100% bang on.. I've lived in Dubai (traveled to many other countries).. this is nowhere near being considered as developed anymore (GDP criteria is outdated)..Canada got developed and they forgot to update and even upgrade..!! The drug situation is so bad that I really hope that you didn't come across crackheads/homeless who are under the influence of drugs at all times.. No doubt there are way more homeless people in India, but they are working or at least trying in some way to make their life better and they never hurt you at least, here, it's the opposite, as they literally can do anything.. you can find them roaming all over on the streets of Old Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa.. You can literally find them everywhere.. someone commented earlier that you should give 2 years.. Bro or sis.. it's a complete waste as I am at the same point.. and on top of it when you invested 2 years, it even becomes tougher as it becomes even harder to go back as you have spent so much on furniture, house, car, tools, n all and most importantly - 2 YEARS of life. I left my pregnant wife and have been staying away from her and a 1-and-a-half-year-old baby boy hoping that we'll create a better future and can afford to struggle right now.. its been 2+ years.. Honestly.. I am still not able to figure out whether there is any future or I have spoiled my present looking for a future.. its a dilemma beyond explanation in words, with no relatives or anyone based here.. I've a lot at stake currently and that's the only reason I am stuck otherwise leaving this place seems to be inevitable.. \n\nI travel extensively all throughout and forget about expressways anywhere in Canada (Except 407 which has an insane toll rate) it's a 4-lane highway just 80 km from Toronto to the rest of 450+ kms to Montreal which are 2 major cities of this so-called developed country.. same is for Ottawa, the same hold true from Calgary to Edmonton, and any other major town/city!! on top of it, they are struggling to even maintain those (always under construction - even construction is a wrong word to use as they aren't adding anything new.... it is just being repaired in true words) Same is true with adding new infra in terms of hospitals or any other facility... Banking sucks.. Still dealing through the mail (Postal mail).. (Mails not e-mails). I simply can't get that.. the tax agency - CRA sends communications through the mail, and the same with any other agency.. Comon.. grow up is what I feel at times..!! People are literally not willing to work (Except hard-working immigrants), Govt. doesn't have any plans for the future regarding the economy and development... just bringing in immigrants.. that's it..\n\nYou've made a very smart decision and really at a very good time.. wish you, and your family all the best..!!

If the US opens up immigration those salary perks will also be diluted. If 5x the number of programmers are looking for jobs then supply and demand will dictate that employers can lower the going wage for new talent. At least at the lower levels. Housing inflation is a problem but it looks worse than it is since something like 20% of the population lives in the greater Toronto area where a 500sq foot condo is 900k. Tons of sub $200k houses within 20-30 minutes of major cities in most other provinces. If the job allows remote work then its also a moot point.

Don't deceive Africans to move to Canada Infact they should acquire some funds to start a business or study to go back to Africa and move back to Africa entirely. Coming from a Canadian citizen, bad government policies all around for the last 8 years is a major reason, but also Canada has become a culture of virtue signaling, leading to valuing foreign aid, migrants and refugees over its own citizens, also accommodating of oversea values and beliefs that immigrants brings into the country over its own founding values and culture.

In Greater Toronto Area, 4 working adults in one home, you can survive. 10+ adults in one home, you can live luxury life. Alberta is more affordable but harsh winters. You can forget about getting any YT collar jobs in AB if you're not YT and Eng is not your first language. I don't understand why Cdn govnt wants to bring non-yt immigrants when majority of YT Cdns don't want to see non-yts in Canada. Born in Iraq. My parents brought me here when I was 3. I am now 32. Finished college and university, became a military officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, had a top security clearance. I am telling you now, I am leaving Canada and there is no bright future here. I have seen it all and know what Canada is capable of, and majority of it is lies they tell immigrants who come here to prop up a phony, broken economy and collect tax revenue from ignorant newcomers. Who in the hell would now want to immigrate to Canada ? Outrageous housing costs which consume most of your income . One has to work at least two to three jobs just to try to keep from completely drowning economically . A healthcare system which is on life support . It is next to impossible to get a doctor . Emergency waits times at hospitals can range from 4 to 24 hours . Traffic from hell in all of the major cities .... particularly Toronto , Montreal and Vancouver . The crushing cost of living . A political leader who is a complete fool who has basically destroyed the country in just 8 years . As if all of this wasn't bad enough ...... 5 months of winter from hell . Living in Canada is now an extreme struggle in every way imaginable . One will always struggle . One will always work like a dog . One will very likely fall into extreme debt in Canada just to survive . One has to pay outrageous taxes on their income leaving them with about 50% of what they actually earn after they have paid all of the combined taxes on everything that they buy or services that they use . Forget about ever being able to save money . Incomes are about about 35% less than other advanced than those in other advanced countries for the same skilled job . One will never own a home . One will never be able to start a family . One will always freeze in the winter . Life in Canada has become an absolute hell . The Canadian dream is as dead as dead can be . It is no longer a country where one can earn a decent living , own a home and live a good life . On top of all of this it has an authoritarian government which keeps passing new laws to reduce free speech and civil rights .

