I am Living in Ottawa I am white, I lived here my whole life and now I am a minority I deal with different races all the time and I do feel that I am being pushed out of my country different ethnicities treat me with disrespect I was growing up with Canadian culture of respecting everyone around you but I fine with all these different cultures coming in I’m losing my Canadian identity and it is a lot for me to hold strong onto the values as of what the Canadian is and I’m a fourth generation Canadian I see what’s happening to our veterans I visit my grandfather every other week and I see all the different nationalities that are PSW‘s and nurses And I really mean no offence but we have a different level of respect we have a different way of talking and these different nationalities coming in they all click together and some of them they treat the men who built this country with such disrespect please listen to meand I’m really not Trying racially profile this is been happening for the last 15 years and I’m not being silent about it Canada is freedom of speech Canada is being strong enough to speak up I mean this from the bottom of my heart if you’re coming into my country that my grand parents built for me and my children can you please give my children the opportunity that you were now taking from them and I see how they treat our veterans I see how difficult it is for seniors that didn’t have a placement in our homeless I see that all of our government funding is now going to people that are now immigrating into Canada and they’re being able to start up small businesses have four bedroom townhomes in their children to schools and drive them and fancy SUVs can you look around us and see somebody sold Canada

It’s just sad how this world still hasn’t got over the fact people can be from any race and be a good person or a not so good person. I’m thankful I was raised to treat everyone the same and to know everyone is the same! It doesn’t matter the color of your skin, your sexuality, nothing at all!!

What they didn’t mention was that African Americans also have a bias against African Americans when administered that same racial profiling test. In fact, studies have found that asking people to identify their own race at the beginning of standardized tests also causes African Americans to perform worse on tests because it reminds them of their bias against themselves. That’s why they have stopped asking those questions or should stop if they still are.

It's a sad fact that some people can't evolve past the need to make themselves feel bigger by working to make others seem smaller. People do it all the time and race seems to be a favorite reason for the most ignorant.

It's not just race its anybody can be discriminated against by businesses here!And by ANY race!Whites ALSO can be discriminated against by people who ARENT white as well thie is biased reporting!

I think subtle racism is actually a very practical type of stereotyping and it didn't just got created out of air, there is a big chunk of that specific race (be it any race according to the stereotype) who actually prove the stereotype to be right. I am from india, living in Canada and if some house owner would prefer a white guy over me to rent their house, I would not blame him since a lot of people don't like the smell of spices that we cook all the time.\n\nAs far as stereotyping is sublet and not rude or hurting, I don't think it's actually so much of racism rather then preference.\n\nI just want to make it clear though that I do support racism, whatever is happening in US and a lot of other countries which is violent is a very horrible thing. Specially black people being racially profiled everywhere including malls and by the police themselves.

I guarantee you that everybody would pick people of the race they grew up that look like their family. It's not racism, it's associating your family with good.

When I worked at Best Buy I overheard someone telling loss prevention to keep an eye out for the black people. But when I came around the corner and glared at them( I’m a mixed race woman but then I was just 18) they stopped talking and the manager dropped the COMPUTER he was holding. It broke. I was too shocked and shy to say anything then. I assumed I misheard

How about not sitting out there race baiting. Or be pissed off at the actual terrorists who dress like that. Honestly black people may feel the same way it’s just most of us ignore ignorance, because the only way it get any relevances if you give it attention, but know this their are more important things in my life, that I focus on because God created all. The media did a great job profiling white skin people as charming, civilized, with good manners, rich, eating healthy. Because the media did a great job in feeding us with Groupthinking, we are unconsciously practicing what we were fed, we give to white people the best jobs, we open for them the best opportunities and we are suspicious of other races, even if we belong to those other races.

People should be free to rent, or not rent, their private property to whoever they please using whatever criteria they choose. This program is intentionally misleading and is disingenuous. Race and ethnicity is one of many factors that can be used as a legitimate predictor of a person's behavior as a tenant. Not by any means the only factor, and certainly not unerringly accurate, but not irrelevant either. Leftist multi-cultural tripe.

Most people have a racial bias. It happens naturally. That’s why we have to educate ourselves.\n\nIf you had the same race commit a crime over and over, your brain naturally tries to associate the bad people with that race.\n\nWe had all the pictures of previous shoplifters at the store. The majority of shoplifters were from 1 race. A lot of workers can’t distinguish different people of the same race. So they start associating similar features to crimes. \n\n\n\nI have my employees confuse me for another black employee. And I also confuse them for another.

We are all people under the same God that we all sin and steal from everybody. No races are different than any other. It's how they were brought up if they have God in their lives they will not do that if they don't they will.

Racism does NOT surround us. Racism, by definition requires more than one Race to be involved in order for discrimination based on Race to happen. Discrimination CAN happen based on skin color, cultural background, language spoken, country of origin, heritage of ancestors. That is true. None of that however indicates a different Race of people, it only highlights superficial differences in appearance. It is time to end the idea that Racism based on race exists, because claiming discrimination based on Race is the first step to basic Human Rights violations. The thing about Islam and Muslims is that they want everyone to support and defend them\nBut in their own countries they don’t support nor defend anyone except for the people who share their religion. It’s a double standard, and they play victim when it suits them. Islam itself is very intolerant as a religion. That politician is correct but the white man needs to educate himself on Sikhs their history and culture. And if Muslims feel some type of way about the west it’s because they are alienated by the way they are treated by racists and governments and law enforcement agencies in the west and are upset about the role western governments play in meddling to create instability and oppression in Muslim majority countries. Minorities treat whites just riiiggght... People typically treat those of their same color better than others due to being more comfortable. Every race does it. Its experience that makes people act the way they do.

I wanna see what a spanish or black manager with the same strategy and watch what happens. I am the minority in my town and I am white, and trust me I get treated the same as these people but worse. Usually people look out for their own race sometimes its not right but people are dragging out this white people treating colored people wrong, when in fact if I went to mexico in some areas ill be shot dead and thats facts.

Ok, wearing something on your face, that covers the face and head, makes people nervous. I don't care if it's religious or not. It makes people nervous when we can't see someone's face!!! Has nothing to do with the religion or race.

It is NOT just race. Depending on the bag or backpack you carry, you get followed, which I hate. And I'm not black. My mother also gets followed everywhere in every Macy's store. It drives me crazy. It's really annoying, because I think it's because my mom has big purses and I usually have my art backpack. \n\nWhen I'm in a different town, I get followed in Walmart all the time. If I forget my shopping bags, I will empty my backpack so I can use that to put all my items in at the end of the purchase.\n\n In Best Buy, I'm lucky to get anyone to help me at all!!! I have to hunt someone down, and most of the time, they don't know anything anyway. Target: I have a hard time finding anyone to help me as well. I haven't really done a social experiment, but sometimes I just have my shopping bags and fill them as I shop and I won't carry a purse.\n\nLocally, I don't get followed because my family and me are known in that town. We know a lot of people and my face is everywhere. I never get followed. But out of town Walmart, I get followed in certain stores. It irritates me immensely, especially since I buy a lot of make up and the make up department is cramped they way they block the end of the aisles. It makes it really hard to turn your cart around when other people are in the same aisle. Then they close the make up aisle even though they have tons of cameras all over!! \n\nOverall, I don't know WHERE these backhanded compliments are coming from. I normally hear stuff about my weight. Nothing about race ever. Nor do I ever hear others talking about race. Weight seems to be the hot topic always.\n\nI also find it weird that the one guy feels like he needs to apologize!
