I’m here for last 6 years but I’d like to tell people - Canada is not the place to come and never ever make this mistake . Economy literally zero, school system - other than real education they teach you everything which is of useless in life, medical care - people have been waiting to see doctor for over 2 years, income tax is 50% which is you’ll never get anything as take home. There are way too many society issues that she’s not able to cover because of the limited time she lived here. There’s no social structure, festivals, support, mentally everyone’s weak, almost all food is GMO which will make you patient forever. Every family who came here post covid is struggling. Most of us are planning to return to motherland sooner or later ?? India is the best place for well rounded life always and many people are moving back including our group

I lived two years in the south of the usa (in Texas) during my childhood in the 90's and it wasn't so bad. Weather was great ! People nice and great ! I did love the school there, I learn English there and math was super easy. In Canada, I went in a catholic schools and we were obligated to say a prayer before class begin. In Texas in my elementary school, everyone is up in the morning before class and there is a swear thing to say not the betray the USA with the right hand on the heart of our chest… \nSo… First day of school in an other country, in an other language that I didn't understand or speak, I did joined my hands together . I was correct by my classroom teacher and make me a sign to do like the other kids. So I did. I had told my parents they pray also before class but in a different way ?\nIn time I learn how to say the words without knowing it's true meaning. Well before I realize what it was when I was able to understand the language, I always sure it was a prayer ?\nCultural choc

I live in Toronto and I am not rich. I am regular person. \nIf you are an immigrant and especially if you are considered from visible minority group aka not white, DO NOT leave Toronto at all ! Work hard and make it work for you. I am sure the majority people from your coutires in Canada are located in Toronto and its close cities. If you chose to live outside this multicultural heaven called Toronto then expect to deal with deep racism. Yes people in Canada are rasicst althogh it is not openly like USA.\nIf you are into education and you want to do your degree, move to Montreal. Tuition fees in Montreal are way more cheaper than in Toronto or other parts of Canada. I lived in Montreal before and I went to university there. Montreal is great for education, aba rent are cheaper than Toronto but not for living there if you are visible immigrant. You will never feel you belong down there. Where as in Toronto, you will feel you belong to it within 30 mins max of you arruval. Toronto's motto are : you belong here and we have been waiting for you.\n62%of people in Toronto weren't born in Canada. You will find your community from your country in Toronto and the people are well established. I have been in different cities in Canada and I always felt stranger, even cities as close as ashawa.\nIn conclusion I would say to the visible minority immigrants stay in Toronto as much as you can for work and if you want to study in university go to Montreal. Lucky you , you did not stay there in the winter or else you would have committed suicide ??.. only job in the winter is to pee come back & watch TV & blow every day snow from the drive way … yes every day ? but I do not live in Canada, I have many family members living there I keep going there as well , I am settled in the US .. but the so called problems of yours in Canada is the same here in the US as well but for me these are the things I love love out here …. Particular about timings , no one comes home without calling , every one is of same standard, kids don’t have to study like donkeys day & night … ( for what ) … out here to have a RV, a boat , suv , saloon car , a bike for summer ride are within every ones reach … at-least that was all my dream … I live in a city yet I have a private 1/2 acre private plot whereas in Mumbai I will have to be a film star ?? here there is no hanji hunji .. I hated the most …out here anywhere we go we take our token number & we are looked after accordingly lastly out here in the west the most amazing thing & the most important thing in life is .. let’s say your business is lost or your job is gone your neighbour’s don’t care you can start from scratch again .. In India one has to commit suicide ????

Obviously if he has a personal driver in Nigeria, then he is part of a very wealthy minority back home, thus his experience and life is much better back home. Canada has better equality in every way than Nigeria & in my own home country as well, if you want to be in a country that tries to give a decent quality of life for everyone equally and not just a high quality of life for a small minority, then he's right, stay in Nigeria. Canada will humble you if you don't have the competitiveness to earn a good life, it's a country designed to serve the masses, not just you personally. The doctor has many other patients to see, they don't have time to hang out with you buddy.

