There is nothing wrong with immigration. What needs to happen is we need faster processing to get these people working. There are doctors, nurses and others sitting on welfare waiting to actually fill these jobs. Every hospital is crying for staff. Senior's homes also. They take jobs that the lazy Canadians don't want or are too proud to do. I was trying to hire labourers and plenty of times was told they wouldn't get out of bed for less than twenty dollars. FFS

So sad watching this country burn to the ground and being unable to stop it! Bringing in people to fill the labour gaps when you have all these discarded canadians sitting around now doing nothing struggling to find a job to afford how expensive everything is. Were not talking minimum wage jobs. You need to make at least $20-25/ hour just to afford a bachelor apartment! It's crazy!

Just got this video suggestion and it's about 5 years old so I hope this has already been addressed. I can't fathom the fact that so many people can get away with it. I just hope all behind this are either deported with no chance to return to Canada ever and any citizen jailed for a long time. It is not fair for law abiding citizens. I see many homes once occupied by a family go for sale and become an apartment building for students and/or immigrants. So many people going into the homes that traffic increased many times , moving trucks any time of the month (they must rent by day or week?) and they really pack them in. A 4 bedroom home can see 10 people in it, they don't use the driveway, it sits empty in most of the homes that sold for this purpose . They are generally quit and very inconspicuous except for the people in and out all the time with backpacks on. My only complaint is they they move, they trash the furniture on the side of the street for the neighborhood to enjoy until the city picks it up. \n\nThe person owning that home is making bank on the rentals. so I see why they don't want to stop this.

I am 66 , I had to take my ill wife to emergency at the Peterborough hospital about 3 months ago. After sitting for 2.5 hours in an over crowded emergency room, I asked how much longer before we see a doctor. We were told by a nurse it would be another few hours at least and it could be up to 5 more hours after that to see the specialist she needed. So the wait could be 10.5 hours, we waited 2 more hours, then we got up and left. If we ever go back it will be in an ambulance. But to be honest We are done with this broken, rotting health care system. I blame the bum that has destroyed this country and destroyed the Canadian health care system.

Canada sucks because our prime minister used to be a part-time, substitute dramatic arts teacher... sometimes even teaching French to kindergarten kids, wearing a kilt (let me remind you kindergarten kids sit on the floor... We've got 80k orphans in Canada (last estimate I read). If our families cannot support our own children....because they don't have financially stable families, or they've been abandoned by parents who couldn't support these kids....then how can we justify taking on 'workers' who are essentially orphans from other countries? Foreign peoples are claiming our birth rates are too low...but if we've got abandoned kids sitting there this is obviously a false statement. Those kids were displaced by foreign workers...with their families. Foreign workers are realizing this....and those that didn't find jobs are leaving.

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries.. there are issues in every country. Living in Canada for 13 years has been a wonderful experience. Where I live, you might reach -40 in winter at the same time you can sit inside your home wearing a t shirt. In summer, it turns into paradise. Remember both wife and Husband has to work. Otherwise stay in India.

I worked in the mines of Northern Ontario have had two wives and six children payed high child support and spousal support. But just before I was ready to retire I had no more responsibilities and I got to keep my pension. I brought a house twenty years ago in Newfoundland where I am from and put it in my Mother's name. I am now retired with a payed for home which I heat with a wood cook stove, electric base boards but never need them and have solar panels and wind turbines but I am still hooked up to the grid but my bill is 40 dollars.I don't have internet or Netflix only a cell phone with a 100 gigabytes download.I run my tv off solar power that charges golf cart batteries also have a generator to charge the battery bank .I download off of YouTube and other places to a 1 terabyte hard drive that run thru my laptop and have that backuped . I have a ham radio. 250 gallon water tank just in case the village I live in the water goes out. I have a water flush toilet and a compost toilet. My property has apple trees and very productive raised beds to grow food, I also fish and hunt small game but I buy beef and pork that is free range and grass fed from a local butcher. There are many ATV trails around here, we have a gas station and small grocery store which I try to buy as much as possible from to support local employment. I have a side by side ATV with a nice back box , insurance and gas cost nothing. I used to have a truck but got rid of it because I didn't need it to get around plus I enjoy the ride in the side by side. The only draw back is to many people drink and drive around here and young people on drugs who steal.. I have pension and benefits and traveled for five years before I came back here. I get restless for excitement but remember it's a time to be quiet. Don't crave others company and I am pretty healthy, the only stress I have is to figure out what I am going to do that day. Yes I have to work to get wood and grow food but I could sit on my ass all day if I felt like it but you got to keep yourself in shape. I watch a lot documentaries and read e books but have my favorite books in paper. It does get boring but boring is good and you must be happy with what you got and no I don't need a partner remember I was married twice and everything was about what they wanted and not me.. I have gotten used to not answering to anyone or having to meet their needs and wants.. yes I am happy and don't have to struggle

