Why some skilled immigrants are leaving germany? I have many friends who did that- IT, finances, etc. 1. Very high taxes and thus net salaries comparable to Eastern Europe. A senior dev in Bulgaria gets 2000-3000 NET. After taxes in Germany, well, he will get a little less. 2. Cost of living in Germany is much higher- rents, energy(because of green policies and taxes), services(because of costly labor), etc. \nImagine a budget of 1000-1500 eur to give you a nice apartment(400-500), bills, food and bars/restaurants 1-2 times per week. With a net salary of 2500 eur(average for qualified jobs in the capital) you can save 1000 eur or more with ease. With almost no illegals security, standard of living, etc is close to german. That is why qualified bulgarians do not go to Germany anymore. Same comparison can be done with all other EU contries. \nBecause of socialist policies for equal payment, high taxes, etc even germans leave Germany. What was the number? I think I saw more than 100000 qualified germans leaving each year. But why stay? To be taxed so that an engineer gets 1.5-2 times the janitor? With german social security unemployed get more than many working people. Rent covered, money for food and more and social payments leave you with more than the one working for twice your income because he pays rent, bills, etc.\nThere was an article I think in DW years ago about unemployed young people working for 2 years paid by gov and leaving the job market forever. They admitted the 2 years were just to mark the requirement for unemployment payments but that a nurse net salary was close to social security so why go to work. Do you think qualified people want to work for no money? What is the stimulus for the young to study if the salary will be close to with no degree? The politicians solution? More people on social security(non qualified illegals) and EU directive for making minimum wage 50% of average thus making the benefit of getting qualified even lower.\nGood luck Germany. I am from Bangladesh. I did my masters here and working full time with a blue card visa. It will take for my wife and daughter to get a visa appointment in Bangladesh 24 months minimum. It is super sad and everyday I am getting more and more depressed. And the ambassador there does not even care. He keeps saying they have staff shortage and it has going on since the covid. Do you think I would feel welcomed? Of course no. To be honest, I would not probably plan to stay for too long myself.

Im my experience as a German the “unskilled” foreigners usually learn German pretty fast while the “skilled” somehow expect that everything needs to be in English. I get that learning languages can be hard, I speak 3 and am currently learning Portuguese. But it’s just a necessity if you really want to live in a place for a longer time. I haven’t yet visited a country where once you leave the urban areas you get along well with English. I’m often shocked how little German a lot of people speak that have been working here for years. If I go to Brazil for example I don’t expect everything to be in English, I try to make use of my little Portuguese and am grateful for people that do speak english. I think a lot of the issues stem from comparing Germany to UK, US, Canada that are native English countries. Or small countries like the Netherlands that have to use English as a primary language in many businesses because there are just not enough dutch speakers.

Canada is so big. I think you could fined what you want just buy moving to a new location in Canada. \nVery much like the U.S.\nI have traveled millions of miles in my life time. You will find that is all the same for the most part. \nJust pick a location you like when dune traveling and make it yours. YES! it takes work.\n\nWhen I look back on my life. I feel like all the travel was a waste of time, and this was before YouTube.

We all have our destiny to experience and live out. Sometimes we think the decisions we make are in our control. After leaving Vietnam, I never would have expected the life I have lived so far. After living in LA for a very long time, I decided to move, and it was the perverbial question, where? Leave the States totally, return to Calgary, or else where. A former company was finishing building a new facility in Australia, which I thought would be ideal having been a manager there. In between I took a trip to Europe for the first time, which caused me to rethink my plans. Two years later I moved to Europe, hook, line and sinker, no job, no place to live, no nothing, just did it. I have no regrets after 30+ years living, working, enjoying my life here. It's not for everyone, but it was my destiny. I've lived on 4 continents, 7 countries and on an island.

Funny thing , when someone hear about Germany and the shortage of labor they think they will be welcomed and find good jobs, fact is NO, they will apply and will be rejected many hundred times, wages are joke it does not meat life requirment, add the bureaucracy , endless waiting in foreign office and appartment shortage. I have been living in Canada for over 30 years. I am thinking about leaving too when I retire. Makes me sad and angry at the same time because I love Canada. Trudeau has destroyed this country!?