I can't talk from a point of experience in Canada but from a point of experience in Kenya. Yes things are tough everywhere but I believe things are tuffer here in Kenya, well unless you have a good job, good business or money to invest. I have done of research about Canada, Germany, UK and even Finland. What I have learnt is that opportunities are there as opposed to Kenya. Here in Kenya it's doesn't matter if you have a skill, or papers getting a job is not easy and even harder is getting a good paying job. Most people makes less 10 CAdollars per day which today 1000 or 30 per month minimum wage in Canada is i guess 14.5 in the less expensive provinces. If you work 14 hours per \nDay which I believe possible you have about uko na 20k in ksh, pay tax of maybe 30% combined you have about 130 cad per day work for 25 days in a month you will have about 3250 net stay in most affordable place(hujaenda raha) you can get 1250 in low cost province (not Ontario or BC though here minimum wage iko juu), groceries and expenses budget 1000 per month you can save about 100k ksh pm, save in Cad for few years stay like a student on the budget but work like a donkey. Come back home in few years lets say 5 with save coins probably CAD will trading at 150 coz the hit shilling is taking mind-blowing. You will have 6m to invest any interest or forex gain use them to cover your vacation here in Kenya yes land in Diani you will have missed such weather, enda masai Mara (you deserve it), go visit your parents and most importantly find an investment opportunity you can do real estate but find ideal location but only if you have enough capital ya kujenga and then find someone professional to manage the construction not sending money to your relatives wanapiga sherehe nazo unatumiwa picha za mjengo za nyumba za wenyewe. Pia farming is underated buy a farm land in cheap area ukambani, laikipia, kajiado, taita etc at max 200k per acre 10 acres ni 2m borehole 1.5m with solar and pump. Development such as fenching and service quarters driplines 1m. 1.5 m is working capital ,use it for labour fertilizer, seeds and seedlings. Divide the farm into 5 parts along the fence panda miti ya eucalyptus, other parts do high value perennial cash crops with less management cost like 2 acres of avocado, 2 acres of pixes oranges, lime, the other 2 plant seasonal rotational plants you can even maize, cabbages io ingine do livestock of your choice. If you want low risk investment buy government bond less stress and you are sure government can never fail to repay their local currency bonds ata ikiwa bankrupt coz they can always print more money. Now rates are very high assuming you can get 10% rates with your 6m your will earn 600k risk free income. Your vacation is over, now go back to Canada and work like a donkey because you went there to work, not a vacation. I feel the same way about my hometown of Halifax. It's impossible to live here, now. It's impossible to live anywhere in Nova Scotia. Nova Scotians are poor. We are a poor province. We cannot afford 1M+ dollars for a three bedroom house. Common Nova Scotians just don't have that kind of money. Regular folks cannot afford a 5K/month mortgage. I live with my family in an apartment, with a leaky roof and cockroaches, in a decent neighbourhood, and it's 2160.00/month and I know this is a good deal in this city. Crime is rising here, as well, because jobs are disappearing and wages aren't increasing. I think this is country wide. We have a huge homeless problem in Halifax, and it is not following the past statistics. Most of the people living in tents have full-time jobs and families. But, there are literally thousands of empty houses. New appartments and condos get built, and there are no vacancies before the building is open. And not a single person is living in them. They get bought by out of province and out of country investors to fortify their investment portfolios. This is ridiculous. What is happening?

Well, I immigrated to Toronto from Ukraine 27 years ago, and it was a good decision at that time. Learning English definitely makes more sense and easier than switching to a rural Ukrainian dialect, which sounds to me like a mockery of Russian. However, today Moscow looks definitely better. There are also plenty of immigrants from former Soviet Asian republics but no trace of homeless, drug-addicted and mentally sick people, very clean and well-maintained city. Just see some of Alina's videos from Russia. For me, the only problem is the cold climate. Toronto is way more southern, and I became too old to change my life. Perhaps when I retire I will go back to the former Ukraine if my Crimea will be a safe part of Russia by that time.

