True and sad.\n\nThe other truth with Indians is that no matter how many of them get together or live in the same neighbourhood, they never demand special rights and privileges, block streets and sidewalks praying in public like hypocrites, they never hide their faces with burqas and masks, they are not violent, they never protest like the gazans that disrupt normal life, fill the streets with garbage, block traffic, hospitals and airports, never spray paint stores, businesses, government offices and Churches with graffiti, never vandalize residences, businesses and government buildings like the gazans. I’m a little late to this video but have a lot to say. As a Canadian of Indian descent, I have always avoided Brampton. There is a stark difference between Indians from Brampton and those of us that are from other cities. This situation is out of control mainly due to JT but also colleges that have setup feeder international schools that cater just to Indian students. I’d imagine Chinese students have something similar to this as well, they’re just more quiet. \n\nA lot of the comments come off as offensive but it is what it is, There are too many of my ethnic people here and they’re not assimilating let alone intending to do so. Chain migration is another problem as it brings in an older generation that has no desire to learn English. Crime is having a runaway effect because of the environment they come from, fights break out at intersections, parking lots, backyards, front yards, etc. This is reckless and embarrassing for all Indians, especially us Punjabis. This goes unreported because of how vindictive these people are because of whichever town/city they came from. There are also rumours that these female students are home wreckers so there’s another layer. \n\nMy solution: \n1) Stop immigration, these people are giving our entire community a bad rep when we’ve worked so hard to get to where we are in this country. Return to skills based immigration, not WEF-based. \n2) Cap the international student populations tied to the census - this opens up opportunities for international students from ALL countries and walks of life. \n3) International students cannot be allowed to work - Canadian students First, Canada First. \n4) After graduation, give students 1 year to find a job in their field of study. If they can’t find one, send them back and learn skills and then that’s their only back to Canada. \n5) if they do make it to immigration, we need a better system than just a simple memorization test - have them demonstrate their command of the English language, look at their value added and potential for the future. \n6) Conservatives need to be a part of the solution. A lot of the comments are just complaints and complaining will get these folks voting red vs voting blue each and every time. That guy commenting about no temples in Timmins will just push these people to the liberals and this is what JT is counting on. We need to show these folks what being Canadian is about so that they leave Brampton and assimilate. I’ve introduced countless folks to Pierre and have changed their outlooks, y’all need to do the same. Show them that they’re being used by the liberals and that’ll get them going, cause no one wants to be used. \n\nAs always, TNC reports it as it is and that’s what I’m here for. Thank you!

People across the country are now calling it racist to only acknowledge and recognize the original Canadian holidays we've been recognizing and celebrating for well over 100 years!! They're saying we have to start implementing and recognizing other immigrant holidays... for human rights? Go back to your own country if that's how you want to live. IF you want to be Canadian, you adopt our ways of living. I'm not saying you have to give up yours, but you keep it in your homes, your cultural centres, your circles. You don't try to force our entire country to change for YOU. \n\nThis is what happens when Trudolph opens our country doors and doesn't screen, doesn't even try to keep balance. Like with what's going on with the immigrant student problem. They're coming over, going to school sort of, then getting to stay in the country and get better paying higher up jobs because they went to school, while Canadian students can't get the spots in school, don't get educated and end up working for the immigrants. How is this a system that works for Canadian citizens?? It's NOT blending immigrants in, it's letting them take over and have their way.

I'm an Indian immigrant and lived in ON. I drove through Brampton once and I vowed to never go back there again. But you see this is a vicious consequence of declining birth rates in Canada. Christianity is trampled upon along with its values and principles and this is one of the results. The first thing I asked the day I landed was where were all the Canadians? Have they left the planet? \n\nA country needs people and once a certain ethnic population grows in strength and in numbers the landscape is sure to change. Besides, Canada does not demand immigrants assimilate into the culture, instead it's vice versa and it's disappointing. And when you give up Christianity, what do you expect immigrants to embrace? DEI? That's the last thing they will and continue to push their religions. \n\nBesides, what is Hindu and Pakistani? One is a religion and the other is a nationality. You may want to review that data cos something is off if it's categorized in such a manner.

I'm an Indian Hindu, and I can proudly say that Sikhs protect people, they don't attack. \nBut on the other hand, I agree that the cops are right. USA is a foreign country so Indians going to USA should align to American rules. \nI also like how calm that dude is, the calmness led to the issue being resolved in a peaceful way\n\nIn USA, if a kirpan is not allowed, then simply don't carry it...religion shouldn't be a priority in today's world. Period !

