Immigrants mean votes for Justin Trudeau. It would be interesting to see how many immigrants have real skills. There is also the tendency to view the situation from the new immigrants pwrspective and in that the perspective of the established generation and the one they gave burth to and the promises made gets left out or highly diluted.

Our politics suck. That means both Trudeau *and* mini-Trump Poilievre. The housing issue and overburdening of housing/healthcare/etc. by too many immigrants in such as short period of time is something I'm not hearing being seriously addressed by both Libs and Cons. Politicians can talk about programs to build more homes (too little, too late) and such but they aren't addressing some key sources of the problems. One could have a decent life in Canada in upper-lower class to lower-middle class but now the starting point is upper-middle class. Quite sad.

In Canada, there used to be a difference between ‘immigrant’ & ‘refugee’. Trudeau and his government have made these two groups into one. My family immigrated from England in the 1950s. My father had to have a job waiting for him when we arrived. We had to go through health checks. My parents had to prove that we had a specific amount of money so that we would not be a drain on Canada. Trudeau has opened the border to anyone wanting to come no matter if they have anything to offer Canada.

My family immigrated here in the 1950s out of war torn Europe for a better life. Things have changed so much since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Toronto was a safe city with a good vibe. Things were reasonably affordable. Trudeau didn't start a lot of the problems, but he massively accelerated them. Government is openly hostile to basically anyone who was born here. They sold out the country to wealthy foreigners. I make a decent income but I still can't afford a house. Taxes are killing me. My doctor is horrible, but I can't find a new one. Civil liberties went right out the window. The people are cold and sullen. Crime is getting bad. Life just feels like it gets a little worse every year. I've been mulling it over for a long time, but might finally be time to head south. There's got to be something better than this, because I'm getting older and life now just feels like going through the motions.

Now I see why you're beautiful. You're Ukrainian. I see them here in Calgary frequently. \nIf there is one good thing Trudeau has done is to take in Ukrainian refugees who are real refugees fleeing invasion.

Where we live matters and how we vote determines the quality of life where we live. Canadians embarked upon a journey of progressivism and the WEF version of life with Trudeau to arrive at a destination that is very different to what was promised. I was allowed to grow up with and almost among them. At school, the children of Western European guest workers, including Turkey. \nWell Canada was always the brother of the States in my eyes. For me a Québécois, we missed the boat in 1995. Too bad if you don’t like it but we got screwed by newly arrived immigrants back then and we are being drowned by immigrants now. The difference is that you too in the ROC are being drowned. I am a Quebec nationalist, it’s in my guts. My family has roots going back to New France. Canada has always been an imposition for us just as we to the First Nations I guess. That’s unfortunately neither here nor there at this point in history and I apologize for it. I could blame the Trudeau government but any government in Canada would do the same for neoliberal/conservative ideological reasons. We have a neoconservative government right now in Quebec. Justin Trudeau and the liberals have destroyed this Country. I was born and raised in Canada in a town in Ontario along one of the Great Lakes Lake Erie. My parents and even their parents were born and raised in that same area I am from and Canada was a great place but since Justin Trudeau become PM everything started to change and not in a slow unnoticeable way it was fast. Drugs and homelessness started to become a thing something I have never seen in my life and even my neighbourhood and town started to change too with people that don't speak english and wait times in the ER started to be so much longer and even finding a doctor when I moved to the city was impossible to get. I have not traveled much only in a car or truck and never been on a airplane but I am considering moving out of Canada too. I am going to wait and see what happens in the election and see if things begin to charge before I leave the only place I know and start new somewhere else. I have been thinking of Southeast Asia like Laos or Thailand because there Canadian funds are worth something and you can live and at for very cheap and get a very nice place for half or less of what rent is here.

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. It's said that where we are is where we're supposed to be. I may as well take my chances, make the best of a crappy situation and stay here. There really is no better or worse place than Canada. The majority of the countries in the world are struggling with their own problems. I'm not willing to jump from the frying pan into the fire. One of the biggest reasons I want to stay in Canada is that if it does come to a nuclear shooting war it would be very unlikely that Canada would be attacked. So here I'll stay. For better or worse. The LIberals won't be in power forever and if people have the smallest amount of sense, so few will vote for them in the next election that the Liberals will lose party status. I fervently hope that happens. ;)

We are in the process of leaving Canada as well. Possibly permanent. We have come to Canada 22 years ago. We can live a good life with even one minimum wage when we first arrived Canada. It was a dream land for everybody. Today, we are double income professionals in Saskatchewan and still feel living standard is poor. Grocery price is 5 or 10 times as when we first come to Canada. However, salary of average family barely increase. The spending of government is just out of control and make everybody poor. Canada is on a rapid downhill path since Justin Trudeau become Premier Minister, I can't see this trend can be turned back in a short time.

