I live in London i know all about International students and how crazy things are since rental properties are non existent and the price has skyrocketed for rental properties and another is the city transit system that is always packed with many buses are having to tell people to wait for the next bus because it is so packed. it is getting out of control in my opinion because not only do we have the students we have all the Asylum seekers on top of that and how they add to the wait lines in the ER and walk in clinics. and then they are looking for places to rent to but there is nothing because everything is packed.

The Arab world are using the Palestinian people as martyrs. They won't take them in as refugees because they don't want to deal with the economic and social outcomes that EU and US have with asylum seekers. But they also don't won't to help them fight either. They will sit there and watch Palestinians boil in a pot. Then blame Israel when they are done, and do nothing to help. Some pals. Even Iran with the most to gain will do nothing, because they don't care about Palestinians just regional power.

Toronto is going through the same thing as Hong Kong Chinese Racketeers drove the prices up with condo rates in Toronto in the 1990s and they never were under Rent Control. Everybody was moving in the 1990s into the Royal York back then as Hollywood Actors could not afford the condo fees as all Movies are for Free and nobody made any money acting. There were no real Rent Subsidies in Toronto like in New York though as the City was not meant for Foreign Nationals to Scam Rent Subsidies out of the Government. Toronto is getting to be that way as Hollywood Royalty is all Canadians who grew up in Richmond Hill and were working as Government Staff. You definitely don't live in Canada right now. When you seek Asylum, it is from the place you came from and in this case it is U.S.A. which is a first world country. You cannot seek asylum from U.S.A. that is not how asylum works because I came to Canada 30 years ago on asylum and I applied via Canadian embassy in that country.....it took 4 years. Ten years before I got here asylum seekers when allowed to come were on contract to live and work in Winnipeg for 4 years before they can leave province.

Podcast very interesting conveying true picture. I am 71 and had canada citizenship in 1988. I stayed there for 15 days after getting PR but returned . Although later i hv been to canada and UK several times as long term visitor. I hv so many other reservations about these two countries especially related to its future after 20 yrs because of their liberal policies on refugees and asylum seekers. Their economy is going down and down. In comparison Australia seems to be a younger country with good climate round the year with good prospects

There is no economy for accepting more asylum seekers. The system is already drained with Ukraine,Afghan, and other refugees. Trudeau government needs to rethink their strategy to why this helps us. \nInterest rates and inflation are to help offset the war in Ukraine. That needs to be compared to another Afghanistan. Most likely, we will be in it for the long haul and pull out if it never ends. Our country will pay the price drastically.

Toronto is not the best choice to live, very overpopulated. Maybe asylum seekers should go to a city that less populated.