As an Australian who visited Toronto some years ago, I have to be honest and say that I really didn''t like it. I found the people to be rude and unfriendly, the services in shops amateurish (to put it mildly) and generally the city came across as a big overgrown concrete hellscape, unpleasant and not endearing. The ethnic neighbourhoods were the best thing about it, but that's not enough. I MUCH preferred Montreal, its people, vibe, culture and built environment, which didn't come across as having sold its soul to real estate and commercialism either. I've been to every major city in Australia and if we were to compare them to Toronto, as English-speaking 'new world' cities, they are all a thousand times more beautiful and better, in every way possible, except for choices of cuisine, where they're equal, although Melbourne still beats all in this regard, as well as coffee.

I would much rather live in the USA, just way more things to do, can live in any climate I want, more fun, more outgoing people. People view America though the lens of the media, which only talks about the bad and people get brainwashed by this. No other country works so well with the amount of diversity America has (Canada is not close), it is a very tolerant country, we even broadcast individual instances of racism to the whole world, no other country does that. I make more money here, more opportunities. Just my opinion though, to each their own, I have a blast in America.

I moved 26yrs ago from Kenya. I've worked in the social services sector in USA and I can tell you that I have seen poverty here on a level that most people in Kenya will never understand until the land over here. The mind control, plus debt, plus high cost of medical care etc keeps people stuck. I have surrendered completely and made my peace. Life is better for people who come straight from the village or they are escaping abuse etc. But if youre doing well in Kenya, I would just stay there. But remember neocolonialists have already made their way into Kenya and life won't be much different once they get their fangs into the system.

1. Canada's immigration is primarily skilled labour. Non- skilled labour is imported mostly from the Carribean countries especially Jamaica and you have to leave every year and come back in the next. So, that can be disruptive, but I've met Jamaican's who've been on those programs and done well as well as those who haven't.\n2. If you come to Canada illegally utakipata. Be prepared to hustle for long.\n3. Since Covid everything has become very expensive especially housing. \n4. The videos you've shown of people sleeping outside is because of an increase in the influx of refugees wanting to come to Canada. Refugee shelters are allocated money in the budget for what the Govt estimates will be the number of refugees they'll take in, but there's been an influx lately.\n- A point to note though, ALL refugees Canada received from Ukraine had jobs within 2 months. Why? very skilled labour.\n- Canada's refugee policy is much more lenient than in the US and thus most refugees have been coming to Canada even from the US. The US ones have since been blocked by an agreement signed by both countries.\n5. Are there jobs in Canada? YES, but they require certain skills. The good thing is that once you get one, its the beggining of good fortunes.\n6. If you have skilled qualifications, be prepared to start at a lower level than you are used to and claw your way up. Just don't expect to start where you left off. A Nigerian friend of mine who had performed several surgeries in Nigeria could not be hired until he went back to get certified here in Canada. He has since joined the medical field after going back to school.\n\nAll in all, research, research, research before you make any move.

