global News or CTV news since they have this data)\n\nThe problem is everyone that comes to Canada always comes only to one area which is usually Toronto! However this makes the cost of living go up to accommodate this many people. Compared to Regina, or St. John's not many people immigrate there! Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? We can prevent the entire population from migrating, prevent people from being exploited and hurt while traveling or living illegally and the taxpayers and citizens won't have to pay for court costs, education, healthcare and welfare. There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. With the money now saved, it can be diverted to cover the costs of our troops, counselors, educators in those nations. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? I feel, certain pathetic political groups are playing these migrants, the law-abiding citizens and others in their game of chess. Lives are not pawns for chess. Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... I feel like much is not being discussed about this situation....Something else is going on that they are not covering...

Yet you can't see past your rose colored glasses that he really isn't going to do a damn thing to help the illegal immigrants he promised to welcome. He'll deport them just like the big mean president. He'll just wait till they've spent all their money in Canada first.

What a great show. I wish there was a black celebration centre in every big city in Canada. It's wonderful to share this information with my children although it is not enough. Also, Jamaican restaurants are always empty in BC. I always wonder why the food is so good and the restaurants are empty. The chairs need to be comfortable and I like it when there is already a table or two of people (it's like a testimonial without words...) You could perhaps let a table of people eat for free if they stay there all day - it would help.

I feel sorry for the guy, but the way it seems for many people who want to come to Canada or America is that they think we are going to let them in no questions asked and we have unlimited resources to help them. Yes we are fortunate enough to be wealthier than most other countries, but that does not mean we are able to accommodate every single person who wants to live in our country

People who can't speak the national language shouldn't be moving to another country especially not illegally. I can't feel sorry for this guy. I mean sure he's probably had a rough time but having kids and then trying to illegally immigrate just doesn't seem like the right way to try to live life especially not to raise a child in. \n\nIf you want to better yourself and your family learn the language and properly apply for a visa and come work here and contribute. I was born in Seattle and left to Canada (married) when I was in early 20's!  This then was a good change for me as Vancouver was a great city compared to Seattle, moved right downtown and had a blast so for a young person (then) was great.  Met some great people from all over the world and had health care, medical/Dental etc.... I worked in the greater Vancouver area for 8 years and it was tough, very strict, and did not help that I was from the states, white bread Canadian seemed a bit jealous that I was there, sometimes not very friendly.  The Europeans I met were actually better to deal with and I got along quite well with them.  The cost of living was about the same as in Seattle.  After about 8 years being in Canada and working hard I saw America booming and the Canadian dollar was as low as $.62 cents (in late 90's) so I took my craft from Vancouver and brought it to the US just across the border, I became much happier working in the States, I took a little bit of bs but not bad from some that I had a Canadian accent (go figure when I moved up there I had a twang) I really never left the united states I will always be American and I have been still working in the US for over 20 years and deal with mainly Americans on a daily basis from all over the State of Washington.  Depending on where you grow up or end up you should never see a border Seattle and Vancouver have more in common than Vancouver / Calgary in fact most Canadians don't care much for the other provinces.  After 30 years of being part of both countries, I can say that people are people both have great offerings and if you took the best of Canada and America to combine then we would all prosper, there is so much both can learn from each other.  Bottom line:I take the best of both worlds and what they have to offer, yes, I have found less expensive goods in Canada than what they cost in the states.  I have seen it from both eyes, and if you cant be open culturally then stay away.

I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). They then have to get their case processed by the refugee board, and most seem to get in. I've only heard of few getting sent back. One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. Lol the "Canadian government asks them to repay the traveling cost to Canada if they are sent back"....I wonder how much the government recoups?.....more like 0 probably. What a bunch of crap. How do you demand someone to repay their flight cost when they get back to their country?

We tried to keep t manipulation of Megan Markle to a minimum but dud include what she was attempting to do off camera to get into Harvard Law to one up Patrick J Adams who she discredited as a Harvard Law Graduate. It's a heartbreaking situation, but a country has the right to decide who comes in and who doesn't. The places where hard-working, industrious people like Jose come from need to drastically change their societies to capitalize on his talents and provide for a stable future for his children. Perhaps what the US and Canada can do is help train those country's leaders to implement policies that improve their economies like establishing strong property rights, rule of law, free markets, tough measures on crime, etc. But unless you have a Ph.D. in Physics or will start the next Apple computers, we have plenty of unskilled labor here already. Look, I feel for the guy and I'm empathetic to his plight, I don't think he's an evil person, and our country may be better off having him here working and contributiing to the labor pool, but the law is the law.

What about the terrorism that Christians are involved in?  The sexual abuse of children that still goes on today.  People have to remember not only were Pope John Paul and Pope Benedict were aware of the sexual abuse the perverted priests and bishops engage in,  but Pope Benedict went out of his way to move and protect the pedophile priests.  The Catholic church has spent millions on lawyers to prevent having to pay out the victims of sexual abuse.  The catholic church also has in its possessions stolen art works and valuables stolen by the Nazis during the war.  They have not handed them back to their rightful owners.  And to add insult to injury the Catholic church enjoys tax exemption status and protection in Canada while the victims of the church do not have access to services to help them rebuild their lives due to the effects they still suffer as a result of this abuse.  \n\nAn example of the further victimization sexual abuse victims of the Catholic cult have been exposed to is the practice of Crimen sollicitationis  Crimen sollicitationis states that if a person speaks out about their sexual abuse experiences within this cult they can be ex-communicated from the church.  \n\nAs a white man who is an ex catholic and who also had sexual abuse from this church it is my belief that many young children who were sexually and spiritually abused by the Catholic cult did not come forward because of shame and did not want to have to be exposed to this kind of re victimization by the Catholic cult again. \n\nI believe it is because a lot of Muslim people are people of colour that they are persecuted in Canada.  The real terrorist in Canada is not only the Catholic church but a spokesman for them the Crime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party of Canada.  The are terrorists who rig elections, and their party is rife with criminal and illegal activity and are a threat to democracy.  That is why everyone should be protesting their anti terrorist bill they are ramming down the throats of Canadians Bill C-51  \n\nIf you have nothing intelligent to say and believe being a conservative makes you exempt from the laws of Canada, and you are set in dismantling democracy, the Conservative Party of Canada wants you.