Good for you. I think all Muslims living in the West especially those with young children should follow suit. Many Muslims parents don't realize the negative effects of public schools and western society's influences on their children until it's too late. Australia, same thing ,the average house out of reach unless you earn big$$$, population boost with lack of infrastructure and homes, rent sky-rocketing, even rentals are hard to get 1%vacancy in big cities. Feel sorry for the young people. Governments sold all the tax payers utilities that employed many people and keep the costs of essentials down. I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

Toronto has BEEN trash, pay 2500$ a month to live in a shoe box and sit in traffic. If you want to move to Toronto just move to one of the many citys surrounding it almost every one is a better option.

it shouldn't even be a question. we are accepting way too many. it would not be a problem if we spent the last decade or two focusing on improving health care, expanding transportation and infrastructure, attracting jobs, building homes and so on. unfortunately we didn't do that sufficiently. we haven't even started to see the implications of this yet. in 5-10 years time the situation for everyone is going to be more dire than it has been in the last 1-2 years. we are in for very rough times all because we have an addiction to electing utterly useless governments no matter which side of the ideological aisle they sit on. if you think there's a lack of housing, not enough doctors, overcrowded transit systems etc now, it'll be a shock in years time. even if we started to improve these things now, it is not going to keep up to the demand

I don’t think the student’s are a problem as much as immigration itself.\nCanada has been very negligent the way immigrants were taking in to the Country. Instead of letting these immigrants responsibly come into the Country , they were stampeding into Canada without anyone watching that these people even were eligible or not. If home prices drop because there is more homes being built that gives everyone an advantage. I don't even know what percentage of people own 100% of their home but I don't think it's that many, and that's going to drop significantly as well. I know there's tons of studies done yearly on the effects of stability on children and mental health, good grades, good health. All these things generally improve with safety and stability and it's consistent. If you are someone who can actually afford to buy your own house, you could just buy a cheaper house and invest the rest in something else. It's actually better to have diversity than to sit there hoping no one builds houses so you can maintain some high value property. And this likely will lead to a collapse as well. It's unavoidable in the long term

Toronto people complain that really all they get is two, true warm months of summer. June is sort of warm, but it can be cold at night and suffer cold snaps. Finally warm August comes to an end. While many Americans to the south struggle through an Indian summer of continued high heat into September and even early October, September brings the cold temperatures back to Canada, not yet freezing, mind you, but full autumn where the jackets have to come out and you don't see the welcome, warm, sunny sunshine and the ability to sit outdoors wearing thin clothing.

A big part..........at least here in Vancouver why the healthcare system is broken here is due to the ongoing opioid crisis. The downtown eastside where many of the homeless and drug addicts live is known as the vortex because it sucks in all 1st responders across the lower mainland. Yet when someone who lives somewhere else in the city needs an ambulance you are screwed. Last year I had to wait over 8 hours for an ambulance........I live less then 10 minutes away from the nearest hospital. Because I couldn't move I had to sit there while my roommate had to call 9-11 over a dozen times to get me an ambulance. Doctors are even telling people to take a cab to the hospital if they can walk, because it's faster. \n\nAnd even when I finally got to emergency I had to wait hours to get looked at. The doctor didn't see me for almost 6 hours while i'm lying there screaming in pain. And this was on a Tuesday night, not even a weekend.

For seasonal affective disorder, get a Biomat. It heats up the body and makes a difference. I actually find the mini Biomat more useful because I can sit on it all day. Smaller and not as powerful as the full-size Biomat, but way more hours.

Having lived in Canada, I can understand many of your arguments. A question to the wife: would you give up your right to sit equal to your husband and express your personal views when leaving Canada? Because you will surely have no equal rights in countries that practice strict Islamic law.
