I understand. I'm going back to Europe after 17 years!! I'm a certified teacher with a brilliant teaching career in Europe and I cannot teach here. Everything is so expensive and I cannot make it anymore. I agree, it's just very sad, it's our life, our dream. I came to Canada with a lot of love and with the willingness to give all my heart, potential, abilities and skills. I cannot make it anymore...my soul and heart are slowly dying. I'm 55, I cannot end my life working two or more jobs and moving every two to four years because landlords keep kicking out of the house old tenants because they raise the rents. Over $3000 a month. Who can afford that? I'm a single mom. Buying a house is impossible as well...\nSo I'm going back to my country. I'm packing my 17 years of life in a few suitcases in one hand, and my son on the other hand. My heart feels heavy and abundant tears are falling off my eyes, but I'm sure that we are going toward a brighter future and surrounded with the love of family and friends.

I have been their in europe …few countries …i felt the completely opposite behaviour with what with this guy …I have been aggressive sometimes with people …once I was in paris …I threw a chair on the mirror in the place I was staying …the hotel staff was still polite …and big lad nigga gatekeeper …put me out …and gave me a cigarette …police once has some security boundation ..not letting anybody go even the native people ..they let me …once in a club native people were being rejected ..but let me in … i must say people being ,even police being extra nice even more than native people , common people ,everrybody , wherever I have been , I had special treatment like I am from another world …their …in amsterdam also …girls coming to me ..saying I want to talk to u ..one was very elegant American girl she was very cute …I was drunk …concurrently few more…I saw her next day ..i said hi …she was sitting outside ..long story …I loved such treatment …but I know things are not same for everybody …such incidents should be addressed appropriately but same time not be spreaded …because that draws a line between the communities , which is not good and which made a wrong perception about communities ,not all are such fools ..i see such foolish behaviour of the people of same communities..here in india or anywhere in the word ..labelling it a act of racism..i think it would do more wrong than good to the purpose ..i don’t believe racism exist to me …if someone call me black ..I will say you are white …thats it …we see white people or black people or people native from same place fighting each other …I think it is just a act of foolish guy try to humiliating another guy …which has to be addressed properly but not to be labelled as racism ..that further draws the line and create wrong perception…racism exists because of inferiority complex.. if somebody calls someone black or something like that … if that person has inferiority complex he will feel humiliated…. that inferiority complex has to be eradicated ..so all feel equal …so if someone call black … reply should be u r white ..i think so …

Unlike most of the comments here, I absolutely love being a Canadian. I have a rare health condition and the government covers 100% of my medicine costs which is thousands of dollars a month. It’s also safe here and there’s so much opportunity. I immigrated when I was 4 years old from Pakistan and even when I go back to visit, Canada is like heaven on earth compared to Pakistan. The medicine I need to live a healthy is isn’t even made or offered in Pakistan. I’ll forever be a proud Canadian. Thank you Canada ❤

I'm all for immigration to help a country grow however, what Canada has done is first, bring in too many at once and not INTEGRATED the new comers. \n\nFact is, if you want to go to a country because of their freedom and job opportunity then don't come and try to change the country into what you just fled from!!\n\nAnd this is what has happened. Canada has allowed our laws and even speech change to cater to a foreign culture and political idea. Canada became great for what it was and ways it was not for socialism and other country politics. We've got road sign in Pakistan and some in Mandarin and some in blah blah blah. Too many languages creates divide and this is the other issue. Our own country, a country that designates french or English has signs and communities designated in foreign languages. This is not acceptable and is a cause creating divide. You come, you learn the language and INTEGRATE! We loved our country, you wanted to come for what our country has so don't try to turn it into the country you fled! And stop alienating the people who were here before you. \n\nSo, these are the two BIG ISSUES Canadians complain about. Rightfully so. \n\nI myself don't live in Ontario but find Alberta has become a foreign country and I feel like I am in danger now in my own lands. Integration is so important, and Trudeau bringing in millions in a short time line did not integrate but now caused a great deal of violence and many new comers confused and hateful to Canadians when they simply don't understand that what they have done is not integrate but are overtaking and we feel at war with them.

I would not go into the north east Calgary India Enclave for any reason -- it is a foreign country now. Chinatown (can I even call it that) is lovely, great food, nice people. I love the Italian, German, African sections and cultures in the town. But India simply takes over.

Canada is more like many countries rather than just one. Canada is HUGE ! it has 6 time zones ! I moved to SASKATCHEWAN from the UK 20 years ago, I love living here, I will never go back. ?

If you are to still go to Canada, for the love of god and your wallet dont go to Quebec\n\nIts actually one of the worst in terms of taxes.\n\nTo give yall an idea, I make 34 an hour where I work, and out of about 1.3k per week I get, I get... 800. A whopping 1/3 of my income is eaten by taxes, because we are the only province to have 2 taxes : provincial taxes and federal taxes.\n\nThe economy here is horrid.

