The reporter misdirected the whole story. The story was about tariffs and their effects on both the U.S. consumers and the public as well as the country of Colombia. The story is not about how people planning to come to to the U.S. feel, even though that is of interest. This is an example of how the media and reporters miss the point. Bad journalism.

If such a president were given legitimate influence, power, and authority over all other countries, that person would be called the President of the World or like maybe, Jesus Christ. However, we have built a house, we have some land, two dogs, a cat, and some chickens. We have a car and food. It's more than I ever dreamed of. So naive. How do you possibly think we can accommodate, feed and subsidise everyone who just wants to come to Europe. The vast majority are not refugees they are illegal migrants. They could use the money to come legally? And, as said before, why do their fellow Muslims not help them? The racism goes both ways. I grew up feeling disrespected and mistreated by them (not all of them but a LOT of them). I try to be respectful and give everyone a fair chance, but it's really difficult when they are constantly being rude when I interact with them, or giving me death glares... like what did I even do?? I have been bullied by them in the workplace, and made fun of by them out in public. And for NO reason. I try so hard to be nice, but it's clear that so many of them hate me before I even open my mouth. I know a handful of them that are really awesome people though... but they respect the culture here in canada, and they treat all people like actual people.

Its not just an employer issue though, these corporations see dollars, the rest of us see taxes, overflowing school,s lack of teachers, lack of translation supports, lack of hospital systems, lack of housing , food bank runs as wages cannot support cost of living, homelessness crime and drug use. Disruption of neighbourhoods with 10-15 people piling into suburban homes and messing it up. They should not be here until the foundations are set. What new infrastructure is planned by these departments and on whose bill? Is it started yet as constructions are 5 years out . There is literally no long term joint plan here , just hoard type mentality. A failure at all levels of join thinkng in this government. And now its gonna get worse.

As an Pakistani American, Indians in the US do very well. The ones coming to the US are professionals mostly. The Indian community does not always mingle though. But in reality waiting 250 days for an interview is ridiculous. I sure hope this does not have something to d with incoming administration and racist dog whistles.

One more rant with no objective understanding or study of the core issue. Unfortunately many tourists from India are a disgrace and have very little civic sense. Though VISA applications cannot measure that, they just keep the total numbers low by bringing in additional restrictions.

I have heard Indians (from India) refer to Canada laughingly as The New India. They come in and take over the tech markets whilst employing their own with the best jobs. Go into these companies and see for yourselves...about 85% Indians via Indian recruiters. And then they act as though nothing is out of place as they replace everyone.

For the first time in nearly a hundred years our local food banks had to shutter and turn people away because INDIANS were using it as a free grocery store when they had FULL TIME JOBS and brand new bmws, then they post videos on social media saying ‘how to get free food in canada’, while some poor emaciated bastard gets turned away. What makes it worse, a lot of these Indians, especially in the prairies, already have their groceries subsidized by federal government, and they STILL abuse the food bank. It’s not just food bank either, they all apply for welfare and immediately get assistance even though it takes months to get as a natural born citizen, and that’s even if you get it. I was shocked to find out the federal government was paying indians to move out of Ontario and BC into Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba because the coastal cities infrastructure was about to implode in certain areas. So they they told these people to move inland, and if they do and stay there for 18-24 months, they get $3300 dollars a month every month for that duration. My disability cheque, that I paid into for 40 years of hard work, comes out to 950 dollars a month. This is absurd. These people get literally everything handed to them, and STILL abuse the programs meant for those who are struggling. I have never in my life met such an arrogant and utterly dishonest and disgusting group of peoples in my life. This isn’t just one or two bad apples, this is happening in every city around here. They also get first dibs on any and all medical treatment and specialists. Many local residents who have already been on waiting lists for years to get treatment are getting bumped in order to accommodate the new invaders. It’s basically impossible to find a doctors or dentists office accepting new patients. ER rooms are full constantly of these people coming just for runny noses and coughs, clogging up the already strained healthcare system. The prairies hospitals (at least where I live) were barely holding together before this nonsense. Yet somehow, this is all just white people being racist huh? \nWell I’ll tell you what, I’m not white, my people were on this land long before anyone else can claim to be, and while I’ll admit there’s often still a lot of animosity between natives and whites, youd be quite surprised to see how many of us are in agreement towards the current behaviour of these people.

What about a baby born with one American and one immigrant parent? Then what happens with that baby, can they deny that child its citizenship even though literally half its bloodline was born and raised in the U.S.?

Contrary to what you said about India rising- I beg to disagree with you. Indian workers abroad are resorting to all sorts of scams everywhere they go (apple sacking Indian workers for malpractices is the latest example). Suddenly Indian people are not welcome anywhere and the falling of our passport rankings is indicative enough. Just go to Thailand and though you are free to roam around you are not really welcome!
