I am a 62 year old Canadian and I do believe things in North America were'nt always this way. I grew up in a semi-rural area. We knew who our neighbours were and knew a lot about them . In those days it was unnatural for kids to spend most of their days inside rather than running around the neighbourhood. Most people either were connected to a church or the Legion etc. There would be hockey , church dinners etc. That drew people together. Too much has changed but I don't think is consumerism alone that is the cause.

If you want to be surrounded by people outside all the time doing nothing, go live in any urban ghetto in the U.S and u will find what u seek. My grandparents immigrated from Italy and Ireland. They never got nice warm Canada Goose jackets, clothes, Nike shoes designer jeans, free English lessons or welfare. What we get are lousy heath care workers who barely understand or speak the English language and are caring for our Elderly and mistreating them. This I saw first had. I took my Mother home out of a senior home and cancelled home care as they never showed up on time. Would they leave there parent in a urine soaked brief for 5 hours as that is how late they were. I had to quit my job to take care of her. I myself am disabled with a spinal injure. The worst part of “Home Care workers” is that they wanted me to call in and cancel so they got paid. This statement gave from the Home Care nurse in charge of these immigrants working here. Seven of my friends, who are educated health care workers, which they themselves paid for, not paid my our government. They can’t get a job. The last job I applied for and they ask you status I put that I am a Canadian refugee in my own country. \nPretty sad when on Remembrance Day you have these woke individuals begging for money to help refugees. They should be ashamed of themselves for this disgusting action as this is a time to remember the men and women who fought for our freedom. Trudeau is a total embarrassment to all Canadians. Canadian born and raised I found this video very interesting as a lot of Canadians blame the immigration for lack of jobs and feel they get more help from Government then local Canadians do.The anger towards them is a problem people don’t seem to want to talk about and would rather pretend it doesn’t exist but I hear it all the time and see it at work.I think this information should be more widely spread so people have a clear picture of both sides and hopefully the resentment will stop because all I’ve seen is anger resentment and a scary growing hatered

when it comes to cultural differences, what you said there is a huge huge generalization. Why? Some preferred cultural behavior might be true for tiny nations (or small geographic areas). That is because of rather reasonable distances, habits could spread all over that area within past centuries (that is how all that is made). But talking even about Russians is a heavy stereotype. By best guess your Russians from around Moscow area and those close to eastern Chinese borders would differ more than those groups of of Chinese (or Mongolian if Mongolia is also close by), that are right on the other side of that eastern border with their Russian counterparts. And of course by Russians I mean here citizens of Russia and not their ethnicity. \nSo Saying how Europeans are all reserved (which funny enough if you mean Europe geographically would include Moscow), is just a huge misstep. It is like calling all USA citizens to be same way (something you might really want to avoid doing if ever you visit USA).\nAlso Climate. First of all Ontario is not the other name for Toronto or GTA area. It is rather big province. So that weather heavily depends if you are sitting in Toronto, Ottawa, North Bay or Windsor. That humid weather as you stated is only truth for the parts that are closer to those big lakes.\nAnd for the love of god. Canada DOES NOT have a paid insurance. Each province has its own paid insurance. So while certain things might be free in one province (like emergency ambulance), it is partially paid in other province.