TLDR; I am an person from a wartorn, oppressive country, and I unfortunately do not have many options to choose from other than Canada to have a chance for a better life.\n\nLet me tell you from the perspective of a person whose dream is to come to Canada: I know all this already, I know things are going terribly and the cost of living has gone up significantly. But the unfortunate thing is, the country I am from, is currently in turmoil. I do not fit in there as a person and hate the culture. Its incredibly corrupt with no growth. I am more western, and open minded, and my original country is a strict Islamic country. I do not fit there at all.\n\nI know Canada has all these problems, but its my only choice for a better future, I dont want to go to US because I dont wanna die, also, EU wont accept me unless I am from EU myself or speak their language which is a catch 22. Australia is also becoming a shithole. That leaves Canada and NZ. NZ doesnt have that good of job prospects and limited scope and I love Canada, always have. The weather and everything that comes with it.\n\nYes its not perfect, but I think its more about knowing that I can go back to a place, that is not dangerous for me and my future family, where I will get good care if I am stable job wise. Once I am in Canada, I will probably buy my own land and use that to have a trailer home there since they are still cheap, save my money, and probably retire in Philippines. \n\nI dont believe everyone else should do that and yes I know trailer's costs depreciates with time, unlike a house, but I dont care about that. I dont think of houses as investment and I never will nor I will participate in that practice. Everyone has a right for home.

No person in his sane state of mind will ever consider to move to Canada now! I moved here 22 yrs back through the immigration point system and I'm desperately planning to get the hell outta here. Trudeau and his corrupt policies has destroyed the Canada that I loved till a few years back. All he cares about is filling his Voter bank and has brought in so many refugees that cannot be housed unless he taxes the average Canadian. I feel like moving as a lifelong Canadian. I love people and love culture. I don't like extremists. \n\nMy problem is simply I don't our government is ethical nor caring to it's citizens, and as far as immigrants go, I am absolutely all for it with a reasonable rate without displacement or a negative sum on people that have built families here already. You can't just say we want to help and not give one thought about implications whatsoever. \n\nWhere I live you can't add thousands of people without thinking about making roards wider or more busses.\n\nWe don't look like idiots, we are. Let's welcome a host of new beautiful people into out country and not have a single plan in place besides pay for their housing (not necessarily bad), pay for their transportation (not necessarily bad), and allow a rent bubble to put our welcoming citizens with Trades to live in tents.\n\nHow about this as a sane alternative, the billions of dollars in road tax from gas prices which hasn't improved the roads, and the billions from legalized gambling...how about we audit our government and take a hard and difficult look as to where all this tax money goes, and more importantly the detailed justification? \n\nSame thing, same day. Canada has to be corrupt as the day is long OR our greatness was built on an history of lies. I spent a couple yrs downtown Toronto when I was in my older teen years and that was before the open drug issue and even back then it was bad u had to watch out for being robbed or r@p*d it was so bad back then I ended up going back home and choose jail over the streets. Got my shit over and done with and since then life has been good changed my life 360 and have a loving family 2 sons and now I’m up living in Algonquin (beautiful area)

I have dual citizenship. Born in Canada. I have a beautiful American mom and a French Canadian dad. I lived in Florida and Maine. Came back to Canada. I always come back to Canada. USA is awesome, but in small doses. I can see myself going back for a couple years when my kids have have all graduated. Universities and health care is more affordable in Canada. Generally, more chill and less amped up as well. lol. I love both my countries though.

Pains me so deeply. I work at a Hotel. Without going into detail, we house so many refugees from Sudan, Nigeria, Ukraine etc. completely for free. They are all lovely people for the most part don't mistake my meaning, but I seldom hear of such programs addressing widespread actual Canadian citzen homeless housing, nor have any of the refugees at my Hotel been Canadian citizens born and raised who were granted asylum. \n\nThe other day I had to kick out a homeless gentleman from my hotel who was sleeping in the heated stair-wells. My manager instructed me to contact the non-emergency police number and get them to escort him out and/or possibly trespass him. He was compliant, not rude and understanding and wasn't causing any property damage or bothering anyone, nor consuming drugs or anything of the sort. It pained my heart and it reminded me of the risks I may face in the future considering how fucked the housing is.\n\n100%, and I mean 100%, of the new employees we've hired in the Hotel are Indian students here on student-visas, or refugees (many Ukrainians and one African lady). And 0% of the people being housed at my Hotel are Canadian born citizens. Disgusting mess of a country with all thanks owing to J.T.

Unfortunately our fellow citizens will fight tooth and nail because they don’t want to pay taxes . Inflation is higher than what they say.. real estate prices are out of touch with the actual wages and salaries.. cost of food is unbelievable… rent is ridiculous.. Wages are laughable.. taxes are insane.. we are also taxed on so many things on top of income tax such as .environment, carbon, plastic, sugar tax etc… it is insane.. Healthcare is going through crisis… Getting MRI takes ages.. So now they wanna bring 500k in the midst of all this ? It is going to screw us more .. I also feel sorry for the migrants who are moving out here with lots of hope and ambitions… I also feel sorry for us .. stress = mental health issues….. This government screwed each one of us.. what they are doing doesn’t make any sense to me. They are out of touch with reality.. If I didn’t have family in Canada, I would go back to the USA. Vastly overpriced here. Lacking tremendous leadership, yet America is presently worse. My hope though is the recovery rate is better in the USA. Global respect and support is far better in USA. A melting pot mindset rather than major diversity….better weather also. Yikes, I better get going.\nOne thought though….Canada should not sit back and say how the world loves Canadians due to their past contributions. As an immigrant from Europe (not a country with a high level of poverty or a war), I arrived here in 2016 and I can say I love Canada, a very welcoming country. While I see lots of immigrants returning to their countries or going to other places, this country is amazing, offering tons of possibilities to entrepreneurs, business people and with a wide variety of possibilities. Yes, housing is an issue but it is in many rich countries. I also see a lot of people like me, happy about what they have and what they built. I travelled the world (Australia, Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Asia) and I can guarantee, there is no perfect place. So find the place that suits you best. Do not expect perfection. It does not exist.