The economy is down in every part of the world, not to mention Canada is hosting refugees from Ukraine/Palestine and other parts of the world who also contributed to the drain on economy, if you can't support them then don't bring them? The Canadian economy has been going down for a decade+, many businesses have left in the past and are still leaving, Trudeau hasn't made it easy for them either, the remaining NEED cheap labor to survive. They also NEED immigrants to bring in their money, its a big part of their economy, without immigrant money their Universities/Colleges/businesses are going to be many times more expensive even for the local Canadians. Canadians have big ego but not much to back it up, from my time here, they try to compare themselves to USA but they're nowhere close, nor is the weather desirable to live here, the guise of friendliness/politeness & some high paying jobs is all they had going for them, and now they don't even have that. /endrant

As bad as it is i think it’s best to tough it out and things will improve, many euro countries may seem better but they too could be come gentrified with time and im sure those places sucked at one time which is why Europeans moved to Canada for the last a hundred years. \n\nIK Canada looks bleak but much of the world sucks and things will improve, haven’t seen the video yet but as far as IK, moving to a warm third world country is never the solution because locals will experience price inflation and all the things we complain about and the problems just won’t stop.

You know I've always paid my rent on time. I've never been late once and I'm on disability. It's people like this that are parasites. She also thinks that everybody owes her and she's entitled to everything and that's the kind of generation we're in now and we definitely need a big overhaul in our rental system

I'm pretty sure more will come but many will leave so on once they understood that their living standards aren't improving. I see lot of people are struggling and moving to Netherlands, Belgium and soon. Even with two income it's hard to survive in any EU countries. The main reason behind all this misery is lack of housing, tax, tax and more taxes. Netherland is also not a good at housing and taxes. European are not work hard becasue it will only result in more taxes and causes more misery. In EU majority of people choose to spent time with family and friends than earning more money. It is cultural difference between EU and rest of the world.\n\nImmigrants come to EU thinking of earning more fortune like Dubai or USA, so that they can send remittance back to home has just become a day dream. In reality these countries take half of your fortune in taxes and in return they give good water, clean air and almost peaceful life.

I have been living in Germany for 7 years now. I am only here because of my husband as he is doctor and he is a german citizen. However, living here has been horrible most of the time. Germans are not the most welcoming nor friendliest. On top that Germans complain why AÜSLANDER are not integrating the language. 1st it is hard and 2nd i think the english which be adopted into schools. Hopefully maybe it will attract more Skilled immigrants. Who has the time to speak a new language if you are looking for a job.

I am asian guy. It's been 32 years in Canada and I never had a girlfriend in Canada ?. Now I gave up meeting someone in Canada. Feeling lonely though at times, but I think Canada is still a good country to live. Definitely more opportunities here than places like Argentina, South Korea, etc. I go to Walmart to save money on groceries. Problem is I do feel lonely here, so in the future maybe I will try South East Asia to meet a girlfriend when I am older ?

I was allowed to grow up with and almost among them. At school, the children of Western European guest workers, including Turkey. \nWell Canada was always the brother of the States in my eyes. Student visa to Thailand, you can get it from Laos Thai embassy. I have done this once, you go to Thailand as tourist, register with a school, to study anything, thai language if you want, example 2 times a week 3 hours each time, super minimal study. The school will make a bus tour with the students to Laos embassy, 1 night there and you will have student visa.\nIf you want to tske it super easy, you can also study english language, just to make it easy, but of course learning thai would be helpful.\nIt wasn't a big school with lots of students, just a small offline building with 30-50 foreigner students,\nBest part is that you can go instantly, no need to wait in your home country for months to get a visa.\nI think you can stay 5 years with student visa if you continue your study, maybe you need a paper from the school once a year to proof you didn't drop out.

There are a lot more reasons to leave Canada other than the insanely high cost of living, which comes from inflation, a hidden tax, the higher crime or greater drug use. In general the quality of the people sucks, and what she may know but is not mentioning is the fact that it is only a matter of time before they institute digital mark of the beast central bank slave money in Canada. Then the government will control your money 100%, and will tell you what you can do or not do and thing or not think or poof, there goes your money. They are also paying farmers all over the place to stop growing food, because of climate change, lol, so there will be food shortages and energy shortages because that causes rises in co2, a gas that when doubled makes plants grow 50% faster. The ruling class in Canada has much worse plans for Canadians than they realize, and I wish people would be more honest and knowledgeable to talk about these things too. But yeah, economically in 10 years what it is going to be like in Canada will make what is happening now look like a stroll in the park.

