I am a Canadian citizen, have undergone four surgeries, live with one kidney, and graduated from college in Accounting and Finance in Canada. I pity myself that for over three years now, I have been doing general labor in a warehouse. Despite many vacancies, I keep getting rejected! In the warehouse where I currently work, three of the four Accountants are on work permits, and they have no education in Canada!

I am sri lankan dude born and raised in germany. I work in a company where most are german. They are quite respectful , funny and quite sensitive in terms of racism, homophobia etc. I even hang up and party with them in freetime. The work life balance is insane , much better than USA. If u r sick u r sick , no one dares to question u. All that because of Young People they r different than the older ones in public services etc. . So if u get into a good company everything will be fine. I know its hard...but thats they key.

One works primarily for Canada's civil servants at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels. \n\nLike many, I was fed up paying 52% in taxes, became very concerned with the quality and availability of healthcare, and thoroughly disgusted how the federal government protected minority rights. Moving to Europe was absolutely, positively, the best thing I could have ever done.

I came to Canada in 1989 with my twin sister. I haven't left Canada ever since I came in. My twin sister left Canada for good in 2023. I did not come to Canada because I needed more money. I came to Canada because I did not have a country. Canada became my home country but the crazy thing is I don't recognize the Canada I knew over the years. Many people came to Canada to take advantage of this wonderful nation. My beloved city of Toronto turned into a third world country. I'm now in Alberta where I work hard and pay my taxes. My Canada is a paradise on earth. My Canada deserves people who loves it. I had my hardship in my early years and that was what I had to go through. When new immigrants try to cut corners, I always remind them to earn their muthafuka turn. The liberal party screwed up Canada. Chances are one day I will end up leaving Canada for good but before that I'm keeping my Canada great.

I am a skilled worker (an engineer), I graduated from a master's in Germany and speak fluent german. Housing is one of the negative points I can mention. Another one is the waiting times for a document work at Ausländerbehörde. Here in Stuttgart it is the worst as far as I see. \nAnother thing I dont like is to pay so much to the health insurance and at the end you even cannot get an appointment when you have a tooth ache for instance. \nAnother rather cultural difficulty is that you cannot find a place in the society, Germans do not make friends and when you only make friends with expats then it does not feel you are a part of the society. At least from my understanding.\n\nPositively enough, I have not yet faced racism in my daily life etc. \n\nI would be thinking to leave Germany one day maybe, but for another german speaking country probably.

I think the ones that are doing the drugs and living on the streets need to go to a drug rehab and before they can be released have a job and work with these people where they can have affordable housing but Mexico is the supplier

I'm an immigrant looking to get my PR, I have qualifications from one of the top universities in the world, experience as an international consultant and most important I do respect the Canadian culture and follow the rules. However, even for me it is uncertain what is going to happen? and/or if the government will make more changes and kick us out hahaha. I do believe that immigration has poured a lot of money into Canadian's pockets and most of them are not considering that, some of that money is going to go to another country who is willing to manage immigration with a better approach and provide a more certain perspective to new immigrants. The government allowed many bad actors (locals and foreigners) to take advantage of the system and those who are going to pay the bill are new immigrants due to political elections, and that is just sad. We will see who are they going to blame for mismanagement of public resources and the possible crash of several industries, that are currently relaying on foreign money, once there are no new immigrants to blame. I agree with most of the new rules regarding immigration, but I strongly disagree with the political approach of how the government is blaming immigrants for their lack of proper management. I still believe Canada is a great country no matter the outcome of my personal immigration process, wish you all the best of luck!

This is why small amount of Europeans or Americans come here, so only people from Asia and Africa maybe see some reason to came.

Canada has 5 million Indians that are supposed to go home they came in either on a student visa or a work visa . All visas expire . Go home. You have made it so that no one wants you.

There are too many fake international students...they come for work permit. Legitimate IS are the ones studying in universities to get a degree and go home once they are finished.

