Housing should be free premium houses must be sold only. This is greatest flaw of democracy and it needs to be fixed. Housing must be a right. All people need to have a roof above their heads.

I noticed one glaring error in your video. Shaw sold off it's mobile phone division (Freedom) to Videotron, which is a Quebec based company. The merger would not have been permitted if this did not happen over issues of the largest mobile cell phone company owning the 4th largest. The competition bureau actually sued rogers and shaw to prevent their merger, but a court sided with the companies citing the sale of Freedom as one of the reasons why.

With all due respect saying the govt should help them get jobs here doesn't reflect what they do for most who were born here or immigrated otherwise than coming as an international student. It's not a right to stay. I feel bad for those who were sold a lie by the immigration consultants but something needs to be done to fix things as it's so badly broken. We're not promised all of these things that some of the students are thinking they're entitled to now that they're here. Sadly too many feel so entitled nowadays regardless of where they come from

Its a simple thing. Folks are trying to leave for a better life, they then got to know about Canada giving 3years postgraduate work permit to international students who studied for two years and, there are permanent residence programs you qualify and can apply for after getting one year Canadian work experience. This is what encouraged many international students to head in this direction. Unfortunately, half of about 800,000 international students admitted to Canada came from India (if i'm not mistaken), many of them had to borrow the money to pay fees or their family sold their ancestral land or used it borrow money with the hope that when their child who they sponsored with the money is done, he/she will be the family's hope to not only pay back, but help them relocate too. However, the picture is not looking like it anymore as the demand for jobs surged and many are not able to get jobs or can't find the kind of jobs that can make them get PR and, their current work permit is about to expire, which means they may be faced with going back home with nothing so, they are pulling every string they can to stay back because, returning will mean they are a failure and can even cause their family a lot of emotional damage. Infact, i have heard of some of them who committed suicide as they are not meeting up and are not ready to go and face the shame back home. So, what you are seeing is the definition of desperation!

International students are coming to Canada stealing all the entry level jobs that are supposed to be for students that are born here. Its not Canadians fault that Indians were sold fake dreams by their own people. Now a days you see international Indians working every where even in places like Mandarine....

Canada has nothing to manufacture. We just sell fake dreams. Canada is more corrupt than some third world countries. international student were sold a dream, they paid 3 times tuition fee, work three times, and they will pay employers 35 to 40 thousand dollar for Fake LMIA to get PR. Real estate agents are the biggest culprits in the rise of prices. I’ve been there several times as telling me my house is worth hundreds of thousands more or we can say exaggerated by 30% or more then my house is on the market for a year which is nota big deal for an agent they have 40 other listings and access to more moneymakers , I’ve sold my last 2 homes personally within days or weeks which were reasonably priced not overpriced this made everyone happy . They were scammed by “immigration consultants” in India who promised them that the students won’t have a problem finding a job or housing and that they would get\n\na proper education. Hopefully the real truth is now out and their numbers will slowly be reduced in time.

Many of these students were sold a bill of goods by various people who promised more than they should have. As our PM has stated students coming over has not been the issue, but having temporary workers come over has been. What had been traditionally 2% has been 7% plus. This is what needs to be reduced, but in most of these cases no one wants to do the jobs they have, such as fruit picking. Bigger problem is Fake LMIA. Companies charge up to 35,000 for fake LMIA to get PR. One trucking company laied off 90 truck drivers and gave 35 fake LMIA (sold to make money). And this stupid government thinks we have labour shortage. This country is f..d up

Well, why did Canada sell dreams, when it clearly knew that giving permanent residency was not possible for everyone? Candian politicians are to blame, closely followed by the universities and colleges, who sold education with the promise of PR.

