I would never move to the US. Not on your life. Your statement that one can get healthcare for several hundred a month is ludicrous. Most Canadians don't have to pay anything, except their taxes, which are not higher than most Americans pay. And the huge costs of healthcare pop up at the worst time, when you're really sick. But that isn't the only reason. I loathe American politics. I loathe the American tendency to brag about how great they are. We Candians are not the greatest country on Earth. We can take advice from other countries. Americans tend to go on bragging and insisting their way is best long after they've been proven to be wrong.

I support religious freedom but tbh this is not India. Here in America you are welcome to practice your religion but we don’t open carry knives here so people get reasonably uncomfortable when they see someone carrying a knife around openly. The police officer wasn’t targeting a religious group, he was simply managing what some people would see as a concern or a threat even.

Luckily was able to purchase a home 6 years ago in a smaller town on the outskirts of the city. Now my commute is 2 hours a day and my gas bill has tripled and all my expenses. \nThen I drive into work as an educator and can barely make it through the day bc the school system doesn’t support the amount of students. Classroom sizes doubling, no supports, classrooms taking place in hallways. Had to go on stress leave awhile back, but could barely get medical attention. Had to literally beg a doctor to take me on.. only reason I felt I got medical attention was bc he was my mom’s doctor. Yup this is life now and not fair to anyone. Problem is I feel I don’t have anywhere to “go back to” \n.. I’d leave Canada too now if I could, def. Not what it used to be.

If their intention was not studies why canada give them visa. Canada actually can take interview or has facility to reject without reason. Canada is greedy to take 5 to 6 times more money from international students and so can give facility to citizens. If person become it is OK but country become greedy it is not great for region. I’m a Canadian truck driver. It’s time to teach these drivers from any other country that we do have laws here. I get passed by trucks being operated by people from his country all the time in most unsafe manner. Often on hilly roads with curves and blind spots. They pull up beside you and then motion to you to slow down so they can complete the take over. How ever in the Humboldt accident I believe it was a matter of not paying attention. as someone who grew up in BC canada, I can give many more vital reasons its absolutely awful here. \n\n1) Poor health care: everyone thinks Canada is so great for free health care. Be ready to wait up to 12 hours in hospitals to be seen for 5 mins. Also, my aunt passed away from waiting on breast cancer surgery in BC.\n\n2) Poor infrastructure: Roads here have been the same since 1960s, but now we have millions more people. Rush hour traffic is insanity in vancouver and toronto.\n\n3) Inefficient roadwork: Road construction can take up to 10 years, they close the road and leave it, I rarely seen people work on it and it causes far more traffic\n\n4) government promotes laziness: My friend who is a doctor works 2 days a week, why? because why would he work more at far lower pay? it all goes to taxes anyways\n\nI can give many more reasons but this is getting too long

And also in the end there isn't much consumer protection in the US. Many businesses have quite shady ways of getting your money out there. We feel a lot safer financially in Canada although there are breaches here too sometimes. I believe you need to make a good combined $300,000 depending where you live in order to make a good living in the US but the only reason why I would move really is for the climate although I would move to Mexico before moving to the US because generally speaking, Mexicans are friendlier. Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

I think everybody’s overreacting reason is that everything has been done for a reason, nothing is ever done from governments that doesn’t benefit in the long run. Things are always done to a certain level and then start to get under control. Hey most of the international students who come into the country join 2nd tier colleges and pay exorbitant amount of college tuition. (They can get better education in India than what they get in Canada for what they are paying and they joint shit colleges which no domestic applicant in their right mind would join), the only reason they pay that is so they can settle here and the government of Canada always made immigration policies that made it easy for international students to get a permanent residency so they can boost these shitty 2nd tier colleges who are not worthy. In my humble opinion to make it fair, I support tightening immigration laws that don’t encourage poor quality immigrants any further, but impose the law in such way it doesn’t encourage future immigrants by not impacting people who are already in the system and came due to this immigration hopes promoted by the government. Instead of at the time redirecting half of those two it was 500 billion take a half of that investment in putting it into infrastructure technology innovation for industries. Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. What's happening in Canada's economy and the economies around the world it's all the same the US economy's doing quite well and talked to last couple of weeks friends that have invested their and families have been there long-term at present the United States is building a war economy so there's money pouring into that effort it does have a booming you know Hi-Tech boom as well however the tech boom is offshore with American companies and it's taking place in a part of the world that no one would think it would take place so if your graduate in the tech industry go online do a little research you'll find out where it is the USA is building a huge chip factories I think they just poured in 70 or 80 billion dollars we're in a transitioning economy don't get discouraged put your head into it do your homework find out where these new jobs are coming from which jobs are not going to be here. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. In 2023, more than 1 million Indians will got visit visas, while only one hundred thousand Chinese will got visit visas. Shouldn't tourists see who has money? I can't get a visa with 200,000 Canadian dollars to prove it, but Indians can get a visa with only 10,000 Canadian dollars to prove it. what reason?

