I hate to say it, everyone is just a number including myself. And the numbers say, Canada cannot sustain this level of immigration because its not able to keep up with the infrastructure like new housing, hospitals, etc. If we keep up with this level of immigration, everything will become expensive and harder for everyone else.

Quebec actually has had its own immigration policy and section at Canadian embassies throughout the world. Those who wanted to immigrate to Canada found it easier and faster to immigrate through Quebec than through Canada in general. This was due to the French language requirements in order to increase the number of French speakers. However, many would abuse the system by immigrating to Quebec, then move to more anglophone provinces and cities like Toronto or Vancouver...

Why is this a human tragedy? What's so extraordinary about living in Quebec or Canada for that matter? The exorbitant cost of living and accommodation? 6 months of winter and loneliness? A very competitive job market which is extremely demanding regarding ones qualifications and work experience? I can't understand why they're breaking their heads to stay here other than to collect welfare money!!

During their stay, they spend two, three, or five years here and neither speak, read, nor write French. They go about their daily lives like any other Quebecer who is settled here. And when the time comes to leave, they have to sell off what little they own and return with nothing. I live in Toronto and it is full of Indian students. They are everywhere, every business, gas stations, grocery stores, dollar stores, all basic jobs you find indians. They can get visas for their spouses, their parents so easily. How is it so easy for them to get into Canada. Some can hardly speak English. Its hard to even get a basic job.

I came to Canada as a Landed Immigrant 50 years ago. I have made a good life, raised children, always had a job. I feel as Canadian as anybody who was born here. I resent those newcomers who only exploit the services they never paid for and trample our decency and tolerance. I grieve for our values being undermined and overridden by mindsets that will never adapt.