The damage to Canada's economy and society is already done. Even if we replaced the corrupt government tomorrow and replaced it with a good government it could take decades to recover. The Government of Canada combined with Bank of Canada turned the economy into one giant Ponzie scheme. Came here 2.5 years ago and been working from my second week here onwards. As a European, I have seen how the different urbanistic priorities here make everyday life simply noisy, smelly and encourage a non healthy way of life. And whilst I believe that everyone should be respected, I also think that this respect should stop when respecting an old suburbanite means throwing away city's financial wellness and viability. \nHowever seeing how my colleagues, even the young ones, want to preserve that way of life, qualifying it as Free, discouraged me, and makes me want to invest in a future elsewhere.... Where cities are free to invest in smart development and not struggling to maintain the shitty car-suburban -centric one they made when the car industry brain-washed local authorities...

Why is the government not building new cities in Canada, if this is done, it works to operate all sectors within the country, which improves the chances of buying homes at a reasonable price and creates new jobs.. The Canadian government has many possibilities to do this, on the one hand, and on the other hand, it is working to exploit the vast spaces in the country .. Therefore, the government is working to reduce taxes and encourage and support small businesses and projects .. If small productive enterprises are opened by individuals and encouraged to do so, while providing them with encouraging tax cuts, this improves the whole situation .. Let's liberalize the economy even more

Tariffs would collapse Mexico's economy. Watch Trump slap 100% across the board on Mexico. The peso would drop like a rock. No one would buy ANYTHING from Mexico. American companies IN Mexico would leave Mexico due to the fact Trump is dropping regulations which killed their businesses under the democrats so they would return. Also ending the reliance on foreign oil will drop the prices for consumers even more so American made products would be cheaper and better made again. Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.

Do your research. Less jobs in USA means higher taxes for a working people in USA. Do your research, China owns all the ports and docks in Mexico, so all the unregulated imports coming into Mexico are trucked and rail trained over the south borders while bidens border patrol agencies are tied up processing illegals and looking for drugs and terrorists, imports are pouring into the USA with not ONE regulation on them..

Im mexican, and all this makes me sad, cause president Trump make American citizens to believe we are all criminals, bad people, that all of us wants to go to USA. in my work we have mostly immigrated east Indians from various area's 5 white males and 2 white females the rest in our local branch out of 47 employees are non white keep in mind though that is a ground level branch number up higher are wealthier white manager positions were the ratio is primarily white bodies but one thing i hear them saying a lot is that they do not like going back home that when they do they are targeted as wealthy off the planes and are stalked and targeted apparently one thing i never would have thought is they also say there is a ton of roaming mob crime in india that girls and men are targeted who are of native blood and that even in there homes they are not safe so i mean if we bring in majority young males from these regions you have to think that bad habits come with them i would probably disagree if the majority were young girls mostly because i dont think any culture has a surplus of problematic immigrating young women it just doesn't happen

In conclusion, Tariffs are affective because these greedy American and Foreign corporations use cheap labor to make cheap goods that they then sell for major profit. Tariffs tend to make these companies movie to America create American Jobs and pay higher American salaries which are a significant savings over tariffs. The companies lose considerable profits but they gain market share because they understand that when you raise the price of goods you only make the American alternative more appealing.

President Trump has done this before—if you recall, he did it last time, and within 30 days, Mexico secured the border. We would be on deep ? if Mexico just let everyone that wanted to cross the border into the US. You have to work with other countries, especially the ones that you share a border with.

I have ethnic background from Hong Kong and have been living in Canada for almost 40 years. I love Canada and am proud of this beautiful country. However, I think part of the immigration problem we have is the ongoing issue of allowing dual citizenship of everyone who have become a Canadian citizen. I have personally known lots of HK immigrants who would return to their own countries to work as soon as they have got their Canadian passports. Normally one of the parents would stay with their children here for free schooling, medical care and child tax benefits. Their children will follow their parents to go back to HK after they graduated from universities in order to avoid the higher income tax . Unfortunately, those parents will come back to retire in Canada so that they can get free health care benefits and OAS once they have fulfilled the residency requirement of 10 years. Canada do need more skilled and educated immigrants to make our country more prosperous but not those who try to take advantage of our lenient immigration policies. I think we should take back the passports of those who have left Canada for more than 2 years or those who have evaded taxes so that we do not continue to support those never contributed to our country. PS, I mentioned about HK only because of my origin and I believe the same problem would be caused by immigrants from other countries too.

