Indian talent is a hoax. Nw US and west is getting better engineers from countries like Russia, Ukraine,Vietnam,Phillipines, Brazil. Even Taiwanise/chinise are catching up fast. In next 10 years. Most of the Indian coders will be jobless, thanx to AI and good coders from south asia, brazil, china, vietnam. Indians need to learn maths, algoriths, problem solving skills and creavitiy to stay in the compettion. Slogging wont work.

Some indians almost 45 Percent travel.abroad for jobs ...in that most of ppl go on tourist visa and try to get jobs or stay illegally ..due to that western nations curb immigration by stronger border controls ....better way to come out of this problem ...create jobs ,increase salary then only country passport index goes up

Wait, isn't our ranking higher than Zimbabwe, North Korea, Lebanon, Haiti and all the South Asian countries? Of course we aren't better than Maldives, Ghana, Kenya, Thailand, and all Micronesian countries. But within next 30-50 years, we surely can rank higher than Ghana or Maldives. What we should do is, decrease the quality of education, employ as many unworthy individuals as possible, based on loyalty to political parties and leaders, focus not on skills, but on advertising. In addition, if we can build a society based on bribery, corruption, insecurity, poor hiegine, all over human values, with little or no influence of legal systems, the faster can we soar toward the UAE passport strength.

There are enough Indians all over Europe, Americas and Australia. Many of them specially in the USA and Canada are illegal in high numbers. In Canada and USA, Indians have ruined their own reputation by getting involved into fraud activities, breaking laws of the host countries by bringing people from India and making them work illegally. So, naturally, the rejection rates are much higher for tourist visa and not for business visas as such. The solution is India should build infrastructure inside the country so that people don't need to rush abroad for a better life. Equality doesn't mean providing access to anyone who can potentially misuse the resource of a country.

Its like applying for a job. You got rejected because someone with more potential, better credentials, or waited longer got in. You’re one of the largest countries in the world and you’ve got hundreds of thousands of indians applying at a time. Percentages are a double edged sword in that regard. ??

We don’t need these ‘privileged’ countries to survive. They need us more than we need them. Let’s degrade their visas and reciprocate their rejection rate. We can survive better in a friendly world with mutual respect than in a world of racist colonialists or wannabe racists. Europe is paying a price for their stupidity. American is next.

The problem is fear that Indians will travel to the West and not go back. Not just Indians, but Africans, South Americans and many Asian countries do the same. I've lived in the US for 55 years. There was an Indian music troop that came to the US to perform, maybe 20 people, including singers, musicians, comedians etc. After their tour in the US, half of them did not return to India. They figured they can make a better living in the US and live here as an illegal immigrant. This is too common. The next time when a troop of musicians want a US visa, chances are the immigration office will think twice about approving a visa. I can travel anywhere with a US passport because people know that Americans will return back to the US.

as an NRI who lived in US, UK, and Canada, I can tell you that the so called developed nations are over hyped. Yes, there are so many things that are better in these countries compared to india, but all these countries lack one thing. Respect towards fellow human beings. I lived in several states in India, we have problems, but nothing compared to these countries. Indians don't belong outside of india. Don't go to any country out side of iindia...you are not welcome. I came back to india and I am living peacefully.

Well i don't blame those government making even harder for foreigners to access abroad.. \nSOME people that applying for visas have ulterior motive, and SOME tourist have so bad attitude and manners to the point the locals are just so fed up.. the the point it is even better for no tourist at all.. \n\nlets take some examples.. \nIndonesia, Bali.. Their sacred ground are mocked and used for nude photoshoot by drunk tourist..\nJapan, Kyoto.. They put a literal banned on all tourist that are visiting geisha district..\nItaly, Venice.. Venice over-tourism have made them surge price thus disrupting locals price, Environmental and cultural damage..\nthese are the few of the problem with mass foreigners coming into other countries..

It is not about being under UN sanctions or under military rule. Many Indian visa applications (especially for student visas) are supported by fake documents. Many try to emigrate by hook or by crook especially to the US or Canada via other countries. And the less said about the behaviour of Indian tourists abroad the better. Dishonesty, cheating and so on may be a way of life in India but other countries still value decency and civic sense.