Hi Lynn. First of, I would like to say that I'm such a huge fan of yours. Since you started at Tuko and still following to date. You are an inspiration to me and so many people out there. I love and respect what you stand for and your work. I completely resonate with everything you are about. Second, I've lived in Canada for over 30 years now. I am Eritrean and was born in Kenya. Moved to Canada when I was about 9 and have lived here since with my family. I have to say that for us, Canada has been a God Send. It has helped us in so many ways, and we are so grateful for the opportunities and life it has given my family. From health care to schooling and job opportunities. We also cane here in 1989. So times and cost of living was very different than it is now. Of course, times have changed now, and the economy and standard of living have too. There are pros and cons to everywhere we live in the world. Everyone is different and has different experiences. There are various factors that may affect everyone's perspectives and experiences when they come to Canada, whether it was a long time ago or recently. Some factors could be, weather, economy, feeling lonely ( no family), language barriers, support...etc. Change is not easy at all and can affect t your whole emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Social life here is also not like it us back home...just alot of factors. People here work and work to make it. My mom brought us here as a single widowed mom. My sister and I were very young. But she was determined to give us a better life and worked her whole life, and it has paid off. It depends on how you look at everything and what your goal is. My mother was determined and made it happen and has raised us on her own very successfully. She loves Canada and appreciates it for everything it has done for us. Everyone's experiences are different. You have to do your research before coming and come with an open mind. Overall... Canada for us has been a blessing. \n\nI hope that helps somehow. I just think there is alot of problems where kenyans are concerned\n\n1. Rely on fake agents and their short cuts. There are accredited agents from developed countries who source in africa and asia but not the other way round. These are sometimes listed on official government websites. \n\n2. Don't fully undertand skills. They think acdemic papers and some random corporate jobs equals skills. Lets call skills, trades and ICT expertise; carpenters, plumbers, nurses, teachers have a better chance than some bank manager in Kenya. \n\n3. Rely too much on youtubers with random clips on things they need to train in like nursings and such over a short period then land in Canada and get a job. It doesn't work like that. First of all, has canada said they need Kenyan nurses? Immigration in developed countries is based on policy. So even when they give visas, they know what they are doing and who they are letting in and for what jobs. \n\n4. Do not go to official government websites to confirm random research and advice\n\n5. Are still dishonest and think it's about trickery and knowing people. Well, not always. At least be able ans willing to yo flip burgers and clean toilets if it comes to that!?\n\n6. There is no affordable housing in developed countries. They too are struggling on that front.\n\n7. Alberta and their brother Saskatchewan should leave Canada and join the US. They would be very much welcomed and it would give us a better fighting chance here. \n\nWouldn't mind Yukon and the NW Territories join as well. We can connect Alaska to the States with a Railroad that way finally.

US is far better for individuals who wants to grow and work on themselves. I lived in US for 2 years and I got the best education learned a lot and met one of the most ambitious people. I always was motivated to do more. US boosted my education and career. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay there due to immigration issues. I moved to Canada and I am here for almost 5 years now and I am still struggling just to make ends meet. Every day I am looking for ways to get out of here back to US or elsewhere. Legalization of drugs, prohibitably expensive housing, poor access to health care, lack of availability of well paying jobs, massive intake of immigrants, overtaxation and fewer businesses opportunities. Canada was great place to live back in 1990s and early 2000s. Everything is going downhill after 2018. Immediately they need to fix immigration, taxation, healthcare, housing, drugs, and support small businesses.Else, Canada will continue to be the place of broken dreams.

Yes actually I do have a comment or two. I think that Toronto has become the victim of either its own success as a multicultural, diverse and growing metropolis or the perceived idea that Toronto is the place to be. And what that brings with it? Yes, people who are interested in living the life and those who can afford it pay it. You said it very well, the city has become unaffordable to most people but the wealthy or at least those who are getting paid the best salaries and those who bank on real estate take advantage of this, be it the hype or reality since also, most job opportunities are still there. So to me the problem is with the lack of contro of the real estate market. And people who cant pay but for whatever reason live there just have to pay the price. The refugee situation is not surprising to me at all. We are struggling with affordable housing for crying out loud but we are also advertising to the world that we are that welcoming and peaceful society that those people can be part of. But at what cost. Toronto cannot continue like this if it will still be considered as a city for the people and not the wealthy and chronically increasing poor. No wonder they chose a progressive for a mayor and not a conservative or hard line liberal because people want change but not radically. People want to live in the best city they can having all necessary services and in peace and safety. So, there are so maby layers to pill here but again, the main reason why things have gotten the way they are is because they let real estate run unleashed. All the best, Alina.

