Twice in a week Trump is humiliated by a world leader, Trump thinking he can be a president of a country like the ceo of a corporation. He blackmails people offering them scraps from the table of his last meal as if they should be thankful. How on gods earth did America vote this clown as it's leader. Putin has spent 3 years trying to get into Kiev and in a few weeks has managed to get into the Oval office of the Whitehouse. I sit here in the UK watching what is going on in America like many around the world cringing and at the same time laughing at how such a scumbag could achieve what he has done. I think finally Canada realized that if they have friend like US then they don't need any enemy. You can't trust US at all and need to start open your market for global trade. I am glad that finally this happened cause sometimes you need a slap on face to wake up from a cozy bogus dream. Make pacts and create meaningful relationships and let US do whatever they feel like doing because ultimately Canada is the 2nd biggest landmass in the world, 3rd biggest supply of oil, 5th biggest supply of natural gas, 1st in the world for supply of potash and uranium, If you include Great lakes then it has 4 coasts that can tie them with water so great opportunity to create best ports, 1st in natural source of water and 5th biggest agricultral landmass. Then why bother and put your energy into someone who don't care. Let US do whatever they like and forget about them. Just don't go to US and don't deal with US.

North Carolinian American here. I am ashamed of our country pushing our allies away. What I and many others want to let our allies know is that we support them. Our country is getting closer to isolationism, and it isn't good if we want inflation and prices to go down. History has shown us what happened to our country when we were isolated, and it brought economic devastation throughout the country. I hope that it isn't severe, but I predict that our president, and the Republican Party that controls the legislature and the Supreme Court will definitely cripple the economy, and will find a way to blame the party, where they are not in control.

When you ALREADY have tariffs in place against the US you cannot claim Trump is starting a trade war. You started it. Now we have a POTUS with the sand to stand up for us not the world. From an assumption that these and future tariffs will positively harm the US economy, just where does Trump go when the shit hits the fan (as it pretty much already has done)? How does he row back from the chaos he is causing and has caused. He doesn't retreat easily. I suspect that he will sack key members of his cabinet, effectively blaming them for this shift show, to try to save face. If the GOP ever grew a pair I can see impeachment in the works on the grounds of real and present harm to the US.