Here is my opinion on this video.\n(First of all, I'm not Indian.)\n\n1. Who let them enter this country? Who approved their visas? What are the colleges, and universities issuing more and more study permits, and offer letters for one particular country? Who is taking the responsibility? \nNobody. \n\n2. Who let them build large temples, mosques and statues in this country? Who permitted to celebrate a mass rallying on public roads? Who is permitted to make a loud noise in a public place? \n\n3. Why are so-called Canadians (especially younger) not getting a higher education? Not willing to get a master's, or Ph.D.’s or even high school education. Why they are willing to get minimum-wage jobs? \n\n4. Why do these Canadians depend on social welfare system even if they can contribute their talent, and labour to this beautiful country? \n\n5. Why do we as a country face a lack of productivity issue rather than our south neighbour USA?\n\nI'm also an immigrant who came to this wonderful country (again I'm not Indian). But what I see, is nobody going to take responsibility for this social, economic and political issue. Liberals complain to conservatives, conservatives point to liberals and so on. But I would say both parties and Canadians let them play their games on this soil now they blame each other. \n\nOne last thing, I respect Canadian culture that’s why I'm in this country. If I can’t respect or adopt Canadian culture I won’t stay here and if I am in India I will respect their cultural values from my heart. If not I'm leaving.

Hey I’m Canadian and I feel bad new comers coming here looking to realize a better life when the reality of that matter the things they can access and freedoms they can have will be limited. There’s a serious medical access and to find a family doctor or wait 12 hours at the hospital. Also when people are professionals like engineers or doctors they have to start from scratch that’s amazing how many doctors or other high level professionals I met as a waiter, taxi driver, working min wage in a store…Oh boy the insane proportions of the housing is ridiculous to say the least. There’s people with 9-5 making 50k at the food banks, now low income people make less wayyy less. So I think they are even turning away international students. It’s quite unfortunate and not realistic. I live in Montreal. You know to know french here Quebec french. Well the increase in crime is because people are getting desperate and are in poverty and desperate. What n unfortunate situation.

I'm so fucking sad everything in this video is true and for my own sake I have to leave the city I love to ever have a shot at a stable career and home. Toronto was where I grew up and my family set down all its roots but it's a nightmare now. Over half of my young 20 to 30 year old friends only managed to move out of their parent's via some combination of couch surfing or cramming themselves into small spaces with other friends\n\nIt's not only NIMBYs, the zoning regulations are ridiculously restrictive and make developers waste land on giant mazes of single family homes that will inevitably be bought up to cram 40 students into each.

I'm an immigrant (came to Canada 40 yrs ago) but I also feel there's far too many immigrants here...this has caused rents/house prices to needlessly skyrocket and now we're unable to buy our own house or condo though we could've afforded it if not for opening the immigration floodgates. \n\nSince we missed the boat on buying our own property, we're now stuck renting from rotten landlords who make too much noise at night and have no respect for tenants and keep demanding higher rents...I'm hoping to rent a house in the future...or maybe have to move to another city or province that's more affordable...GTA has gone down the hole. Funny thing is that the new immigrants are suffering a lot too for the same reasons...some are leaving.

I'm all for immigration to help a country grow however, what Canada has done is first, bring in too many at once and not INTEGRATED the new comers. \n\nFact is, if you want to go to a country because of their freedom and job opportunity then don't come and try to change the country into what you just fled from!!\n\nAnd this is what has happened. Canada has allowed our laws and even speech change to cater to a foreign culture and political idea. Canada became great for what it was and ways it was not for socialism and other country politics. We've got road sign in Pakistan and some in Mandarin and some in blah blah blah. Too many languages creates divide and this is the other issue. Our own country, a country that designates french or English has signs and communities designated in foreign languages. This is not acceptable and is a cause creating divide. You come, you learn the language and INTEGRATE! We loved our country, you wanted to come for what our country has so don't try to turn it into the country you fled! And stop alienating the people who were here before you. \n\nSo, these are the two BIG ISSUES Canadians complain about. Rightfully so. \n\nI myself don't live in Ontario but find Alberta has become a foreign country and I feel like I am in danger now in my own lands. Integration is so important, and Trudeau bringing in millions in a short time line did not integrate but now caused a great deal of violence and many new comers confused and hateful to Canadians when they simply don't understand that what they have done is not integrate but are overtaking and we feel at war with them.

Why the census census states Punjabi and not Indian is that we have a distinct cultural difference. Sadly a lot of the deterioration Brampton is going through is probably what is atypical of Punjab in Pakistan and India. It's the norm to be commit to a time and not show up, commit to work and not complete it, filling out incomplete forms, not being truly honest on your taxes, etc. It's just cultural - no one challenge me on this as I'm ethnically Punjabi from all 4 grandparents!\n\nAlso Canada isn't multicultural as it has an overwhelming amount of Indians, Pakistanis, Philippinos, and Chinese. We lack representation from southeast Asia, Africa, and the most important one - central and south America.

In my city (Windsor, Ontario) we have a college and university that have literally set up “recruitment” centres IN INDIA. I don’t blame the foreigners for coming here, they do it legally and honestly a bunch that I have talked to are struggling themselves.. I’m talking like, 12 guys to a small shared living space (which also negatively effects rent prices.. especially where I live) They expect to come here for a better life but they’re just thrown in the mix with those of us who are already drowning. \n\nThe government just stopped caring about its citizens and it’s really scary. They take the immigrants money and our taxes and they’re content.\nA friend was asked to leave a job fair because it was over capacity.. getting even a minimum wage job is damn near impossible now. \n\nAlso, question, I heard the reason that all minimum wage jobs (fast food restaurants, Walmart etc.) are only hiring Indians is because the government reimburses the employer half of their wage. I tried to do some research on this but couldn’t find anything.. is this true and being kept hush-hush? If it is, we need more people to speak out on this.