I know a family who were able to immigrate because the husband major was needed in canada but when he arrived no one hirre him. He had to go back leaving his family behind so definitely when they received the citizenship they left to go live with their father.

Why doesn’t the Canadian government focus on its own citizens to grow the population and economy if that is their major goal. Why not make it more affordable for young Canadians to start a family? We spend $6B a year on bringing in immigrants, why not increase the child benefit with these funds? Why not teach good family values in Canadian schools and promote healthy relationships? Instead our government lets in young adults who aren’t vetted and want to work in retail/tech and bring their parents their grandparents their uncles and aunts over from their home country who then live off of CPP after not paying one penny into it. (This is what I have seen in my town, may not be representative of all of Canada)

Not having welcoming committees is definitely not a significant issue. The economy, increased emphasis on MAID (i.e. death) over extensive medical care, and the new sociopolitical atmosphere of hating immigrants to Canada from the 16th century onward are definitely major factors. When people were encouraged to come and work in numerous professions all across Canada for centuries, it was not difficult to retain immigrants. The virtues of hard work and supporting your family were valuable treasures, but now there is much less emphasis (even some discouragement) concerning these things today. I am praying for our nation to turn itself around.

A majority of tradesmen and labourers are set to retire in the next 5 years so immigration will definitely benefit Canada as a whole. It will create economic growth and also fill the giant gap in the labour force due to the boomer gen retiring (they make up 70 percent of the laboir force) and a younger population who are becoming less interested in labour intensive jobs. .

I think your video and the Leaky Bucket study have not addressed the first and major concern why immigrants are leaving. We moved here for our kid's future, the Future of Canada lays on generations to come. The government's policies are too much leaning on the left side. Cost of living is too high. A single individual needs a gross income of a least $65,000 a year to even afford renting an apartment. Even if Pierre was made PM today and held a super majority in parliament it will take a least a decade to fix the problem. Liberals are targeting 500k immigrants per year and not even building a 1/4 of that many homes or rental units.

Canada is quickly turning into a 3rd world country because that’s where the majority of them came from, as refugees NOT IMMIGRANTS. Canada is no longer screening for EDUCATED, PROFESSIONAL people who can contribute to Canadian society. Canada has made it so difficult for those who are educated and are professionals to receive accreditation to contribute to Canadian society. Canada no longer ensures there is a Canadian sponsor who pays for the immigrant, to ensure that the immigrant is not a burden on society. When teachers can not make change while volunteering at a food stand for a local craft show, this explains that our education system is junk. Our health care system is run like a well oiled corporation where money stops at the top/administration and never finds it’s way to those who need health care. I was the first generation of latch key kids to go to school with Italian, Croatians, Serbians, Armenians, Jews, Palestinians, Asians and we never saw our classrooms full of sanctioned hate. We never saw the neighbourhoods of any of these ethnicities look like open toilets. There was no gang violence amongst these ethnicities. They had their own community centres, churches, synagogues and anyone was welcome. They were active in the community, they were fantastic neighbours. Decades later we have “no go zones” in our cities and rural communities because of the danger of some ethnicities. Churches and synagogues are locked. Their community centres are locked and monitored for entry. We have lost our way. We have allowed chaos agents into our country and we are paying the price and will continue to do so.

Over the past 3 years, and especially in 2023, I saw that immigrants from India literally flocked in high numbers to the small norther town where I've lived for decades. They're now the majority of workers in most retail positions. This influx has caused severe housing shortages. These newcomers aren't working in the construction industry. Some of them are buying and renting houses, driving up the housing prices dramatically. EVERYBODY is now suffering from the hyperinflation on housing prices and everything else. Our quality of life has plummeted. It isn't rocket science: allow huge influx of immigrants, and inevitably the result will be inflation, lower wages for competing workers, increased housing prices and dire housing shortages. Whoever planned this must have been aiming at destroying Canada.

