As a person with both parents, grandparents, and great grandparents and so on that were First Nation, it breaks my heart to see my country and what is happening in Canada. I am Mennonite (a pacifist denomination of anabaptist Christianity) Canadian, and our government’s support for the wars and human rights violations of the Military Industrial Complex and the American Financial System deeply sadden and anger me. What is happening in Palestine is heartbreaking.\n\nCanada is not a democracy, and too many Canadians do not see how easily they are manipulated by government funded propaganda.\n\nI wish you nothing but the best in finding a new country to call home. ?

It's a disgrace how Canada has been governed the last 8 years. Government debt is through the roof and that burden has been passed directly to the once so called middle class now the working poor. I am leaving Canada as I can only see life and standard of living dropping considerably. If they stop the idiot policies now, it will take a generation to recover, but i hardly see that happening. The climate activists, gender activists and health fear mongering is controlling policy and brainwashing children. Canadians will accpet things. They will suffer and just accept what leadership is lying about. it is sad. once a great country and a beacon of hope for many around the world, that has been corrupted.

I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

Main difference between Singapore and Canada is the latter has been trying to suppress wages of the working class effectively turning the working class into the working poor. \n\nThis, based on idiotic economic theories coming from central bank economists who think profiting private banks which produce nothing and creating a slave labor force in perpetual debt is good for the economy.\n\nIn Singapore, the govt has done the opposite. i.e. enabled purchasing power of the average citizen to rise along with standards of living. Its sad to even have to write this.\n\nWhen central bankers, govt..etc. step in to steal the productive output of the working class, it destroys Capitalism and suplants it with Crony Capitalism. FIRE (Financial, Insurance, Real Estate) speculation prospers while the working class producing real goods and services is financially destroyed.\n\nThe real estate prices are deliberately kept high by artificially restricting supply of housing through all kinds of bureaucratic means. Its main objective is to keep people in debt and working to pay off mortgage debt. A fall in housing prices would undo a lot of the leveraged bets that depend on housing prices staying high -- as happened in 2008 in the US. Main losers of that are banks.\n\nYou can then understand why Canada keeps pushing for more and more immigrants. All pyramid schemes (in this case a debt pyramid scheme) has to expand their base or collapse. It also serves the purpose of wage suppression of the working class so they remain in debt.\n\n\nI don't understand why you came from a prosperous country like Singapore to a lower standard of living in Canada. What did you hope to achieve here that you could not have achieved in Singapore.\n\nUnfortunately, people come to see Canada as a stepping stone to going some place else. \nBut in truth, I'm not sure whether other places are any better.\n\nOne great strength of Canada which Singapore does not have is the vast natural resource base of the country. \nIt remains the one shining star the country can fall back on despite incompetent economists and govt.

Back in 2010 I was rejected on the ground that my skills are no longer needed in Canada. I am a Math reacher in my country\nThis demotivated and I never applied again but after seeing all these responses I feel everything happen for hood reasons

Can’t help but see and feel the similarities between Muslim’s and Christian’s (conservatives). We are constantly vilified as well for following the Bible and not wanting our children to be around or taught perversions. Here in Michigan we have a pretty significant Muslim population and it was truly gratifying to see them coming together with the Christian’s to fight back against the indoctrination happening in our schools. Our media loves to call Christian’s all the “igot” and “acist” “obic” words, but they hold their tongues a lot better when Muslim’s are involved for fear of being seen as another type of “ascist”. lol I wish all of us (Christian, Muslim, Jewish) who follow a moral code as shown to us in our various Holy books could come together on this. It’s very hard to realize our government and most western governments are supporting genocide. I do see some minds being changed by what’s happening in Gaza and the West Bank right now due to the internet and sites like Democracy Watch Now. \nThe part you said about drag queens telling stories at the library being bad is a bit hypocritical if you are suggesting that we should be tolerant of how others live. Tolerance should not stop at certain groups of people . I doubt that a drag queen telling a story would hurt your children. You could find out, when those events are happening and not go. \nI’ve travelled in at least 12 Muslim countries in the Middle East and there is plenty of things wrong in every country. Even though I became Muslim only since mid March, I’ve been considering making the Hijra to a Muslim country Insha’Allah. I can’t relate to living in cold weather conditions being in Southern California, but I can relate to everything else. \n\nI’m not married. Insha’Allah one day I will. But I think about the safety my wife will have going out in public in her hijab. Insha’Allah I’ll have kids and I wonder about the indoctrination going on in society. \n\nBut the biggest thing for me is living in the US and knowing that whoever is in charge will endorse genocide. You should do what is best for your family. But I don't really understand your first reason. As much as Western countries are complicit in what is happening, so are many Muslim countries like UAE, Saudi, Bahrain. And I assume you are definitely planning to move to one of the countries in the Gulf. Leaving aside the government, I have seen more support for the Palestinian cause among the general population in the West that in my whole life in a Middle East country. I was born and brought up in the Middle East. I learnt more about the Palestinian cause infact living in a Western country now. Living in a gulf country, I have infact seen less regards for the underprivileged amongst my Arab friends that I see amongst western people. It is true I am a good Muslim living in a Middle East country, but I realise I am a better human being because I live now in a Western country.