Look at Texas and see how they deal with social matters. They are becoming alternative to states such as California and New York. The city should be a magnet to promissing and well-educated people, not losers. Sorry, if I hurt you with this words, but the truth must be outspoken. There are not soft ways to solve the city problems.

I can confirm that there's really nothing in Canada. They have no jobs and the Jobs they give to Black Immigrants in particular, whether you have a degree or not, are generally seasonal summer jobs in warehouses, working with plastic injection molding machines. When winter arrives, you get laid of until the next summer and the cycle continues. It was the first place l learnt that racially motivated official murder of Black People by White Police Officers is standard practice in the United States, because it's also a practice in Canada but not as rampant as it is in the United States. \n\nI just don't know who is spreading this false and deceptive information or understand why we're being bombarded worldwide with ads about Canada wanting immigrants to come over for jobs. China and Japan have more and better jobs than Canada. Even Germany in Europe has more jobs as well. Well if we aren’t going to to their intelligence seriously what cannwe expect? That being said when these libs get out the way and we develop our resources Canada should remember the disregard for our sovereignty the way India’s going about it.

I get all the angst about how this city has changed, but I'm not ready to leave yet. It's worth noting that what is happening here is happening in major cities all through western civilisation to some extent (or will soon be), especially in similar cities like Sydney and Melbourne. I know that the Toronto I knew and loved is gone, but these problems are medium term issues. I don't think it's going to stay this way forever, and there are good things happening as well. Life is full of ups and downs and right now this is the down part.

His advice also works the other way as well: moving from 1st world to developing country as a middle aged professional. If you're established in Canada or USA and move to Nigeria (a lot of tried it), you will start from many levels down regardless of your CV and the salary in Nigeria is not enough to sustain your family relative to their comfort level in USA/Canada. The irony is the same reason why he moved & is enduring the situation in Canada is a same reason why USA & Canada based transplants endured harsher conditions on ground in Nigeria: they feel it's in the best interest of their children and therefore worthwhile in the interim. Once the goal is met, they return back to their 'home base'. Hence, his situation is not the classic Japa - where the vast majority folks need to move by any means necessary to survive due to hardship in naija. His advice works for those who are doing relatively ok in naija [net positive monthly cashflow upper middle class individuals]. The average Nigerian who is suffering will manage anyhow situation in Canada compared to the daily hardship on ground in Naija.

I used to live in Turkey ??, I saw so many Canada and US citizens living in Turkey. When I asked them why they left Canada , they said that they can’t live in Canada that life is not in Canada . They’re well educated while living in Canada but left because of high cost of tax and livin. They told me that Turkey is cheaper also rent in turkey is way cheap even living in a better apartment close to sea with big rooms.

It’s interesting….I am desperate to move to Africa…not sure if east or west, but on day I am going to live there. \nThe way that people throw away everything, driver, stable income, own home fully built, to come to the west to wash white peoples bums, astonishes me. \nThey don’t know what they have. \nThe west is not a home its a place you may make money, as well as face so much discrimination etc.

I feel very safe in downtown Toronto because I am accustomed to it. I've never experienced any issue with the homeless and continue to talk to them, offer them food IFFFF they just happen to be pan-handling and often hug them to make them very SEEN. I feel safer in downtown Toronto at 3 am then I do when the 905'ers (suburban types) come to party in the entertainment district or around any French-separatist bc of how they are liable to treat me for my lack of decent conversational French. And IF guns are reported, I have to the thank the US for smuggling them in. \nFinally - as for health care - I believe its breaking down... our hospitals are beginning to fail us. The decline in health care is SO evident, BECAUSE anytime the Conservative party is in provincial legislative power they drop medical and education funding. I believe medical funding is being dropped purposefully to manipulate the population's thinking in order to have us eventually\nvote FOR privatization of health care. I NEVER MIND PAYING TAXES - WHAT I MIND... IS HOW OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE BEING SPENT... it all depends on the party in power. I would pay 40% income tax happily IFFFF our tax dollars were devoted to services mirroring the way Scandinavian countries do - they invest it WELL in their municipal services rather rather than blow it. \nOur federal and provincial bureaucrats are sucking. Fine... our municipal bureaucrats are sucking, too. Oh, Canada - I love you and wish Pierre Trudeau, or Joe Clark or Ed Broadbent were back in Parliament. I miss you Jack Layton. We would have loved to have seen you as Prime Minister. CANADA IS MUCH TOO INFLUENCED BY THE US... we are thankfully different, but your influence is\nmuch too prevalent. And as for the Canadian people - get your heads out of your asses and re-familiarize yourselves with Canadian CIVIC STUDIES. The shit was taught in grades 7, 8 and on.

