Knee surgery comparison is a poor comparison. You chose self inflicted medical down time. The individual requiring knee surgery did not. If transmen and transwomen are putting up their lives for this country and knowing their unit can depend and risk their lives with their transmen and transwomen, their fellow brothers and sisters in the field, this shouldn't be an issue. The one eye'd congressman just sounded SALTY and retaliatory because he couldn't serve because of his disability. This just reminded me of our fellow African Americans, Native Americans, and every other minority that's had to go through these kinds of ordeal, let it either be in the military, sports, and many other areas, because THEY WERE DIFFERENT in the past and currently. As a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, multiple times, I completely agree with the president’s anti-trans policy in the military. Soldiers have a hard enough job as it is much less stacking on some DEI nonsense. That’s only gonna take time away from their training and ultimately DEI is going to 100% negatively affect the mission and their safety. Of personally over a 10 year period served with a couple gay and lesbian Service members and never once was what they did in the privacy of their own bedroom ever an issue or counter to the mission but this new age woke DEI nonsense is completely counterproductive, dangerous, And disrespectful to the non-DEI service members. The simple act of picking an unqualified, military leader, who’s responsible for the care and lives solely on the gender, ethnicity, religion, or pronoun, and not on merit, experience, competency, or any of the other real requirements for a military leader is literally the most irresponsible, dangerous, and disrespectful thing you can do to the men and women who have literally dedicated their life for years in service of our country! There’s absolutely no excuse on this planet that would make it ok. Being a service member in combat is already the most stressful job on the planet, but to make them take their focus off of the immediate threat to focus on political correctness or someone’s magical mystery pronoun while trying to prioritize and mitigate threats and combat is the most asinine and literally dangerous Nonsense I’ve ever heard!??????

First let me say that I fully support anyone who is fully physically capable of doing whatever job that they are either enlisted to do or has been assigned to do within the military. \n\nIn a time where special forces doesn't mean bulked up freakishly high endurance or specific physical requirements are necessary.\nSpecial ops nowadays is also about mental acumen and ability to assess the entire picture and it is absolutely well known that certain physical factors are required to be on the front lines but to remove a very capable force that is a force multiplier in a time where it's absolutely needed and cannot be replaced quickly or even adequately is doing a massive disservice to our military and the citizens of this country just for the sake of a small group of individuals with small minds that couldn't step into that vacant position and adequately fill it with the same caliber of talent regardless of how they identify themselves!\nBeing the most lethal fighting military requires many talents and to remove those talents from the soldiers they support is absolutely hurting our military in ways that will take decades to rectify!\nThat soldier on the ground calling in drone strikes to get his or her soldiers out of the danger isn't going to care if they are trans or identify as LGBTQ only that they are able to safeguard their soldiers in whatever way they have been trained to do..\nOur military needs to be the most diverse in order to be the most lethal in the most diverse situations throughout the worlds stages!

I wonder who paid for her transition? oh wait that would be our tax dollars! People wanting to be in military are being rejected for various health issues. Can't go to battle on the front line in some other Country when you require medication on a regular basis, it may not be available for weeks or even months. So do we pull people off the battle field and send them home because for whatever reason they can't get their meds? That's why it isn't acceptable

There are a lot of decent countries that speak the same language and have very similar cultures between Venezuela and the US. It would make starting your life over so much easier so that really begs the question why are they making that dangerous journey to the US? Seems really odd to me.