Another difference is that family and kinship is valued so Indians work together to build themselves up. They may have to live in crowded housing but they r working to save to be able to buy their own homes. The problem with White people is they don’t have family unity, they view having children and inconvenience. They don’t realize that those children will become their safety net as they get older. Family helps each other out, those Indians would do anything to keep a family member from living in the streets. This would put their family in shame in their community. Canadians have something to learn from the Indians. By the way their religion disapproves of alcohol & drugs so they don’t have that problem. Honestly, over flooded with Indian Students, and Indians,Indians also feel uncomfortable.Its more than 2 Millions, one million came from one Indian state - Kerala and rest from Gujarat, Haryana,Kolcutta, Bihar,etc. All Indians came Older, younger in Internation students visa that half million of them already started working or once got admission,started working,not attending school, therefore, had affected Canadians that started to loose their daily job.It has never happend like, this INDIANS are Greedy by nature because of unemployment and POOR COUNTRiES. First million to be the criminals is the way to go. The streets are not safe with these criminals and gangs. 10 years ago I had been called by my company to work in Germany. First discrimination I had was when a government worker told me in english that she does not speak english and if I want anything I should get a translator or learn german! Since then I have been many times facing similar discrimination even after I learned the language. The sacrifice I make is for my children as I want them to have opportunities for higher education and a larger spectrum of careers. One thing I must ask germans: ist es so schwer anderen zu helfen, ohne sie herabzusetzen?

i'm happy there are people here who agree, but having your voice heard only as a youtube comment is not the answer. do you know how countries in europe managed to get ahead in healthcare? patients went to the press with recorded videos about their experience. and yes, initially the journalists dismissed this as non news, but it only needed one to go with it. and it made waves. now a 2hr wait in the ER in europe is met by the tv crew. \ncanadians refuse to do it. when i came to canada 25 years ago a 2hr wait was normal. now it's 9hrs and still no discontent voices. no politician is running on healthcare, but on cutting taxes and on giving back a few hundred dollars a year back to the families. and most are eating it up! \nbecause healthcare is public, doctors and their union have 0 incentive of allowing more professionals into the system, because they all share the same pie. there are families who do not have a family doctor and are forced to use clinics, even with newborn babies. my family doctor works a regular job, doesn't answer the phone after 3:30 (even though they are open until 4), has 2-half days (one is a golf day btw) and overall couldn't give a F about patients. on that high salary in any other industry, you'd be on call 24/7. \nand then there's housing, jobs, the education system is a mess - more and more people are worried about what these kids are learning and there is 0 incentive from any of the politicians to address the issue.\nand, of course, there is forced immigration. when we came it used to be a merit system, you had to bring in money to prove you won't be a burden to welfare for at least a year. it's definitely not the case now. \npeople look at PP as some kind of saviour, but he's not going to fix anything. usually conservatives are good for corporations, whilst liberals balance their policies with the needs of the common folk. how far they've fallen.

I’m not a crazy Trumper when I say this, but IMO you all should put a retraction or correction. I come to TLDR for fair and unbaised news. I feel like much of yall dont know why illegal immigration is in such an state in the first place, currently, there are no legal paths for immigration, only if youre work-sponsored, or you have a family member, so of course people are gonna cross illegally, the human trafficking market is billions of dollars deep, for every hole they cover, a new one is gonna be created, is something they already said.\n\nthese are people in very deep economical situations willing to sell their homes and abandon everything they have to cross to a highly dangerous path through deserts and mountains, at the very high risk of dying and getting assaulted by the gang members they use, an people think its just because they cant wait in a line? and this is not a rare sentiment too, 70% of people think that there should be a legal path to immigration, but unless thats solved, immigrants are gonna keep coming. As someone who formerly worked with the DHS, and by extent, ICE, the real headache that comes with deporting someone is verifying a derpotee's nationality/country of origin, and getting said country to also verify the deportee's nationality. Information one with nothing to lose will most likely not give up willingly. Contrary to popular belief, you can't just take any illegal and throw them over the Mexican border (unless you're actually Mexican by Nationality.). If they're from any country that doesn't border the US, i.e Mexico or Canada, they must be repatriated to their countries via charter flights. Which is another diplomatic headache unto itself.

If they really wanted to crack down on immigration, then penalize both the worker and the employer for working together. But that's not what they want. They still want immigrant labor, but for no one to be able to complain about their terrible working conditions. Remember: margins make money.