The housing pricing in Canada are pretty insane. The value of my 900 SF condo in Victoria has doubled in the past 10 years. I don't know how anyone gets into the market today when you add in inflation for regular goods over the past couple years. I know it's become a hot button in parliament of late, and the government seems to be trying to spearhead more housing, but they are pretty late.\n\nI'm also a little surprised that a majority of conservatives don't think the immigration levels are too high. But I suspect that has gone down of late with the said housing issues. More skilled workers is better for Canada overall, and will generally drag wages up, but housing has to keep pace so costs don't escalate more than wages.

Weird I don't care in the least if migrants leave here for other areas. But it's certainly ironic that a major factor in housing prices (too high immigration with not enough homes being built to compensate) is in fact contributing to this.

The Canadian way of dealing with issues: Throw money at it and bring more immigrants. in other words, provide a short term solution while creating a major long term issue.

Yeah well in Canada the problem is for us fools who decided to do a STEM degree, we not only have to compete with our classmates in the job market, but also with all the immigrants who also have STEM degrees plus decades of experience. When you point out the wage gap, this is why and it is true in most STEM fields. \nI have met many engineers who gave up looking for work and took up a trade which all too often actually pay more than what they would otherwise using their majors.

The world has changed. It's wild what we are seeing right now. Like the affordability crisis is like something I've never seen. We moved to NYC two decades ago and the rent for our first apartment never went over $1k a month. My mom was making minimum wage the entire 13 years we lived there and while we were very much meeting the requirements for public assistance, her job could at least cover the majority of the necessities. The immigrants coming in today would be lucky to find a room for the rent we paid.

Ontario cut social policies to convert them into welfare for the massive influx of immigrants they received from Syria and Afghanistan starting in 2014, I was there and saw the change Toronto went through from 2013 to 2018 with thousands of people from abroad that received hefty benefits while not able to work, integrate, contribute to society, but were major PR scores for politicians and their campaigns. Aside from that, the cost of rent and food skyrocketed without any control and I've seen unjustified markups at Nofrills in just a year, let alone ordering some below-mediocre pizza for $25 or getting a hamburger meal for $15, and these were 2018 prices.

Pricing is not a Canadian specific problem. Look at anywhere people actually want to live in the US, it's essentially the same. LA and NY are just as expensive as Toronto. Only difference is there's less people in Canada that live in rural states like Iowa where everything is cheap because there isn't major city for hundreds of thousands of miles. This is all part of late stage capitalism and our inability to see past the short term. Corporations eventually take over if we don't do anything about it and everything becomes too expensive. People stop having kids so the government needs to increase immigration to support what few social systems we have left. I left Canada for South Florida in '95. I did it for various reasons, the major one being that I got tired of the long winters and overcast days. I love Canada and visit often but for my lifestyle and goals it wasn't a good fit for me. I immigrated to the U.S. legally and it took a lot of time and money to get my citizenship but it was worth it. No city or country is perfect but some will be better for you than others.

The vast (I do mean vast) majority of Nigerians live in absolute poverty and in virtual war zones. This guy was obviously from the upper class and made enough money to live in a secure, gated community with its own power generators. Most Nigerians live in shacks. He may be one of the few immigrants whose station in life dropped after emigration.

This is an interesting overview of Canada and its many issues. I would love to see a follow up video or two looking into these same issues but from a few different perspectives. 1) regionally - Canada is very diverse so our regions are quite different in culture, problems and cause of each. The major regions are: Maritimes/Ontario/Quebec/Prairies/West Coast/ Territories. 2) because of our diverse landscape different races are attracted to different areas. I have not studied this impact on our racism and political issues but would love to see someone like you do so. It appears to me that immigrants are disproportionately gathered along the US/Canada border and big cities, particularly east and west coast. First Nations are disproportionately populated in Rural and northern areas where resources overall are less available to all races. I would expect to find that this population disbursement would also reflect in our political leadership. For example more populated cities are far more likely to have immigrant own businesses and politicians, In rural and northern communities politicians are more likely to be white because First Nations politicians would be more inclined to work within the First Nations political channels where they can actually do more good for their communities. 3) The diversity that makes up 'white' as a race. It appears to me that Canada historically has been more inclined to attract 'White' races versus other 'colours'. We have large populations of British, Swedish, Irish, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Norwegian, and Polish to name a few. All of which have large diversity in their culture and history but are often classified as 'white'. 4) The massive impact the past 5 + years of politics and world affairs have had on the divisions within Canada. Personally I see and feel far, far more judgements between races, economics and regions than ever before.