I hate this so much. I know it’s not these peoples fault that their countries aren’t helping them but America isn’t even helping its own people. Imagine how it feels to be from the US struggling and then these people come and somehow our country has the means to help them when they won’t not can’t won’t help their own. What other country do you know of where you can just decide to cross their boarder demand help and say you know what I’m just going to live here illegally now. And if we don’t help them they have all kinds of ways to sue the state and demand help even though they’re not even citizens. That’s what’s crazy to me. They make you do a bunch of stuff before you can travel and some countries won’t even let you visit let alone live there with or without a criminal record but these people can just walk right in. Any countries borders are important they are there for protection. Ours are not being protected which means the country is not protected. I just don’t see this turning out well for anybody, not them not us. There is a scene from the titanic that I’d like to relate this situation to. The scene where Roses mom is in the boat with that other lady who has new money the chubby one. She wanted to let people on the boat that were drowning around her, and dude wouldn’t let her. It wasn’t because he was being mean it was because if people started holding onto the boat and trying to get on the boat they would panic, and eventually everybody would swarm the boat. The boat would not have been able to hold the weight of everyone holding onto it. Well the same here there’s people who are already drowning, and other people from other countries want to come here, but all they’re gonna do is sink the ship, and then there will be no help for anybody and everyone will be doomed. America has its our own problems and the citizens pay taxes that are never used to help them. Instead the government gives money away to other countries like it’s nothing. Not entirely accurate. It's pro-wealthy immigration here in Canada absolutely. It's citizenship for sale. Not necessarily wealthy in terms of really wealthy (like Switzerland) but it's definitely citizenship for sale, so if you don't have money, don't bother. Newcomers with medical and engineering expertise can't get jobs here in Canada, in spite of our healthcare system being on the point of collapse and our supposed hi-tech push. Regulatory boards here have made it impossible. Estimates are around 175000 qualified, internationally trained doctors and nurses who gave up trying to practice here and moved into other careers. Ukrainian doctors, for eg, with extensive trauma experience and willing to staff our emergency departments have been told they have to requalify by going to Canadian medical school to retrain for at least 4 years. Same story in engineering. By IT, our government seems to mean low-paid call center IT work, moving the IT sweatshop racket from India onto Canadian soil. If you can afford to buy a business - I believe the total business investment was 500 000 pre-pandemic - that's another way in. Not sure if thats gone up now. So many of our franchise businesses are essentially being used as citizenship tickets. The big ticket item: If you can afford 4 years of postgraduate or undergrad university program, or 3 to 4 year college program - and if you don't have the cash, loan sharks in India will distribute debt across the whole family for decades so one student can go . There us a very good documentary by an Indian filmmaker on the Canadian college/University recruitment drive in India and its consequences. Several of our colleges have student enrollments at over 70% of the entire student body, direct entry from India. Additional problems like grade inflation, different education standards, and outright fraud on ESL testing also mean that Indian students are not well prepared for school here. Many do not have enough English to succeed in their studies. They either need to spend for additional tutoring, take a qualifying year or two ESL (on top of the 3 or 4 program), or fail courses. Universities and colleges keep the tuition though. Honestly our colleges and universities are staying afloat because of Indian students. They're being treated like cash cows - and Indian recruiters are scamming the system, taking fees on their end with unsuspecting students getting falsified documents, or being told they passed their ESL when they didn't. It's a national disgrace. I'm a prof here, I've seen all of this firsthand. Your data may be correct, but the narrative you've constructed for it is not the real picture.