Definitely not to compare with Singapore.\nI heard that flight in Canada are very expensive, but if I would live in Vancouver I would prefer to go to Seattle over the border for a weekend rather than going to Toronto on the other side of the continent. Car option in Canada I assume is more affordable that Germany. The German gas price(for cars), or energy in general considered to be one of the most expensive in the World. Also the expenses to get a car license, people are just saying that it's easier and cheaper to fly over to USA get car driving license there and come back. In general with all the pros and cons, Canada seems better when compared to Germany, I saw several people left from Germany to Canada, and only 1 from Canada to Germany(his main reason was high property prices, and German were surprised because of such reason, the prices risen in Germany as well, except maybe for rural areas).\n\nAlso to make it fare when comparing Toronto better to compare it to Berlin, not just to any city in Germany. I think there will the same homelessness and drug issues in Berlin.

For context’ sake, for most of my adulthood I have always been poor & I am born with special health needs (E.g. disabilities).
\n\n\nSometimes on forums we are often contrasted to Canada, for some reason. Both Canada and Australia have remarkably similar problems with a different coat of paint. Sydney, for instance, has always been high up in the list of the cities with the highest cost of living in the world. Usually within the top 10-20. 

COVID-19 obviously made this issue clearer in some circumstances because we couldn't 'work' at all. Unless you were an essential service worker, to mentally block out personal and local difficulties.\n\n\nWe still have not recovered from that 2–3 years global shutdown. The only reason I was allowed to work for a period was because I work for the animal industry and aid in animal welfare. 

I still lost my job due to COVID-19 regardless and knew I would never get a decent job again. Merely just the last poor sod on the boat to be thrown off. 

Could not become a vet nurse despite working very hard. Just because no one wants to give me '2-years permanent paid experience’ to be taken seriously. 

At the same time, way too many employers will happily take 2+ years of veterinary students volunteering at their vet clinic. With the vague promise of a permanent job.

Which, of course, never happens, then say we are being too demanding or spoilt for politely asking for said job.\n\n\nHow are we supposed to pay off our student debt if any financial service expects us to have a per meant job to pay anything off??

I bet another reason the government would rather have rentals is they usually pay twice the property taxes that homeowners do. Having carbon tax isn’t a bad idea but you need reasons to incentivize the tax. Like having the proper infrastructure to affectively implement this without reducing quality of life. If everyone has a home that’s close to everything they need then they’re less likely to invest in car or buy gas. Safer narrower streets also help in that. But having a mainly car dependent infrastructure forcing people to get cars then implementing a tax just adds extra expense for an already expensive and ineffective form of transportation that can drive the poor to be poorer.

As a Canadian i think usa is better. More jobs. More opportunities. Looking to buy an eb5 visa. I think eb5 is the only proper way for greencard. Villainizing immigrants is not the way to go here. Citizens and Immigrants are both , regardless of status, subject to the same conditions as workers. Immigrants come here because they have a chance, they dont know about our burdened social services and homeless situations, if u had the same chance as them you would take it, getting angry at immigrants and not the government for not establishing enough social services to tend to THEIR welcoming of millions of immigrants is THEIR fault, NOT the immigrants. For the reason that old white generation was aging and demanding Pension and Health Care. Welfare Chest was showing bottom and had to be replenished by tax money. Young tax payers were needed. India, China and Black Carribian were overflowing with young workers...so they had swollow Colored immigrants. Country was the largest but most commercia cities are at border of America, because north is brutal cold. Canada could not build population. 30m (10% of USA.) And Economically behind CA$= 0.80USD.