I like how y’all have created this video by not applying a negative undertone rather more of an informative approach to caution prospective movers of what potentially awaits them. All I would like to highlight is the fact that some people will experience all these points as negative aspects or maybe even one or two that might lead to the breaking point.\nIt all depends on where you come from and how life was in your “home” country.\nYou might come from a higher tax environment with non existent healthcare and education. From that perspective, 40% taxes might look better and the healthcare might be great or crap depending on what your health issues are. I personally haven’t had any struggles with most of these aspects - finding a great job was relatively easier, (key word - relatively) the healthcare system worked for me when I needed it to, I was mentally prepared for the high taxes, I culturally adapted to the point where people thought I was Canadian and didn’t realize I came in from a very different environment. I’m sure this cultural adaptation helped me with my job and made it easier to live here.\nAll in all, you can say I’ve had the “perfect” immigrant experience that most people would dream of. But what do i think really? Personally, I have come to realize that Canada at the moment does not fit into my personal goals and values and that is okay. Loneliness away from people you love can be tough. It just isn’t the same feeling making new friends and hanging out with coworkers who are much older than you are and in a different place in life. I’m very close to my family and friends who I’ve grown up with and are on the other side of the world. My parents are getting older and I want to spend as much time with them as possible. For that reason, I might consider being somewhere closer to them. I’d perhaps consider coming back here some day when I’ve got my own family and kids which I currently don’t have. To me, that’s a personal value high on the list. I guess my only takeaway from this video and advise to people looking at each of these points - take each one and compare it with your home country. If you think you’re better off in Canada, then move - it’s a great place! If not, think about it real hard and weigh out the pros and cons.

I’m Canadian born but mums family is from Europe. \n\nIt’s seems like not a lot has changed since the 1960’s my grandfather had trouble finding a job for a while due to not having Canadian experience. \n\nIt took my friends 7years to become citizens here. As a born Canadian. They had to go back to school. Unless you are in the medical profession I don’t see why you have to go back to school. \n\nMost of our health care does come from taxes yes I can’t tell you how great it is that I don’t have to pay $80,000 per surgery. I have 17 over my life. In other places in the world that would make me homeless. \nBut the dental care has cost me a lot because of my condition. But even for me that is a fair trade off. (I rather drugs, dental would be covered) \n\nTaxes also include subsided things for the public, libraries, roads that fixed, reduced fares for public transportation, reduced health cost for low income families that’s not covered by the government. etc. Not all great but the health care coverage is great to not have to pay in full. I only pay $6000 in taxes at most a year. I have a low income. The more you make the more they will tax you because it helps get the services for everyone. That’s why you are taxed more if you make more.

I went to Canada for a student exchange program. Before going I had that rosy image that “Canada is a heaven” that is shown in my country. But I was disillusioned in just a couple of months. I was so happy when I left Canada- 4 months were enough to get sick of it. It’s a beautiful country and I would travel to Canada again and again but I can never have a life there. I’d rather work hard to build my own business in my country, get wealthy and travel the world. Natural beauty of Canada is spellbinding!

I do not see Americans as friends to Canada. we have had a softwood lumber dispute for 30 years now. Canada has different laws which Americans will never accept. when it comes to trade, Americans are not Free Trade or Fair Trade but Trade domination to eliminate competition. Boeing cried about Bombardier and secured a 200% tariff, while the Canadian company has no products to compete against Boeing....\n\nCanada still suffers from tariffs on our steel and Aluminum. \n\nAmericans are only friendly if Canada submits.... the latest NAFTA agreement saw Canada accepting American milk.... dumping into Canada at the expense of our farmers. This is the fault of the government of all these countries. From the beginning they have made law enforcement and the general population to be scared they will offend Muslims rather than being allowed to accept and treat them as they would other members of society. If one says anything that could remotely be interpreted as offensive they are labeled as being hateful and evil where as Christianity can be ridiculed without any repercussions. Mean while there watching the black person and its usually sometimes its the white person that's stealing the item. I've seen situation like that. I've even gone in to department stores looking to purchase something and being ignored by the sales rep they would rather help the white person than the black person in a situation where I wanted to purchase something the sales rep went to help the white lady who she spent half-an-hour with and that white woman did not purchase anything I was in a hurry ended up getting help from another sales rep ended up spending $300 the first sales rep who didn't help me looked over and saw that large purchase and thoughts to herself I should have helped that black girls. I mean in both cases you can't just judge a person by their colour a thief is a thief.