I am today a senior grandfather. I have spent much time in the USA, from Texas, New York, and out west in Ohio and California. I found the people I met and befriended and business partners to be as nice as Canadians. Most were generous in all ways. At some point, I thought about relocating, but...\n\nCanada had less money to offer as income, but considerably less expense. Nearly free university, a well educated population, a government not controlled by corporate money or interests. We have no right to have guns, though some of the well-to-do have hunting rifles. We do not live in fear if a stranger knocks on the door. We have government medical and prescription protection. Noone, repeat, has guns at home.\nRegarding prescription insurance, I pay a small fee per month ($30) and I have the government cover 80% of the cost. My kids, until age 18 were also covered for medication.\nUniversity at today cost is about $400/course plus $350/semister.\nDoctor visits are free, as well as hospital stays and surgery.\nThe average Canadian lifespan is 3-4 years more than the USA.\nThe cost of living is higher by 1/3 for food. Housing is about the same or slightly more, because we have winters and need to heat in winter and a/c in summer. Even so, electricity or gas is less expensive.\n\nSummary. With less money, we have a higher standard of living.

Outside of some absurdly wealthy or well connected individuals, the quickest way to get US citizenship is to join the military. Not the most appealing option but you'll become a citizen after you finish boot camp which is 10-12 weeks.

Canada could be doing better as we have those in government trying to privatize our system further and breaking the laws doing it but the Feds aren't really doing anything either. At least we do have healthcare but there are still private systems in place, particularly for optical, dental, pharma and other systems. I also don't care for the American's lack of serious training for police, private prisons and the fact that slavery is alive and well there as well as your politicians' and citizens' insistence on keeping and maintaining capital punishment.

I lived in Canada from 1983 to 2016 after I left the US Air Force in '83. I was born in the SF Bay area, and grew up there in the Hippie peace love/Viet Nam era in the 60's and 70's. I now live in Seattle. As we have travelled to San Fran, New Orleans, Nashville, Miami, Vancouver (Canada) and New York in the last 6 months, I kinda have a pretty good idea how it was on both sides of the border way back then, as well as right now. We have 2 rental homes, and I STILL have to work until I'm 70 to retire without worrying about losing it all because of the the high cost of health care. Your observation of race/political/religion relations are naive at best, you need to travel the country first hand to see it. Canada has it's far share of right wing crazies as well. They're mostly not armed, and most fights are 5 minute shouting matches. I know this because I work on construction sites. Canada doesn't have commercials for pharma or ambulance chasers. Because big pharma is kept in check, and with a population slightly smaller than California, frivolous lawsuits would clog the courts. If the PM killed some one on the corner of Yonge and Bloor in Toronto, he'd go to jail. You can get an abortion in Canada. There's a fraction of the Fentanyl crisis happening in Canada, and they have waaayy less homeless in the street. Canada has 2 weeks paid vacation AND paid holidays. The tax rate is higher in Canada, but many of the benefits make up the difference. It's cheaper to buy a house in Seattle than Vancouver. You can get a 30 year mortgage in Washington as well, instead of 5 or 10 years. Good and services tend to be cheaper and more plentiful Stateside. Mail service runs on weekends, it hasn't done that in Canada since the 80's. As it stands, I'm in Seattle right now because it isn't the typical US city by far. But I'm thinking when it comes to retiring, I'm putting Canada on the list. Being a dual citizen also makes me eligible for the other Commonwealth (universal health care) countries like Australia.

Canada has starbucks and mcdonalds as well. I enjoy not having guns being the number killer of kids, not having literal PRO NAZI groups rising like crazy, and not insane amounts of violence and hate crimes based on what people look like.\nAlso, IN America, you pay more for much worse outcomes.