I’m born and brought up in Canada, from immigrant parents. If I was not married, I would without a doubt LEAVE. This country has been plucked clean. Canadian born citizen here. I am almost done my degree. Once I'm done well I have been saving up for tuition well before starting university so I will pay that in cash and then head out to perhaps the states. I get it that they have the same issues as us but there is definitely room for improvement. You can't progress in Canada like you can in America. The most you will make in Canada is what you are paid for a few years of experience in America. Have several years of experience? You will make double. It's sad to see what it has become but if no decisions are made on the federal level most will have no choice but to go somewhere else.\n\nEdit: I also have family in America that will allow me to stay with them until I get settled as well. It's a no brainer. But probably will be here for a couple of years to save some cash

Canada is a joke now, trying so hard to be a 51st state. We've got all the crime and all the tent cities to compete with the very greatest American cities. Our tiny little towns now have homeless folks and I fear the day I become homeless.\n\nWe've lost our honour. We've sold out to corporations. He's also happy providing immigrants with subsidized housing while born-and-bred Canadians suffer. They're better off buying an RV but even those cost what a house SHOULD cost.\n\nThis is not the Canada I was born in. It's a total effing disaster. The dude complaining about the volunteers for social services work getting paid is redic. This is work and to maintain it getting done consistently and as often as needed you need to pay peers or employees for their time and work. Yes some people will hold to volunteer work, I do volunteer work myself. But if you're volunteering you're more likely to call out for silly reasons or not work as hard and then you end up short staffed and people not getting the help they need. I have worked in these encampments, got paid, but provided the camps with harm reduction supplies, food & water, and toiletries as well as helping people call Central Intake and references to medical support. That is still work, I would usually walk about 10km a day with a heavy bag on my back and I'm poor disabled person myself. \n\nAs well as addressing unhoused folks using substances, would you want to go to detox while not having a home? It feels absolutely horrible and getting sober when you don't have a bed to shower in, a toilet to use, a shower to clean yourself up in, is really f*cking hard. A lot of people start using substances like meth to help them survive as well, needing it to stay up at night so you don't get attacked at night sleeping. Don't shame substance use, but especially substance use with the unhoused.

What editor for the reputable BBC would even sign off on such a direction? \n\nYES it’s normal to see a drop in citizen application when the government made it much more difficult for permanent residents to do so. There was an intent there to naturally filter out what had become a burden on government funds and resources. I’m sorry but if you are living in Canada’s largest city [Toronto], don’t be shocked that cost of living is ridiculously expensive. The same will apply to every other western nations largest city. And yes Canada’s second largest city [Montreal] is ridiculously cheap, but good luck trying to get in when you not only need the Canadian federal governments approval for citizenship but the Quebec provincial governments as well where fluency in the French language is now a requirement. \n\nAt the end of the day, your education abroad provided you with tools and resources that helped implement your vision. Like me, I already want to move back. Canada was overglamorized. I think I'm just gonna finish my post grad work permit and move back home. At least there, housing is still within my reach. It's rare people doesn't own homes. You can grow food in your backyard. Can live without debt in any way if you choose as we dont rely in mortgages and credit cards or credit scores.\n\nCanada is good in pictures, but not totally in real life. And what I realized is every country has issue in corruption, government, capitalism etc. There's no perfect country, might as well, just have an almost perfect life with loved ones.

I'm one of them.\n\nI landed in October of 2022 as a skilled immigrant, and stayed for a month before returning home to finish off some work commitments.\n\nI haven't returned since, and I don't think I will. I have a decent house, good career prospects/business opportunities back home, and I can take a vacation abroad or travel domestically for fairly cheap multiple times a year. \n\nFree/subsidised government healthcare isn't the best (not the worst either) but we also have private hospitals/clinics that are relatively affordable and fairly quick to access. \n\nFurthermore many other immigrants I know living there are telling me that they are planning on leaving as well.\n\nThe cost of living in major Canadian cities is no joke. I feel for the people born there who don't have other options.

I’m amazed that these families cut corners all their life and with little to no research send their kids abroad. \n\nThe apply board founded with that weird accent SCREAMS wannabe and that’s these students role model.

I'm surprised by how much everyone promotes moving to Nova Scotia, given the housing shortage that has led to exorbitantly high rents, a one-bedroom apartment in an old building costs 1,600, and in new building costs 3,500 per month. And for three people I pay 85 dollars of electricity every two months. Internet is 105 dollars per month. I don't even know what to think as an open work permit holder. Where I was from, 2 years ago, i sent like 20 job applications, went to 5 interviews and got 2 offers. Took me 2 months but that was it.\n\nNow I'm starting my 4th month in toronto and sent more than a hundred applications, and I've not even gotten a single interview. I had naively assumed that having a certified native-level proficiency in English would ease things up a little, but i just feel completely ignored in this city.
