The process for obtaining Canadian PR or citizenship shouldn’t be as easy as it is today. By tightening these controls, we could have prevented the rise of these exploitative practices and maintained the value and integrity of what it means to be Canadian.

The Permanent Residence Visa for skilled immigrants began as a paid residence to help Canada clear its huge debt burden at the time. It was an idea and some politicians said it worked. But taking in the refugees from failed States is another category altogether. Refugees from South American countries, Somalia, Congo, Rwanda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and recently Ukraine have put another class of social welfare recipients without adequate skills. Then the monthly child benefit encouraged some of these unskilled Immigrants to get more babies. BTW....I lived in Canada for 13 years but returned to Kenya 7 years ago. Also, as you rave and rant against immigrants, remember there are real White Canadians living everywhere in the world some entrepreneurs and some working for NGOs. As an-ex permanent resident who left Canada more than 10 years ago (before becoming a citizen), and always regretted it, seeing these type of videos (and comments) make me a little bit less remorseful. I went back a couple of times as a tourist for short period of times in Quebec and I did not notice a real degradation. Of course the covid period left some marks.\nBut the situation in my home country, France, to is going downhill much faster than Canada. Honestly speaking, I never thought that there’s a lot of issues going on in Canada, during the college seminar, we were told that there’s good education (which is completely true), good pay rates for work, good housing and good society. The younger generation of Canada is facing the most hardships of all time. My friend’s son cannot find a job in a year now. He was discouraged to seek the truck driver license as he was told that he would not possibly to get a job in this career now unless you are an Indian. The real problem is the middle class and small businesses in Canada. I was a PR in Canada and still couldn't get a decent job because of two major issues. First - language. I went to look for a job in so many places but couldn't get it because I couldn't speak their native language, like Polish, Arabian, or Chinese. Second - I asked someone if I could get a govt. job near my house and everybody said NO. Why because the place had a Polish guy in charge, and he is only going to hire his family or friends who are Polish. So doesn't matter if you get the best leader known to man, Canadian economy is doomed if you don't do anything about the middle class system and non-English speaking immigrants.

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. There's no reason that we need to have more people coming here right now. We have way more than enough people here right now.

Loved this video. So real!! I think it's so important to always be moving forward in life. If Canada is that next step for you that's great, but if you've been here for a few generations and it's no longer serving you in the ways you need there is nothing wrong with searching for something more. I think for so long people have looked at Canada as this utopia and/or ultimate finish line destination but once you're here it's quite a shock at how difficult life really is here because of how expensive it is. Now Imagine How Native Canadians feel every time they see a European calling him/herself as a real Canadian. You don't see future in Canada, but you can return back to your home country. Despite having excellent credentials and expertise, I was not selected for any interview because I am not Canadian. Thus, give up lying and acting like the victim. Concentrate on the real issue. You are the preferred candidate for any employer if you are Canadian and meet the requirements.

I totally agree with you...I moved to Canada, to join my wife who was born here and moved overseas with me. She came back 5 years ago and I joined her three years ago. For her, this place has changed alot, and not to the better. For me, it was a shock, as services here are much less than services in third world countries.
