Every Democrat was making the point that only the host country pays for the tariffs that it puts on items. Why is Canada upset? If we have to pay the tariffs. And then canada's answer is to what make their own people pay tariffs, that doesn't make any sense. I am very sorry for the damage and suffering that these tariffs and trade wars will cause to people in our two countries, as it is clear that many people are. It is obvious that Donald cares more about himself and his various fantasies than he cares about other people. Canada should do everything in its power to reduce its dependence on the USA for trade and security to protect itself from a Trump administration gone crazy. There is a chance that the current policies of the Trump administration will be carried forward by future Republican presidents given how the party is now dominated by MAGA people. We all need to consider the possibility that the USA will not be going back to normal anytime soon.