We had not communicated in a long time BUT... I think you were surprized how much you enjoyed to exploration of Russia a few years ago but quality of life was very good then but even better now, but retaining the unmatched access to culture, very low cost of living much lower crime rate than Canada/US/Europe, and cost of living about 1/10th of Canada, great health and easy to get a residency and citizenship due to being from Ukraine originally. For your travels, it is a little more complicated due to US sanctions but from here in St Petersburg it is really easy to travel by bus to Estonia and fly anywhere in the world. Estonia is the cheapest cost of living in the Baltic. I have flown to California several times using that route and to London the flight is $50 euros. \nAlthough you explored a lot here there is so much more to see and experience.\nThere is no doubt the western countries that relied on cheap labor and resources from colonies are all in a downward spiral and the east is rising. All the BRICS countries have positive growth in quality life and economic growth and a total of 108 countries have either applied or expressed serious interest in joining the largest trade block in history while the US empire fades at an accellerating rate. I would not go back the the crime, homelessness, anger, poverty of the US but have family business to take care of every 4-5 years. Alina...you sound so much like your Dad. I hear you. It's tough for all of us to make a go of it now in Canada. My family's roots are all from Saskatchewan. They were farmers old time style with sections of land . \nOriginally from Sweden they immigrated from. When you are young it's easier to pickup and go elsewhere. I think this country is built on some amazing principles, but these are not workable in all contexts. Immigration should be limited by the resources we have to offer. You can't be all things to all people all of the time. I fear for this country. I grew up feeling such pride, now I feel genuine fear. And I don't really see a way out. Not that it's not possible. I just don't see the people who can make the necessary changes doing so.

It's easy to immigrate, you're in the same timezone as most of the English-speaking audience (that makes the most money per view) and Mexico (and Canada) have extremely comprehensive tax treaties with the US and endless MOUs and so on, which make dealing with Google and the IRS super easy. My impression is that Canada has few opportunities for immigrants. They have to have local experience before they can get a job in their fields, but that creates a Catch-22 situation. Also, the Canadian economy is not doing too well, with low productivity, minimal investments in research and development, and an over-dependence on extractive industries and real estate. I think your family emigrated there at the right time, when Canada was at its best.

Same story, also moved to Canada(French Canada!!! :D) when I was 4, I'm 32, been in Canada like 24 years. Easy fit, my Dad was Canadian, so got Naturalized easily. I left Canada at the end of 2020. Mostly because of Covid/Work Opportunities in engineering. Now living in the USA with my Canadian Wife and visiting Canada 2 months every year, also happen to be born American, so again, easy(easier**, still hard) move for me. Currently working in engineering, less travel experience, but I did get to visit or work for long period of time in 5 countries. Anyway, I do have similar opinion, I think the solution is a federal housing initiative. We NEED to build north and have more cities than Toronto,Montreal & Vancouver. It would reduce rent & mortgage by a lot. Essentially solving the ''where are we going to put all those immigrants issue'', then secondly, we need to encourage entrepreneurship and business a lot more. We need more jobs and be less reliant on our USA neighbors or EU neighbors 3. Better transport, surprisingly a lot of Canadian don't visit all other Canadian province and prefer traveling out , hell, I want nothern Canada & Nothern Quebec to be more like Alaska, or make it easier from someone from Quebec to move to Alberta, but still easy enough to visit family and friends in their home state in under 3 hours. ;)

Now memory came back to me when I was in Vancouver for 3 days and enjoyed my time over Canada in 2015 for a concert, Canada was the first country I've visited outside of the United States I'll never for get it the people where amazing very polite there was a moment in my life that I wanted to move to Canada now thinking over my decision after some years later I'm glad I didn't. I can't believe how bad it has gotten I'm now sure its gotten worse now. It's just really sad for the babies & children that get pushed into it by their parents. No child should die or drown because of pushbacks. Think EU needs a new system, either a centre outside of Europe where you can only apply there, and others are sent there or send back to their country. Countries that don't allow it, will be out of trade, business and no more international help until they take those back. Time to prevent, and not kill.