Since Trudeau took power the population of Canada went from 35 to 41 million or 6 million people. That is more than the population of BC or Alberta. Has Canada built another BC or Alberta in terms of housing and infrastructure in the last 9 years? Quick answer is no. No one hates immigration, but it has to be done at a sustainable level. What he has done to this country is criminal.

All of the leftist political parties in all Western democracies have increased massive immigration exclusively, from 3rd World pagan cultures, such as China, India, Africa, the Middle East and Haiti, in order to soften the influence of Western culture and try to lock in the left-wing vote. They think that this will ensure that the left will always be able to stay in power. I have witnessed this in Austria, Germany, England, the United States and of course Canada. If anyone has a problem with this invasion, they will be labelled racist. Pierre Trudeau said that we must protect our French culture and so he rammed the bilingual policies down our throats, way back in 1970 or so. Today when you drive along Steeles Ave, along the southern edge of Markham, you will see only Chinese light boxes and 3d signage adorning all of the super malls there. No English and no French. The real goal of diversity is to erase Western culture which, was one of Karl Marx's wishes.

But not just that - these new immigrants become fodder of cheap labor that pushes out our very own Canadian citizens from these positions, with the more marginalized ones ending up on the streets. \n \nThere is a Motel 6 in my neighborhood that has been taken over by the Canadian government and converted to temporary housing for new immigrants. All paid for by Canadian taxpayers. Why isn't our own government using these funds to fix the housing crisis, or help it's own citizens with more affordable housing but instead they continue to exacerbate this problem by letting a huge wave of immigrants that overwhelms the Canadian infrastructure. More proof? Notice more locked up goods in your local stores? In Montréal, before the 2000s, it was easy to move whenever we wanted and rents were affordable. We had a deep sense of belonging in our city districts and crime was low. Now everything has gone. I don't understand why people do not put the blame where it belongs - on Trudeau. He is the one that has created this entire crisis by purposely continuing to allow huge numbers of immigrants, half a million to million a year!! People do not see that Trudeau is doing this on purpose to undermine our Canadian culture and country. He wants to destabilize the middle class because he knows that's where the power lies in terms of informed voting. He needs to be removed AS.A.P. before Canada is destroyed completely.

The Trudeau Liberals opened our borders without having the housing or jobs infrastructure in place. Trudeau has destroyed our economy and increased out taxes to the point that new home construction has ground to a halt.\n\nTrudeau has declared that he'll build enough homes in the next few years to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, the rate of new home construction that he's declared calculates out to one new home completed every minute (24 hours a day) for the next ten years. We don't have the contractors, builders, or workers to accomplish this. We don't have a plan for this. Trudeau constantly declares his wild, pie in the sky promises without a step by step plan.

Great assessment. My wife left Vancouver 22yrs ago. It was bad then and has only gotten worse. Sadly the residents would rather smoke a joint than vote for a conservative govt and attend a church. Forget about GOD can't be surprised when he forgets about you. That said Australia is not much better and getting worse by the day. The reason govts love immigrants is because they bring money in and are obivious to the local politics so the govts simply continue to introduce more and more corrupt policies every year. Even after they become citizens they remained divided on political thought because they tend to have a duality of mindset which says, if it all goes bad I will go back to where I came from. Meanwhile the local population is so busy applauding a PM like Trudeau who leagalises pot so they can be so stoned while there country is stolen right out from under them. If Canadians think new govt will solve the problem. They are dead wrong. This is the vicious cycle they can not get out. Their own structure can not support pensions and salaries. They need to bring in new immigrants otherwise the system cycle will collapse. As far as housing is concern. Does Canada have shortage of land ? Its due to policies that new housing is not coming up thus driving prices through the roof. No govt will gonna change that because corporate interests are involved and not house owners wanted their prices to go down. Which happened to be biggest voting block. Thus ordinary young Canadians are feeling the music and they see new students as the enemy. In fact it is the students who go through horrible exploitation ordinary Canadians cannot imagine. I’m so glad I left Canada what an absolute mess the country has become under Trudeau, i consider myself one of the lucky ones having the opportunity to leave hope one day Canada can find its feet again.
