If someone paid $10k for a birth, they probably had complications during the birth or the baby needed medical care, was premature etc. Not that they have crappy insurance. I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! So sure Americans don't pay as much for some things but pay more for things that they shouldn't pay! Health care is something that is very important, how can you be expected to pay for health services if you can't work cause you're ill, doesn't make any sence! Even Americans leave thier country because of what it's becoming! 50- 100 years ago everyone wanted to immigrate to America or Canada, now a days everyone is immigrating here to Canada. . It’s free to have a baby in Canada, no hospital bills. And the government will send you monthly income up to a year afterwards so you can stay home to take care of said baby. Dads can take up to 9 months as well. I would be dead by now if not for free healthcare. I had a four day stay for kidney infections back when. I’ve also had skin cancer. All of my treatments were covered. Didn’t cost me a dime