Justin Trudeau and the liberals have destroyed this Country. I was born and raised in Canada in a town in Ontario along one of the Great Lakes Lake Erie. My parents and even their parents were born and raised in that same area I am from and Canada was a great place but since Justin Trudeau become PM everything started to change and not in a slow unnoticeable way it was fast. Drugs and homelessness started to become a thing something I have never seen in my life and even my neighbourhood and town started to change too with people that don't speak english and wait times in the ER started to be so much longer and even finding a doctor when I moved to the city was impossible to get. I have not traveled much only in a car or truck and never been on a airplane but I am considering moving out of Canada too. I am going to wait and see what happens in the election and see if things begin to charge before I leave the only place I know and start new somewhere else. I have been thinking of Southeast Asia like Laos or Thailand because there Canadian funds are worth something and you can live and at for very cheap and get a very nice place for half or less of what rent is here.

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. It's said that where we are is where we're supposed to be. I may as well take my chances, make the best of a crappy situation and stay here. There really is no better or worse place than Canada. The majority of the countries in the world are struggling with their own problems. I'm not willing to jump from the frying pan into the fire. One of the biggest reasons I want to stay in Canada is that if it does come to a nuclear shooting war it would be very unlikely that Canada would be attacked. So here I'll stay. For better or worse. The LIberals won't be in power forever and if people have the smallest amount of sense, so few will vote for them in the next election that the Liberals will lose party status. I fervently hope that happens. ;)

I´ve been contacted multiple times by German companies to work there and the difference with other countries is quite interesting. Places like Denmark or the Netherlands offer you help in anything you may need as well as using english to work while leaving the local language as optional, but in German positions it all seems to be about demanding from you without giving much in return. \n\nI don´t think that it as good strategy if your country has a labour shortage, specially of skilled labour because it is also demanded in many other countries that are simply better options.

One think Germany could start and do is to fix the university application for international students. in theory they are super attractive with almost no tuition (ok 99% of courses are in German). But it runs on a German cycle months later than most other countries.... You can't start applying before May 15th for the next school year. that is 7 months later than the UK, Netherlands, Belgium etc, Meaning that by the time applications start in Germany, if you applied in those others countries you most likely got an offer already. In fact, my son applied also in Germany and only today got his high school diploma certified. took Uni-assist the government portal 5 weeks to do that. now he can submit that to the uni where he applied and who knows when they will make a decision. meanwhile he has other offers in equally good schools.

I think that the 2 leaders of opposing countries, religions, “teams” whatever, they should meet, promising everyone is safe, promising to each other n keeping their promise, and they should have dinner or lunch, maybe breakfast. But they should face to face, share a meal and talk. I promise u that things would change for the better. We all should do this. There would be way less war, eventually none. All people have the right to practice their religion but when you move to a new country, you can’t expect that country to change everything for your religion you have to adapt you have to share you have to compromise, and this is the problem with some people not all in different religions not just Muslims There are many people in society that take their religion to the extreme and that’s the problem. I can’t believe that these two actually expect or assume there’s something wrong with Canada because there’s no daily five times alarm that their prayer should be practised in every city in Canada at least two people speak very good English. To answer the question with another question, why do you think that adding 10 million immigrants to a country with a relatively small population in just 11 years was going to turn out well? \n\n10 million is roughly one-third of what Canada's population was 11 years ago. It is one-quarter of today's population. How was this not going to cause housing shortages and stress the social/health and education systems, overcrowd schools, and clog roads and public transport? How was it not going to grow homelessness and tent cities?\n\n10 million in 11 years were simply too many people in too short a time period. One has to ask whether this was deliberate or whether the federal government is lacking in powers of reasoning. I suspect both.

In Canada, immigration (landed, foreign students, temporary foreign workers) is a HUGE business. Dont let those working in the field (who directly benefit from it) gaslight you into thinking otherwise, like the guy who was interviewed at the end of the clip (time: 11 min and later).
