I am from Canada abd what bothers me about some immigrants is that they bring their customs ,and beliefs to my country.. I find that hard to tolerate . Leave your customs behind . I can understand why there is racism

Canada is full of racism and that’s a fact. There is not much of the difference with the States either. Only difference is that Canada’s racism comes in the form institutional and systemic racism. The states have a way bigger platform than Canada so their situations regarding racism will be covered more than Canada’s and also Canada hides behind the “it’s such a diverse country” statement to diverge from the issue of racism. Ask yourself this- Which country do you see a wider diverse representation of, concerning the people in power? In Toronto we just had our first black police chief(which was a big thing here) a few years back while in the States they’ve been having people of colour and many minorities in power. Representation of different ethnic backgrounds is an issue here but nevertheless the states still have a long way to go with racism. I love Canada so much but there is absolutely racism that this country will not bother to even acknowledge

This is for everyone who says why don't you speak English when there in English speaking country well to you Canadian and other people why dont you learn other people's languages when you go on vacation hmm....? Stop expecting the world to conform to your will. I was in Madrid Spain and this Canadian couple didn't even bother learning Spanish when they spoke to us and ask for help. They expect us to conform to them when they are on vacation in a non english speaking country you can't have it both ways that double standard right there.

If Islam doesn't bother you, don't disturb Islam. Let them live where they want, where they are comfortable, and where they are safe.

I live next to a shoppers drug mart and I see natives stealing and walking out without even hiding things and shoppers can’t do a damn thing about it. Never seen a black guy or a white guy do it but many natives, mostly stealing mouthwash. Cops don’t bother showing up unless it gets violent

What bothers me is that I'm being asked to change my life. Bars closed restaurants restricted. Self imposed self distancing. I think these measures are smart. Of course I am from Costa Rica n I have not felt that friendliness from Canadians here in Vancouver whatsoever. I feel them plain n boring n more serious than a potato. But something that really bothers me is that they look scared. They look so scared that I rather not talk to them.

I live in a supposedly muslim country but if you wear hijab or god forbids niqab you are discriminated against. I was looking at candy for my tool truck business, he went as far as to stand directly in front of me, with my face staring at the back of his head inches away pretending to organize the same shelf and candy I was looking at. It infuriated me to a point that I said to him I’ll be calling corporate and showed him my phone screen with my back account balance telling him I didn’t need to steal. I thought it was bad that a year later in Canada, he still isn't speaking English whatsoever, but interviewed in his native tongue. Then I see that he was in the US for 15 freaking years, and didn't bother there either. I see he and his family has no intention of assimilating. How long before we have a little El Salvador, w/ all the crime they supposedly left. People that won't assimilate to us inevitably bring all their country's crap and woes w/ them. Also, this man who can't be bothered to speak our language is getting work in Alberta. Where native Albertans who do speak English are hard pressed for work. So how chaotic is that job site he's working on not speaking the language? Or do we already have little El Salvador there and he's right in w/ his homies?

So desperate to live in English speaking places: USA and Canada, yet they can't be bothered to assimilate properly and learn to speak fluent English.

Ok so there's a lot of back and forth racial comments in here so I'm going out on a limb. I've been living in castlemore bramton since 2005 1st phase. It was multicultural then, which is how it should be. I grew up in Woodbridge where there were more Italians than other cultures, but I could get a job there,and I did not feel out of place. The problem that I have with Brampton is that, the Indians do not hire any other culture in their business places, from the banks straight down to the grocery stores. I would also like to keep my property value up to par and even that's becoming hard. Segregation is UNACCEPTABLE!!. It bothers me that the government is allowing this to happen. I see job postings online that's asking for Punjabi as a second language. Any job postings in Canada should have either French or English requirement, any other language(s) is a plus. This comment is based on my own experience being a resident of Brampton. Facts is facts!

These Chinese did whatever that were in disposal to fraudulently enter here and abuse the system while real Canadian immigrants stay here and build this country and pay half of their income in the form of HST and income tax to grow this country, Canada. They don`t even bother to pay tax or learn basic English and still Canada accepts them.

To have, apparently, no English whatsoever after so many years does not indicate a desire to integrate. The (once) United Kingdom's seriously overburdened NHS spends 23 million a year on translators in 128 languages and many 'migrants' see this as an entitlement; indeed, it is a disincentive for some to even bother trying to learn English. This particularly pertains to many migrants from the middle-east and china and one Afghan patient whose family are regular beneficiaries of both the NHS and its translation services recently claimed (having been here for several years) that his wife (only in her 30s) would not be learning English because; 'It's too difficult' so for some, unfortunately, there is no will at all to assimilate. Housing and social security payments are, of course, part of the package and these individuals produce no net benefit at all either socially or economically and it's getting worse so spare me the bleeding heart rhetoric we keep hearing from mainstream (almost exclusively liberal) media. The BBC which is funded by the British Taxpayer cannot be relied upon to tell the truth or give the facts and continues to actively promote uncontrolled 'migration' so I think it's fair to say that they are fully facilitating the 'Kalergi Plan' and the decimation of the cultures and peoples of Europe!

By these comments, Canadians hate immigrants even more than American white supremacists. This man is scared for himself and his family. His case is just ignorance. He doesn’t know the proper ways to go about it. Him getting a lawyer and what not has showed he’s a bit smarter than many immigrants seeking asylum but most cases people don’t know the proper way to migrate out of their countries. They just know that there are better and safer opportunities elsewhere. As for everyone whining about why he doesn’t speak English, not EVERYONE CAN LEARN AT THE SAME PACE. There’s people that live in other countries for years and only know enough to get around and then theres people that just pick up on languages In less than a year. The language doesn’t matter. I’m sure he knows enough to communicate with people. I’m more surprised at the amount of people that law this and law that. Yes there are laws that should be followed but do people even consider morality? I hope none of you alls countries go to war or are over taken and you have to try to seek asylum in another country because I highly doubt you all would escape the ‘proper’ way. I respect all peoples...but I once went into an Asian owned store, and was followed around, and spoked about in their native tongue negatively (I understood what they said) and I asked them why they were speaking about me this way... they were shocked. And they didn’t bother me again for the rest of my shopping experience.