Hello Saleh family, I have been following you for over two years now; I am not american or canadian but a physician and mother of two from a third world country in the Caribbean. I started following you because I was curious about the muslim faith and your way of life. I started following different muslim people (and jewish, vegan, homeless and more... basically anybody different than me) and after some time I saw that we were all humans in search of the same things in life. I completely agree with your decision of moving but was very disappointed in your comments towards the drag community. A person in drag reading a children's book is not indoctrination. A person in drag reading to kids is only teaching them acceptance and tolerance (exactly what you want the world to give to your girls who most likely wear a Hijab). A person in drag is an artist who finds joy and self worth in certain clothes, hairstyles and makeup... it is a person a human person with the same value as everyone else. It has nothing to do with sexuallity or sexual orientation... if we truly want freedom for Palestine, if we truly want to change the narrative and to prevent 75+ years of brutal occupation and racism ever happening again; we have to change the way we see our differences... is not enough to ignore and respect people who are different: we have to accept them and recognize their humanity and their worth; to value and foster acceptance and integration in the younger generations... that is the only way forward, that is the only way we will all secure a better future for our kids. I used to watch a lot of non Muslim couple influencers but since the war on occupied palestine I have seen that non of the couples you tubers have even mentioned what is happening its like they are all in the agenda just to distract people while a genocide is happening right before our eyes, sad thing is majority of the people around the world are ipening their eyes to the reality its not about religion or race its about humanity so when people who have such huge platforms keep quiet it shows their values. so I have decided to strictly keep my eyes on our muslim youtubers. We've made hijarah a couple of times. Currently in the UAE. Its ok, the masjids are a bit 'meh' in terms of spirituality and community. It is very easy to pray though, prayer rooms at all the malls and many petrol stations. Regarding Palestine, you'd probably be more disapointed with what's happening in the masjids here than in Canada. I was suprised to see how open they are with things like Victorians secrets stores and some of the clothes shop maniquins have crazy big boobs with visible nipples so theres an element of seediness that's well established. Oman serms more on form.

A person could say the wrong thing in the most articulate way. We must look into his statements that the people are unable to live in peace. What policies does Hamas have for the region. Who is UNRAW and what policies do they have for the region. To blame the Jews is the easy way out but doesn’t solve the problem. The Arab nation should first give an open door policy for a temporary shelter or refugee like the Europeans or America did for Ukraine. What in happens in 4 weeks when this military operation is over? I mean the only countries that were giving (to the now 95% homeless Palestinians in Gaza) were European countries and Iran and Qatar. I’m asking myself if they are not willing or don’t accept the idea of Palestinians leaving, I want to see the Arab, especially the Gulf nations get involved and built up Gaza. They could have done this before with all their money. But instead the elites one yacht after another. they betrayed the Palestinians and the Abraham Accords are proof of this. As a European who lived for 3 years in Canada, I have to say that Canadians - as much as I love them - are very entitled. They live in a bubble and don't realise how good they have it. \n\nTheir country is beautiful, the lifestyle is phenomenal even if you aren't rich. A lot of things they complain about like rising house prices, food costs, and political divide is literally happening everywhere - I'm really not sure why they think only Canada is struggling with this right now. Perhaps because on their strong currency they can go and live like Kings in somewhere like Portugal or Bali, but then they don't realise that they are bringing over the cost of living crisis and making things harder for locals when they do that. \n\nThey want things to be perfect, which isn't something to discourage but they don't realise how much harder life is like in most other countries on the planet. The only ones who appreciated it were the people who had lived for a few years in the UK or Paris or Australia, or somewhere else they imagined that life was easier and then ended up actually miserable and actually struggling - and then soon fly back to Canada. I have to say though I do love the sense of always wanting things to be better, whilst in Europe we tend to accept having less, less options and struggle to the extent that we don't even see it as struggle.

As a US investor in Canadian companies from Florida, I like see whats happening up there. \nThe comments seem to reflect my own fb in the US....people complaining about high prices of housing and food. I see a lot of people in the comments romanticizing the United States. We have about 250,000-300,000 homeless unvetted folks from all around the world sneaking through the U.S. southern border each month. Fact: a couple of hundred people on the terrorist watch list have been caught at the border (and reasonably for every one caught and apprehended, a few more haven't been caught and are setting up sleeper cells as we speak). All the while, we are facing a dire housing shortage, and an explosion of homelessness and lawlessness is hitting every major U.S. city. It's about to get very crowded and even more violent here. Come for the opportunities legally, but always watch your back and be prepared to defend yourself, your home, and your family. A peaceful, quiet cold life in Canada may not be that bad in comparison. It doesn't take long for a lawless country to fall from grace no matter how prosperous it seems. Look at what happened to Venezuela within a single decade.

I'm an immigrant from Latin America myself and i have to agree but it's deeper than that.\nI try my best to assimilate the culture but clearly not every immigrant does the same. \nOne of the reasons i left Toronto a couple years ago was precisely because of the housing crisis. Rent prices was on the roof.\nBesides that there's too many foreigners, half the city is trying to learn English and consequently the city's identity is lost. \nBut i guess this lost of identity is happening everywhere in Canada. It's sad to see.