Until you experience the horrors they have gone through don’t throw stones in glass houses the immigration system has been broken for years if people waited until it’s their time no one would realistically get through since there is a 20 year backlog and children who were brought here 20 years ago have been thrown out because they themselves were still not approved a decade or more later. Part of the issue is red state lax gun laws allowing cartels easy access to heavy machinery that can be taken back across the border. Do you really think corruption isn’t running all the way to the top and that the American government has not helped worsen the issues when any of these countries want control of their own fossil fuel. Consider how many rich people get to jump in line or border patrol on both sides being able to keep out legal crossings if you can’t pay their fees. If you fight the cartel military or government you will find yourself dead imprisoned and or tortured and if they are fleeing to save their family and willing to leave their whole life behind to go to a country whose language they don’t speak do you really think they can walk all the way to the border wait in a single file line hope they can request asylum and then wait 40 years to maybe get a call back for a hearing these ppl are forced into a rock and a hard place and for the majority of American politics most politicians have no interest on really figuring out a comprehensive and compassionate system to help get immigrants out of dangerous situations America barely cares about it’s homeless citizens veterans mentally or physically Ill every country is having serious issues because often leaders are really only looking out for themselves

Canadians are not polite, we are polite to your face, then we talk major shit when you leave the room. We outwardly embrace immigrants more, but we inwardly are just as, if not more xenophobic than americans.

I was an immigration consultant up until this June 2023. I stopped as I don’t believe in our immigration system anymore. It is not representative and how the government shows itself to be. I would always question skilled workers that have a great life in their country. I cared more about my clients than taking their money. Life in Nigeria is only decent for those living affluently in Lekki, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, certain areas of Ikeja and Abuja. Outside of that, life for everyday Nigerians is crap. Water & electricity (NEPA) are highly unreliable & intermittent, so fuel-powered generators are a necessity for living everyday life per household or per apartment in apartment complexes. The banking & government systems are notoriously sluggish, taking weeks and months to process simple paperwork such as drivers licenses, passports, certificates, banking transaction reversals, you name it. Bribery is a daily occurrence EVERYWHERE. Police (if you can call them that, mostly untrained thugs) detain & extort motorists and/or people innocently going about their daily lives, just for the money. Many many many people disappear mysteriously without ever being seen again by family or friends. Lots of inter-racial discrimination and animosity between the three major tribes that make up Nigeria… Yoruba, Igbo & Hausa-Fulani. The federal & state governments are horribly corrupt, bordering on dictatorship. Elections are undemocratic, to say the least, with thugs threatening voters at voting booths. I could go on?\n\nThis is why many Nigerians with any amount of wealth live in diaspora, whether that be the UK, Canada, the USA, Europe, or wherever. And, yeah, be prepared for everything being structured & organized in these countries, especially in North America. The cost of living is definitely higher to pay for a higher quality of living. That’s the difference between a developed country vs a country, such as Nigeria, that’s developing or considered ‘third-world’. Unfortunately, here in Canada we cannot account for the last 8 years under our current administration, which has gone rogue & is out of control, causing high inflation, interest rates and housing and cost of living to soar. This is not normal conditions even to those of us natural-born here. So, we feel for immigrants who have arrived in good faith in the last few years. I’m sure their country of origin is looking better than what is being experienced here in Canada currently.

I think Canada is a major disappointment for many immigrants that land here. It's not so much the cold, but rather the cost of living. It's about survival rather than living. It's also true that many people do not receive benefits, and are unable to accumulate any savings from their income.

They only want White immigrants. They fear not being the Majority.

That One older gentleman was the wrong person to interview on this subject. He is older, has higher education in a field that is highly regulated in Canada and had a stable and conformable situation back home which isn't the case for the majority of immigrants from Nigeria. He is already set in his ways. He should go back to Nigeria and support his kids if they want ti study/immigrate to Canada.

If your hypothesis that the majority of H1B jobs are tied to a home PC...then those jobs can be done anywhere. There is no need for immigration in those cases.