We, Indians, put ourselves down.\n\nThey are;\n1) Out of 100 Indiands traveled abroad either for tourism or business, only 50 returns home, and the rest try to find jobs to live there.\n\n2) Many Indians forge documents or produce fake documents to get visas.\n\n3) Where the Indians go, they bring pan and pan parag items and spit sll over the place, especially the North Indians. South Indians are much better.\n\n4) We, Indians, can go any lower to get a job abroad at low pay. So, we put our own grades down.\n\nThere are numerous examples I know of. Let me cite a few below.\n\n1) In one of the Western countries, a few years ago, a real Punjabi brother and sister who staged fake a marriage, got a marriage certificate, and other documents only to migrate there. The government eventually found put and deported them.\n\n2) Canada deported a few hundred Gujarati students when the US border security found them not speaking in English. On investigation, it was found that they all came with fake IELTS certificate.\n\nThere are many incidents we get to witness the day after the day. So, we can't blame other countries. It's us who made us very cheap in the international market. Because of those Indians, the entire innocent, honest, and talented Indians community is affected.

Indians should drop these countries as a travel destination. The amount they are wasting is visa application, in the same amount they will get thousand times better experience in royal India.

Indians needs a better vetting process to earn the trust of the world, it speaks volumes that even some developing African countries are more welcomed and trusted in the west than Indians.

its because they are racist... imagine US, UK, etc grants no visa on their former enemies (like Japan) but demands for visa entry for their former colonies? you cant deny that these former imperialists sees former colonized countries as lint and does not contribute to their economy.... they stole billions of dollars in the past and at they could've grant visa free entry to their former colonies as a way of compensation to the damages that they've made in the past but they didnt.. and when war broke up, they'll ask from these former colonized countries for some soldier to be on the frontline for them because they were allies.. until now they still do some exploits to colonized counties in some other way like establishing manufacturing plant or some establishment hiring cheap labor from these countries, and when you want to visit to these counties they will automatically deny you.. On some point, China gives a better option. They will welcome you with open arms (although they will take advantage of you) but at least you can visit their country easily.

Many comments point towards illegal immigration and visa frauds. While these reasons really exist, it still does not explain why the countries under military rule or countries not even recognized by half of the world are performing better.

Why do Indian need to go to other countries? For business, for studies? Grow the business and do the studies in India. Change the behavior in India for the better. Ban betel nut chewing, stop urinating and shitting everywhere, and stop littering. \nPlease paint the buildings at least once in 5 years.

Indians are peddled this dream that everything outside is a heaven since early childhood. They see pictures of skyscrapers in Manhattan, London and Frankfurt and think everyone is living like that outside. These people are further brainwashed by immigration agencies and disguised human traffickers to put lakhs or even crores on the line for just going outside. They sell their lands, properties and other assets just to be able to go out pursuing a misleading dream.\n\nThis is a problem especially in states like Punjab, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra and Kerala, where most of the people still believe that it's better living outside than inside. These are not people who don't have anything in India but rather well-to-do families that have homes and assets and families in the country. \n\nThen comes the added Western bias and negative media image through propaganda. \n\nIndia has much work to do - if the country keeps complaining, nothing will get done.

I agree with the ranking, and the west doesn't need indian talent, india needs the west. Keep your talent, that way you won't need any visa. Kosova people are not demonstrating in host nations they visit like Indians, Burkina Faso is not over populating other countries illegally that's why they are better than India and if they immigrate they learn the culture and integrate. Ma'am, when a country makes it harder for citizens of a particular country to enter their country, it is often because of the number of recorded incidents, crime from people from said country. If there is a higher rate compared to people from other countries, then it becomes harder. Let's be honest here... Indians don't have a good reputation abroad when it comes to such things... I'm half Nigerians and at least many Nigerians acknowledge why lately, it is harder for Nigerians to get a visa (Obv crime as well.) Has nothing to do with discrimination. Also, look at the state of Canada. Nigeria and India need to focus on bettering their citizens so that less people go abroad, which also reduces the chance of certain people doing crime, to avoid making it harder for honest people from the same country to get a visa. Better the countries so that more countries open up for Indians, making the ranking go up. \n\nLastly, the passport index website shows India at 65, not 85. Why lie about that to fit your narrative? The passport index website is literally the first result that shows up on Google too... Not everything is about discrimination...