Indian here, I applied for a Canada PR and just missed the PR score cut off by a few points, I am from one of the top universities in India, have a computer science bachelors and masters in economics, I am opening my own tech startup here and would have loved to open it in Canada and drive Canada's GDP. \n\nBut you know who get the highest score for PR? Low skilled people who do fake degrees(which are so easy to get it is lame, by the way I can also do it, but it will spoil by education reputation). The immigration system of Canada is a joke, It treats all degrees, jobs and universities as equal. Best of all I was offered to pay $20k by someone to get a Canadian PR. Again I can pay that much but do I want to immigrate to a country whose citizenship is being sold this cheap?\n\nTrust me when I say it Canada is getting the most average and at times the worst people from India. Indian government though should thank Canada for taking all these low skilled people from India that send Canadian Dollars back to India. They take away the middle class jobs, housing, etc in Canada and worse for Canada send back money to India leading to pressure on Canadian currency and reserves.\n\nThe simplest solution is to halt whatever nonsense immigration policy Canada has and only allow three kinds of immigration, people who secure high paying jobs in recognised companies, entrepreneurs that get funding from investors Canadian government recognises and count university scores only from top tier universities. Finally make it super easy for these high skilled people and difficult for anyone else.

This video is a load of crap. People want to live in cities that is why it is expensive. It is that way all over the world. I just sold my mom’s 3 bedroom house for 27,000 in small town Saskatchewan. Took 2 years to sell because no one wants to live in a small town. The utilities and taxes come to only 3,000 a year. As for grocery prices i just came back from a trip to the USA and checked their grocery stores. Their prices are the same or higher and in US dollars.

Somebody sold them businesses and homes for handsome sums. Much of old stock camada is aged and susceptible to things like covid. Many people have an ego that keeps them from taking on a job. The rate of immigration is not sustainable. The resources are shipped out raw. Nobody wants to live in the cold parts of the country. Globalization is dumb but trade is necessary. We were not ready.

What no one talks about is that the Land transfer tax is charged every single time a house is sold regardless of how many times the same house is sold in a year or 10 year, it is charged every single time. So the price goes up the moment you get your keys. If the government gets rid of the land transfer tax the prices wont increase as fast. The government will never talk about that because they make a killing our of land trasfer taxes. Especially in ontario and cities like vancouver and toronto. Yet they claim to be broke all the time

People are being forced out of Brampton like us, our old cars were being vandalized regularly our house windows were rocked until we sold it.

I regret all the hardwork i put in to become a pr in canada. I became a lawyer and found a fulltime job only to realise the facts stated herein. Why do they keep showing Justin Trudeau? These problems have been building for decades. I sold my house 5 years ago for over 100% what I paid for it, and lived in it for about 5 years. The current government had been in power for two years at the time. We’re never going to solve these problems as a nation if we just use them for partisan election engineering instead of recognizing the real causes.

This is why people hate politics, hate politicians, distrust the government, feel hopeless to ever own a home like one they probably grew up in that was 10 to 20x less expensive than prices they are facing. The home I am sitting in cost $120K when it was built in 1977, now it recently sold for $1.2 million, a 10X increase in price, up from $400k just 10 years ago. So now to own a normal middle class home in suburbia near Seattle, you have to make $250,000 per year in income, so the American Dream and American Middle Class are vanishing ideas.

After losing my home due to interest rate hikes, I sold everything and moved to Turkey to survive retirement. This is Canada.

i am in a college in a small town in Ontario and in my class we have 54 students and only 4 not including me are local students and the rest basically 90% are indian and the rest nepali from Philippines and some African countries and i moved here from usa with my family in 2015 and even up till 2019 canada was livable and now its not its impossible my plan is when i graduate i will move back to usa or some cheap country like Mexico Thailand and work remotely i am not against immigration but the path this country is going in accepting crazy amounts of student visa is wild also i feel some what bad for some of these students they get sold on a lie being canada is affordable they can find job easily and live comfortable but at the same time these students should do their research and its nothing but a infinite money maker for collages but at the same time they are kind of forced to do so to make money cause here in Ontario ford cut budgets for collages

A large population of White Canadians sold their homes to Indians and moved north especially to Orangeville and many sourrounding cities as well. Brampton is what it is because people dont want to live among different people. Whites saw Indian coming in and left and Indians desired to live among their own kind.
