My wife was a social worker, she went from doing 10 cases a month to 100 cases, she was already busy with 10, and alot of them were illegals taking advantage of our system, taking over 6k a month. You need to look back to before Bill Clinton when immigration was not a issue really because people came and went freely from Mexico...only after the GOP took control of Congress, then Clinton was basically forced to pass the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. I have cousins who are illegal immigrants, I’ve been trying to sponsor my wife to come here legally and it has been the most dreadful process I’ve ever been through. Meanwhile these guys are here already receiving food stamps and housing. I make 220k a year. I pay my fair share in taxes and don’t need any government assistance. I’m definitely for returning illegals that are jamming the immigration system.

But the few charts with legal immigration data included show that there is a turn against both legal and illegal immigration (see chart on left at 1:50 ). Seems like MAGA victimhood seeking, as per usual ? Also note the massive run-up in Trump's 1st term in encounters (tripled from 2017-2019) ? He was only saved by COVID collapsing the economic drive for illegal immigration. And even then, most of the run-up post COVID lockdown was in place by Jan 2021 ( 3:30 ). So he does not have a great 1st term record, despite the hot air. Let's see this time, will be interesting to have the massive military deployment needed to detain, intern and eventually deport the 12m or so total ? With the right set of documents to legalise your stay.\nNo exceptions.

We don't need to deport them. Just make it where any company or business found employing them is immediately shuttered and the management imprisoned. The company assets are then sold off at auction to pay fir the employees deportation. Same for housing like apartments, condos, etc.\n\nMedical care refused for all illegals except kids 16 and under. Same for schools. No high school education for illegal kids. (Kids shouldn't be punished for their parents actions)\n\nFinally, stop giving citizenship to kids born in the US unless at least one parent is a legal US citizen. \n\nRefuse to issue marriage licenses unless one is legal as well.

It's a problem and the only way to not see it as one is to remove your head.\n\nI'm down to seeing whatever measures needed to get rid of all if not most illegal aliens. Immigration and immigration policies does not include illegal immigration. Do we need to massively overhaul the laws to make it easier and open it up, yes.

Really don't care how long illegal's have been here, be that 1 year, 10 years or 30 years. They all need deported.

Any politician/corporation/CEO that supports, ignores or enables the breaking of laws, should be considered to be in breach of those laws as well. Any one that makes use of or allows illegal (as in breaking the law) immigration/immigrants should be removed from the post and jailed. \n\nWhy do liberals progressives think they are above the law or that they only need to follow the laws that they want too? I can only hope Canada, the UK, the US and EU see extreme changes to our immigration and protections put in place for citizens and our cultures in the future.

I don’t support trump at all but I think immigration is an issue here (obviously not with people eating cats literally fake) for American citizens and what our taxes go to. Even if illegal immigrants are removed, there needs to be better humane improvements for those who want to come in the right way.

Besides distinguishing between legal amd illegal immigration, it would be good to know the numbers behind the types of undocumented immigrants. Many of these 11 million plus people actually belong here in the US, such as the Haitians and the Deeamers (which y'all neglected to mention). But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.