the root cause is illegal immigration and the root cause of illegal immigration is inflation, either people needs to be paid more on par with western countries or the cost of living must reduce to the point, people think working in India is far better to make money. \n5th economy you say but sadly it doesnt translate to the 90% people of this country, At this point even if India is world number economy still 90% of the will struggle to meet their ends. Well said! I hope our Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes note. It's high time India earns global respect, particularly from the UK, USA and EU. Offering arrival visas to income tax filers could be a game-changer and a start to that direction and will motivating more people to file returns to get that pride status. Currently, only 3% of Indians file tax returns, whereas at least 10% should. This initiative would benefit India and provide developed countries with a better filtering process.

With all that bitterness and resentment how do you sleep at night. Or maybe you can do some actual work to better your country, to better your people, instead of ranting day in and out, that's not what journalism is about.

Plain and simple, Indians brainwashed about holding citizenships abroad whereas the reality of those of us who are with foreign visas, realize it is just hype. We Indians are succors. Best advice is never ever believe touts, media or friends that it is greener in the West. Go on a short work contract not take a loan or sell up and leave. One of the family memvers may end up with a part time or casual or a fixed contract job. These Western countries are unlike job visas to the Gulf so be very careful before making a move in hope of a better life.

Why do the Indians travel to take other people's jobs when they have such needs in their own home country? Non-tech labor jobs in India are needed greatly. Seeing travel videos of India the people and their government should invest in itself with its own people.For a better and stronger India to prosper.

Those Indians arrived at Canada are those richer and better educated, yet they have caused a major cultural shock. Most Canadians consider them as noisy, filthy and smelly, yet arrogant and unadaptive to their new country. Other minor things like manners and politeness are also being seen as unacceptable to the Canadian society. Furthermore, Indians have no idea why they were being hated by native Canadians,how pathetic.

A failing country like Canada will absorb into US.\nTop 5 countries in this list have large population, hence, other countries will struggle competing with them.\n\nChinese immigrants in the west are declining and very soon most Indian immigrant too leave EU/Canada for better\nopportunities' in Asia.\nAsian countries dominate this list. So, considering this, start building more relationship with Asian nations;\nthis is your insurance for future.

Your comparisons and weighted point scale are subjective . I’ve lived in both countries and it depends on what stage of life you are in and what your priorities are to determine which country is a better fit.

I am commenting 6 months later you might not see but it is mass immigration that ruins a country but Indians don’t adapt to culture they just want to implement their own culture which is no way good for a country if you are here for a better life just respect the culture and adapt don’t exploit it .

We were military so lived right across Canada, and I can tell you the worst province in Canada is Saskatchewan. I don't have enough thumbs to turn down. The people are Very unfriendly. Think there better than everyone else, and if you need compassion from the police you won't find it there. I was with a group of military wives once and we all had to say the best and worst posting we ever had. Everyone said Saskatchewan was the worst. Nova Scotia and B. C the best. . The rest of the country is great. The Maritime provinces are the friendliest. Retired widow now and live in a small town Ontario. It's very nice here.

Indians have changed the lifestyle on the ground in canada. They feel relaxed and as if canada their country. They speak urdu everywhere and just help each other and they bought half of canada. Why we dont bring muslims they are way better and they adapt to canada. Indians will never adapt and have changed the canadian culture thats why we are running. Diversity of newcomers made this country good, but now it is just concentrated. Toronto Union station was filled with Indians crossing the track like this is New Delhi..., like they brought their chaos straight into another country. i think deporting them is gonna be too costly and cause a lot of tension with the us and other countries, not to mention cruel for the people who managed to build a life for themselves only to have it taken away, and also might cause a recession because of the millions of jobs they used to hold being vacant suddenly.\ni think it would be a much better cheaper diplomatic and realistic move for the use to use its massive and already existing and funded military to lock down the border at essentially no added cost, and strictly deport any one who slips through after that lock down, the immigrants who are already inside aren't gonna be a problem so long as they're the last ones who ever get through. thats what i want my country the uk to do, a lockdown so no more hopefuls can get in, because as much as all the immigrants in my country don't deserve to be here, i recognise how much pain it would cause them to be deported after so long in this country. and since they're already here i say no harm in letting them stay as long as no more come.