Why some of the questions aren't just consider as that people are curious rather than racisit remark? Being a person of colour, I feel like even I would have preferrence that can be judged as racisit. I have a question what will you call a girl who prefers to date a guy who is tall, fair ,good build, Is it her preference or she is racisit? The problem is NOT color, it's CULTURE. In Mexico, Mexican landlords would rather rent to Americans and Canadians than to other Mexicans, their waiters would rather wait on foreigners, and their cabbies will turn down five locals in hopes of getting a gringo passenger. Profiling is based on the accuracy of the statistical probability of incidence. Instead of being offended, be realistic. People have every right (and reason) to be reserved or suspicious for whatever reason they choose. Prove them wrong (without whining and/or rioting) if you want it to stop.

I think subtle racism is actually a very practical type of stereotyping and it didn't just got created out of air, there is a big chunk of that specific race (be it any race according to the stereotype) who actually prove the stereotype to be right. I am from india, living in Canada and if some house owner would prefer a white guy over me to rent their house, I would not blame him since a lot of people don't like the smell of spices that we cook all the time.\n\nAs far as stereotyping is sublet and not rude or hurting, I don't think it's actually so much of racism rather then preference.\n\nI just want to make it clear though that I do support racism, whatever is happening in US and a lot of other countries which is violent is a very horrible thing. A refugee here. Through my job as an engineer, I'm probably giving back more than what half Canadian born do. Many Canadians just live off of interest in money they inhereted while we work to uplift the economy. Refugees would still rather go back to their countries as soon as the war is over. As a White person I have noticed that while shopping at Walmart in my predominately Black neighborhood all packages leaving the store are inspected, of course mine included, however when shopping at a Walmart across town in a predominately White neighborhood no one inspects packages. The store in the black neighborhood has mostly Blacks shoppers and the store in the white neighborhood mostly White shoppers. It seems rather obvious to me that the store in the Black neighborhood has a much higher rate of shoplifting than the store in the White neighborhood or else they would never implement this extra step because of the added expense to the store. So is this considered Racial Profiling or is it simply protecting your property? I am not a genius but the evidence seems to suggest that Blacks in general shoplift more than Whites, and racial profiling in this case is completely justified.

I am an old bearded Caucasian with a cane who often shops at a Korean market in my area in downtown Vancouver. At one point they had a black security officer who would consistently follow me anytime I entered the store. I finally reached a point where I jokingly confronted him and told him if he insisted on following me I was going to get him to help me by carrying things. He never followed me again but we would always smile at each other and laugh when I came to shop. I believe his attitude was based on my appearance and perceived economic status rather then race.\nHaving said this I have also gone shopping at other Asian markets with my children, who are half Chinese, and been followed by the Caucasian security people while my kids were not.

If Allah had spoken in Koran, we could read it in there. So Muslims worship the story teller Mohammed rather than God of the Bible Yahweh Elohim. \n2. There is no salutation of Gabriel to Mohammed when he met him and gave revelation for 22 years. If the angel Gabriel of the true God appeared to Mohammed, he would have certainly greeted and self-introduced himself before speaking to Mohammed. (Look Daniel 9:1-27; Luke 1:5; 2:20; Luke 1:26-38). Therefore, it is clear that the dark spirit in the cave Hira is not angel Gabriel at all. \n3. How can Mohammed claim that the forefathers of Mohammed built the Kaaba when Koran confirms in Saba 34:44-45; Al-Qasas 28:46; Sajdah 32:2-3; and Hud 11:49 collectively that no warner or prophet or scripture has been sent to the pagan Arabs in Mecca prior to Mohammed. Pagan Arabs were idolators as per Koran. \n4. In conclusion Koran itself debunks the false claims of Muslims that Kaaba was built by Abraham and Ishmael. Mohammed himself confirms in above Koranic verses that no scripture or prophet or warner has been sent to the pagan Arabs who build the Kaaba. Logically Kaaba is built by pagan Arabs for idolatory where 360 gods were erected. Since it is correct, why Mohammed did not destroy the Kaaba idolatry which the Bible, the Jews and Christians never endorse or ever heard of.
