Columbia subsidized the United States with billions in 2024. America needs to stop depending on the charity of other nations and stand on her own. What a shock. Trump tries to bully other countries into getting his own way. Maybe Colombia gave in but it won't work with other countries. Nothing to worry. Its hell. I wish they had never given us visa . They been playing with our lives for several years. I have a kid who was born in USA and has mild autism. No one will believe how they have tortured us. How they never let me keep a job . I kept moving to different places but noone will hire me or rent us a descent house. In Asia they would be shot. Thats why I have so much respect for those countries. Illegal activity that puts their citizens or their well being at risk will not be tolerated. You do the proper paperwork and you get your visas. Cartels put them crying women and children on them front lines to exploit sympathy from Americans. These are east Indians coming from the UK. They had US visas from the UK. What is Canada to do when they are in transit passengers from the UK and given fake or real but seems fake US visas. All international intransit passengers dont go through customs at their stop over country. Its an international fact. Many years ago (I am 82) my husband was a post doc at Princeton. In case we wanted to stay in the USA a few years we became immigrants. While many people were pleasant and interesting , we hated the general culture there. The racism, medical expenses, the lack of public parks, public transportation , etc. we found very unpleasant. I became pregnant. My doctor who was kindly however had to suddenly flee the state as his wife was having him arrested ! He gave me info about places my child could be born on our trip home if necessary at our last meeting for I decided that my child would definitely be a Canadian! So, we packed up and left the month before my son was born. LOL.My recent ancestors are French Canadian, British, Scot , and I am descended from a Loyalist Niagara area family - but am also descended from every founding ethnic leader in the USA! Even several on the Mayflower! So, most Americans are my cousins! I think they have gone astray!

I was in the emergancy room waiting room one time, an american was visiting and his wife had a heart attack she was operated on inside of a day and the husband was trying to pay his bill and he was shocked that his bill was only 2500 dollars and he kept asking if he was going to get a bill in the mail, he would not! Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. What is normal and known /familiar and normal so we aren’t ignorant to , is completely different. \n\nFor us we have our pockets usually in more rural less populated areas further away from larger cities where there is more diversity but that’s the same often in many countries that you will find some of the louder racist homophobic intolerant voices typically in places that truly are unfamiliar and ignorant to the experience of growing up with and around much of any diversity of varying kinds. So it’s not to say we don’t have racism and intolerance of course like anywhere we do. It’s just contained and the range and frequency and intensity is MUCH different. We distinguish nuances of diff cultures and religions more easily and in larger numbers we’re more familiar with diff ways of life , language , food, dress , holidays , values and used to a much less segregated way of existing even when we are differnt from each other as the NORM. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. Quite honestly. \n\nI think the absolute undying favourable passionate upholding and support of nationalistic, capitalist, hyper individualistic mentality about society as a whole (from my Canadian born and bred perspective lol) makes the differences even more glaring blaring and hard to swallow for us lol. I think more Canadians would feel exactly how that comment stated , that you felt was not fair for us to experience America as. I think the truth is a lot of Canadians are being too polite to let you know that’s exactly how a lot of America comes off to a lot of Canada ?

Illegal immigrants who come to America after a woman is already pregnant for the sole purpose of giving birth so the child can get citizenship and the parents can use that as an excuse to stay in America is an abuse of our constitution, and an insult to every immigrant who has come here legally, and every other immigrant who is waiting for their turn to come here legally. If an illegal immigrant got impregnated by an American citizen then the child would be an American, but that's not what happens, and American taxpayers should not have to keep paying for illegal immigrants leeching off of our country. It may sound cruel, but it's not our responsibility to take care of the rest of the world.
