Hi, i have a question. I am from the netherlands 25 years old and works currenctly as a network security engineer. \nI completed a two year vocational program at a technical college. Is this all enough to immigrate to canada? Kind regards

Boss, i stay in India and life here too is now as complicated as it is in the West, if not more! In today's urban India most of them don't know who their neighbours are/ don't interact with them for years together. Even amongst the neighbours, they keep in touch with each other via mobile phone (predominantly WhatsApp). Children avoid staying with parents and relatives at ALL costs to an extent where they even leave their natives/ immigrate abroad to achieve the objective. Work pressures at the Indian private sector is probably the highest in the world where most employees don't even have time to breathe let alone interact! Btw for those who argue that the Western society is highly depressed and immoral blah blah blah, lemme give you a reality check- India is almost about to become the dubious capital of depression of the world, divorces in Indian society is SO high that it's way too common now to see people who've been divorced/ married second or third time, people fighting marital disputes in courts for years and years and in most cases paying off the girls family hefty and mouth watering out of court settlements to achieve peace of mind......the list is endless......so where does an ordinary 21st century Indian achieve peace of mind and a peaceful life with a quality lifestyle to boot? It's obviously the Americas and Europe (mostly). It may seem ironic to some old timers, but it's the harsh realities of the world today.

I think if you were a doctor or a nurse in your old country and you immigrate to Canada you should be able to continue on in your medical field here in Canada without going through all the BS of exams. This is why we have a shortness of doctor's and nurses here in Canada because the frigging Government won't do anything about it. Except bring more and more refugees in to Canada and illegal migrants using up Canada's healthcare system that the Canadian taxpayers in Canada are force to pay for even though they have family members who are in dire need of medical attention, but the line up and wait time to see a specialist takes a lot of time. If a immigrant is coming to Canada and he or she is a doctor or a nurse and English is not their first language, well then put that immigrant person in an ESL class to learn English or a French learning class if that person is moving to Montreal or anywhere else in Quebec.

I think the problem in Canada, and its the Government of course, is they are doing what they may ridicule other countries of doing, and that is cheap labour and more revenue. The people who built this country would be rolling over their graves if they new what this country of Canada is doing today. That is why if you notice they open the doors hugely and manly for Asian cultures. They promote immigration by using opportunity for a better life, then they make people struggle because they cant not even afford a home. They rely on all this housing and condo development to fill them with larger families for more taxes and revenue while they people next to nothing. Canada DOES NOT SUPPORT its own industrial and manufacturing growth and small business because its much cheaper to have everything made in China which support foreign slave labour. Sometimes I feel ashamed ro be Canadian, however I like to say I am proud to be OLD SCHOOL CANADIAN.

Holy cow, are we really the safest?? It's true that news buzz don't do that justice and sometimes makes us wonder if our crime rate is actually increasing... although it has likely increased all around the world due to stress caused by COVID now that I think about it.\n\nI did not expect us to become number 1 still lol, we have a lack of manpower that makes our healthcare suffer (all of our jobs suffer... we NEED NEW PEOPLE!!) which is enough to make an old senior's house close permanently and because of history and current nationalism, immigration can be a super challenge for people of color. I disagree. I'm a 34-year-old, born and raised in Canada. Most jobs go to immigrants hands down! They are obsessed with diversity. With my name alone, I get looked past because it's actually a name people can pronounce. Plus, with the past 2 years with the Canadian gov going communist, I don't blame anyone for wanting to get out.

Does the word 'refugee' not have any meaning to anybody anymore? Pffft. It's like this in Europe. Let's be honest, most are economic migrants not refugees and I find it deeply insulting to see such powerful words abused and entirely watered down in meaning. It's like the gross abuse of words like 'phobic', 'fascist' and 'racist' etc. The more you fling them around as pejoratives that enforce or heighten some emotional angle in your rhetoric, as a dopey shorthand smear word, the greater the REAL damage. If you genuinely care about words and their meanings. There's nothing wrong with immigration whatsoever, the problem is illegal immigration and people who play the system. It angers everybody, especially other legit immigrants, interestingly enough. I laugh at these soft-headed, sheltered types believing all the sob stories they're fed, the images they first see and take entirely to heart. Canadian immigration sucks. There is no control. I came as an immigrant and I witnessed many heart wrenching situations. Ghost immigrants and non resident Canadian citizens living in India, Dubai, Russia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, Turkey, HongKong etc. They barely lived in Canada, yet they have same rights like us, take child support subsidies, welfare, CPP, Old Age while we bust our a....s in the cold to pay taxes and build the Canadian system. There are also fake refugee scams, many people from China, USA, Africa, Middle East are not real refugees, they have decent lives in their own countries, however, they can't immigrate through legal ways, either they are too old or they don't have enough work experiences or educations, they cheated and they claimed that they are refugees. To me, it looks like Vice is really trying to pull the emotional card to get people to sympathize with this man because he really is in a rough situation. But, he is in a situation of his own making. It sounds like he had not done any prior research about Canada before deciding to claim refugess status. Yes, Trudeau was not giving the full truth when he made those public announcements to the media. Yes, people (educated or not) can be swayed by words of leaders they respect. But, to think you can just enter another country and claim refugee status without understanding what that actually entails is very naive. Canada has very transparent laws that are easily accessable in a multitude of different languages. The provinces also have legal assistance for those who can not afford lawyers. So, the fact that this man was able to spent $15,000 when he is being portrayed as a low income earner makes me question his income, or if he was even aware that he could apply for legal assistance. And since he has a lawyer who has been working his case, I would like to assume that the lawyer would have said something about assistance.\n\nI really want to be sympathetic for this man and his family, because security uncertainty makes life extra hard. But, as I have had to live in more than one country due to the Canadian immigration system refusing my husband due to a very old DUI (which has set our life on a completely different plan than anticipated), I have a very hard time being sympathetic when I feel as though they did not reach out to educated themselves on the laws of another country. I am a Canadian who currently can't live in Canada with my husband of 3 years and I still don't hate my country. I respect the hell out of it (this is not to get into our historic treatment of BIPOC, which deserves it's own seperate time and is a bloody stain on our land's history.)

