No Offence to anyone but when you applied to come here as a student or tfw you had to prove and swear that you will go back home once your studies or work permit is done , its a part of the cbsa and irrc questioning if your protesting you are breaking the rules and laws of your visa and you are subject to deportation because you lied to immigration and the cbsa , i lived in another country for 3 years during covid i could stay up to 3 years with my visa , my last renewal the officer told me sir this is the last renewal you will have to leave so that is what i did i respected the laws of the host country and went home , i feel sorry the students were lied to by the schools the government and THEIR own People telling them they will get pr give us 20k-30k cdn $ but thats not our problem .... vet the agencies yourself before applying , come here legally and there is no issue , but don't think our country has to give you pr or CITIZONSHIP just because you spent allot of money or worked here pr and CITIZONSHIP is a privilege NOT A RIGHT , when you had the interview with immigration and the cbsa what did you Promise i will leave didn't you ? time to start packing like i did go home and better your country with the knowledge you go from here if you dont break the rules you can always come back Legally god bless and good luck

They have NO rights to protest. Immigration was not gauranteed to them. A German national in India showed solidarity towards farmers, his VISA was cancelled and he was deported. All the students protesters should be deported bcoz they were here to study not to protest.

Please don't conflate legal immigration with millions of international students and temporary workers. Canada needs a legal immigration policy that works and right now it does not have that in place.

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. I immigrated to Canada in 1992 from Eastern Europe and had job in high tech which enabled me to move to US in 1998. \nEven though I went back on occasions to Canada to visit friends, had no idea that things changes for worst so much over years. I saw cost of living and housing going up there, but after reading comments here honestly I am in shock. My wife always regretted leaving Canada which we used to call our second home, but after reading here we seem made a right decision back then…

I left Canada finally after many many years of debating for myself. It’s the best thing I ever did. I have a really good job, that pays me more than three times my monthly overhead. After literally struggling in Canada for 30+ years as an adult trying to keep a job amongst colleagues that hate you for everything that I was and wasn’t, had and didn’t have. I’m very happy that I left and can go to work peacefully everyday, without needing to feel like I’m a piece of crap that doesn’t have the right to exist. I came to Canada at age 12 with my parents. And was always called names, always under minded, overlooked, put down, bullied and never had a single job that also contributed to my pension. When I left Canada, immigration Canada emailed me daily for three months telling me to come back to Canada IMMEDIATELY lol. Because my home country wasn’t safe enough to live in. I’m from Belgium. It’s much safer, friendlier, empathic and prosperous than Canada ever was

I was born and raised in Germany. My parents arrived in Germany in the 1980s. I have a German passport, but it’s not worth the paper that it’s on. I immigrated to the US right after finishing medical school. Leave Germany if you don’t want your children and grandchildren to feel like unwanted guests.

Immigration is out of control plain a simple. It’s not xenophobic or racist to state this. Any regular middle class Canadian can see the issues. It’s very hard to live here right now, and it’s not a single immigrants fault, it’s poor government policy and planning. Our government has failed.

When people from western countries work in other countries, they're called Expats. But when people from other countries work in western countries, they're immigrants. Right. And you wonder why people never feel accepted and leave.

My family immigrated here in the 1950s out of war torn Europe for a better life. Things have changed so much since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Toronto was a safe city with a good vibe. Things were reasonably affordable. Trudeau didn't start a lot of the problems, but he massively accelerated them. Government is openly hostile to basically anyone who was born here. They sold out the country to wealthy foreigners. I make a decent income but I still can't afford a house. Taxes are killing me. My doctor is horrible, but I can't find a new one. Civil liberties went right out the window. The people are cold and sullen. Crime is getting bad. Life just feels like it gets a little worse every year. I've been mulling it over for a long time, but might finally be time to head south. There's got to be something better than this, because I'm getting older and life now just feels like going through the motions.

Leaving may solve your problems but only for very short time, because whatever place you end up in, it may be no better, and good deal worse, since you won't be a citizen there. Remember too, that Europe and US are all afflicted with the same WOKE, antidemocratic malady destroying Canada. The only sure way to improve situation is by staying, standing up and fighting (legally, and non violently if possible) for what you believe.
