This was the correct decision because the US wants bring jobs back to the USA. Jobs in Mexico vs USA trump will choose jobs in the US; Politely subsidized lumber from Canada vs lumber from the USA easy decision; Dairy from Oh' Canada , a short term squeeze. Many immigrants I know are now realizing that you just can’t come here and live a life while sending money back home. Why do those of us on the political left keep allowing those on the political right to dictate the terms of public conversations, even when we have the facts on our side? It is estimated that 1.7% of the world population is biologically intersex. That's roughly the same as the percentage of the world population that is naturally redheaded. Trump's executive order states that the US government only recognizes two biological sexes.  This means that as far as the US government is concerned, biologically intersex people don't exist. This is analogous to having an executive order saying redheads do not exist.  It's nonsense.  So, why aren't biologists from all over the country pointing this out? The percentage of the world population that identifies as transgender is at most 0.6%.  So why are we talking about transgender people when there is a larger group of people that Trump's executive order discriminates against?  Here's why: because folks on the left insist on allowing those on the right to set the terms of almost every debate we have in this country and folks on the right are happy to ignore intersex people (whose existence conclusively establish that their views are false) and those of us on the left stupidly follow their example in doing so. If we are serious about protecting trans people, we need to be smart about this. Let us reframe the public debate to focus on intersex people.  This will make exposing the lunacy of Trump's executive order much easier when engaging a general public that is too ignorant, lazy, and indifferent to educate themselves about trans people. So, let's help out the lazy ignorant masses by adopting a simpler (and more science-based) approach to the debate over whether there are two biological sexes by making the simple, scientifically sound observation that biological sex is bimodal, not a binary.  And not amount of executive orders can ever change that fact.