God this documentary is so flawed. The symphony? Really? You are comparing the 50s from today? There were much less immigrants in Canada back then. There were less immigrants and ppl of color that played instruments. And those that did, less of them actually tried out for a symphony. And then the blind resume test totally proved no bias. I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

I grew up in BRAMALEA, now incorporated with Brampton. BRAMALEA was an idyllic community made up primarily of Brits, European, and African-Canadians. Then Justin’s Dad (Pierre) opened the floodgates of immigration in the ‘70’s to ensure his re-election while transforming Canada into a Socialist Society (Socialized “Free” Health Care paid for by mammoth taxes on the middle class) while promoting “Multiculturalism” as the new Canadian Utopia. In his later years, while close to death, Pierre declared that “Multiculturalism DOESN’T WORK!” And, guess what? Neither does “Free” Healthcare!” As each culture swelled, they felt as though they didn’t need to assimilate. When I return to Canada/Brampton to visit family, I’m disgusted! The Indian residents (who Now comprise about 90% of BRAMLADESH’s population) do NOT look after their housing/property. The older/original neighborhoods where I grew up (well-cared for homes with manicured lawns, lush green-belts with pathways connecting neighborhoods and parks) now borders on slum-like conditions. It’s sad and downright depressing when I visit. All of my high school friends have fled the dilapidated area, and no wonder! Canada’s lax immigration laws, failed “Multiculturalism” and Socialist welfare system have all destroyed Canadian culture AND their middle class (strangled by immense taxation). I was fortunate to have grown up in the BRAMALEA of old, but I am so blessed to have escaped when I did! ??

What are people talking about saying half of Canada is french! Canadians are English and there used to be tons of us in Montreal, but 300,000 left in a mass exodus to get the French whip off their backs, they even fill the French text books with lessons given by the French whip instead of the truth about how the French didn't want to fight in the war and the old cemeteries are full of Irish, Scottish and British soldiers like my grandfather and uncle buried in veteran memorial plots with sad little Quebec government markers! Meanwhile, their English speaking grandchildren like myself not only have a back full of lash marks from the French whip but the French speaking immigrants think they can use the French whip to grind us into the ground our ancestors are buried in as well!!!

There are free classes everywhere. Idk why he hasn't bothered so far. Hell, he could hire a tutor and use old discarded *also free* college textbooks to learn more. Student tutors charge around $25/ hour and would likely sit down with the whole family 2 hours/ week for that pay rate.

These people heard Trudeau speak about open arms at the height of the Syrian refugee crisis. I don't remember his exact words but I'm sure he didn't mean come one, come all, forever and ever. Every country has immigration restrictions and it's sad that people who are uneducated or don't speak multiple languages don't have the resources to research their best options. This is where international, or bilateral assistance programs between countries need to help each other. Hell, I live in U.S., well educated, 64 yrs old and don't know specifically what our immigration laws are!

Maybe immigrants of colour would have an easier time if they actually acted like immigrants of past to this country, the Italians, Portuguese etc they came to Canada and they didn't ask for handouts like the ones who come these days from India, Sri Lanka etc who get on welfare. In the past they came with the intention of actually becoming Canadians and assimilating, the ones now come and all they want to do is create their own little old countries here in Canada.

I used to be a very liberal person for most of my life and tolerant of other cultures and religious faith, like many others I may add.\n However my tolerance is wearing somewhat thin, like many others I may add again, after hearing the same old opinions coming from Muslims repatriated in western societies. \n They come into our cultures on mass and never assimilate into ours, but create their own little pockets of cultural being within our national borders.\n We hear time and again how the indigenous populist must be accepting of them, even though very few are accepting of our culture, using an analogy it's akin to inviting a stranger into your home and give them a safe place to live, food, money and all items that go along with it, and the next thing their sat on your favourite chair with your remote in their hand, even going to bed with your wife!\n We need to wear our head covering it's our right they chant, OK then, afford the same favours to us in your country, let my partner wear her bikini when she's walking down the road, let us drink alcohol, build Christian churches, you get where I'm going with this.\n If it's so great there why do you choose to live here? All the customs you seek are there if you feel that uncomfortable here? \nGiving Sewden as an example, there are now 180 Muslim 'ghettos' not the same you get in the US as the accommodation and welfare is quite generous there, a lot of them are 'No-go' areas even for the police, they mostly hate the Swedish people, a criminal element there will only rob off the swedes, and rape has gone up tenfold committed mostly by the Muslims, and it's only going to get worse as they are accepting another forty thousand of them, even though they have a crisis of a shortage of housing. \n If you ever needed an example of when your political parties have totally lost the plot, and are insanely progressive and what your country could become, then use Sweden as a barometer as to what your country could also decay into.\n The Muslims hate use, hate our freedoms, and just think of us as 'infidels' , multiculturalism has proved on this scale that it does not work, unless immigrants come with the mindset that they assimilate into the culture they are heading for, not the other way around.
