I'm an immigrant who came here with my family on a sponsorship program in 2008. Never got in trouble, worked two jobs and busted our asses off to get the citizenship in 2014. What has happened to Canada under Trudeau's incompetent government with his mass immigration policies and taking in low-class South Asians who do nothing but scam their way to the top is nothing but a tragedy. Canadian-born citizens are waking up and hate is brewing against Indians and Muslims.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. If only there was a way for the system to allow people who really care about Canada to get a shot at being part of this beautiful country.\n\nThank you for making these videos.

Who created immigration?
\nUpon its establishing independence from England the United States Congress passed an immigration act in 1790. This Naturalization Act allowed white and free immigrants to gain naturalized citizenship after having lived within the boundaries of the United States for two years.

If you were to migrate to the country this immigrants came from no western person would be considered from that country. \nBut when so many immigrants migrate to western countries and claim asylum and get citizenships they call themselves Canadians.

If indians are so educated, why cant they understand that it's not a right to illegally enter other countries and demand citizenship, this has to be the dumbest group of people with no civic sense.

Ms Mexican-American, if your family members are deported because they came into the country illegally they will never be able to apply for citizenship! I think they would not even be able to apply for at least 10 years... Could change you will be dead before they can even start the process that may take an additional 6 years after waiting at least 10 years to apply which totals almost 20 years.

Trudeau and Miller let in numerous terrorist including an ISIS terrorist who mutilated a man tied to a cross and the granted Canadian citizenship to him.
|
| 2024-11-28 | 0 |
This is not informed, These people will appeal and will be granted citizenship, which is what he means what he will be proud of. Reason involves hardship, treat's, being bisexual, trans , gay. Ukraine's and Palestine's and families were granted citizenship and welfare plus housing. Canada may deport the students and seasonal workers to look good. However the illegals along with the ISIS people that they have lost on Canada. Trumps actions are direct and he will take action, don't compare USA and Canada. Be informed, get answers, talk with people, then deal with one issue at a time, then maybe you may get answers.

What these people have to realize is that is that as non citizens you have very few rights. You as a visitor have to have an exit plan. Not us. No Canadian said to students or any immigrants that they are guaranteed citizenship once school is completed. Canadian citizens are without work , living on the streets, eating from food banks. Why on earth would we open the flood gates to immigrants. It really doesn't matter what they think. It's about what we as Canadians know. End of story. There really isn't anything questionable.

I apologize to all the Canadians ??!!! Canada has always been a strong ally of the U.S. and a great friend!! Many Americans and Canadians have family together, dual citizenship, and travel and live back and forth in both countries. I am so sorry Trump is being awful to you.\n\nDecreasing the flow of illegal drugs and reducing fentanyl deaths in both countries would benefit Canada and the U.S. Both countries are close partners and I’m sure are already working to address this. I’m sure all Trump had to do was ask nicely and Canada would have handedly agreed to work with the U.S. amid redoubled efforts.

The worst part of people like this in the country is they'd close the door on you to save themselves. I don't understand why we'd want people like that here. Her citizenship will probably get revoked and she'll probab get sent back to.

Does she not know that Trump plans to reverse citizenships of persons that were not born in this country? FAFO
|
| 2024-11-26 | 0 |
Little does she know - she is also on Miller's list! Bu-bye! Naturalized citizens are being targeted with denaturalization - They'll review her application, if she made an a that looked like an o - she could be going back to Mexico herself - even if she has not maintained citizenship there.

The footage where they focus on non-caucasians seems in bad taste. Seems to imply they're the so-called immigrants. Canadian citizenship isn't synonymous with a particular ethnicity.

I have ethnic background from Hong Kong and have been living in Canada for almost 40 years. I love Canada and am proud of this beautiful country. However, I think part of the immigration problem we have is the ongoing issue of allowing dual citizenship of everyone who have become a Canadian citizen. I have personally known lots of HK immigrants who would return to their own countries to work as soon as they have got their Canadian passports. Normally one of the parents would stay with their children here for free schooling, medical care and child tax benefits. Their children will follow their parents to go back to HK after they graduated from universities in order to avoid the higher income tax . Unfortunately, those parents will come back to retire in Canada so that they can get free health care benefits and OAS once they have fulfilled the residency requirement of 10 years. Canada do need more skilled and educated immigrants to make our country more prosperous but not those who try to take advantage of our lenient immigration policies. I think we should take back the passports of those who have left Canada for more than 2 years or those who have evaded taxes so that we do not continue to support those never contributed to our country. PS, I mentioned about HK only because of my origin and I believe the same problem would be caused by immigrants from other countries too.

Her family is going to laugh their butts off when they see her on the deportation plane/bus because repubs new immigration laws strip her of her citizenship.
|

This might possibly be an indicator that we give out permanent residence and citizenship far too readily.
|

Why doesn't she have her indian passport ? you can't abandon your country's passport and then cry when visas are not delivered. But i agree that the officer should consider the situation and how important it is for someone. I guess we have to hear the full story to have the full picture.\n\nEdit : India doesn't allow dual citizenship according to google, that may be why she needs a visa for her own country
|
| 2024-11-24 | 0 |
I wonder why they’re angry at her??? Could it be betrayal of your own family or the Racist undertones that the campaign produces or the fact that her family members have built an entire life here and she’s OK with Ruining that. Also, I don’t think she realizes that the Trump campaign is against Gaining a green card or any kind of citizenship here if you have a family member that can sponsor you.

I really appreciated your vidéo. \nI am not canadian yet. Counting month before I could apply for citizenship.\nYes the differents level gouvernments are the 1st accountable. \nI wont put all indians in the same bag. Cause I know somes good people from india. But in the same time I received sometimes bad quality service as customer and often its from indians quality. Sometimes Indians people are staring at me when I am doing extra money by doing food deliveries. \nI try to explain canadians just judge only people on their actions never where they are from ou color skin

Typical proud indians : Indians surrendering passports and renouncing citizenship to settle abroad\n???

I agree with all you said. I left Canada in 2018 after struggling there for 20 years. I am fortunate to also have American citizenship. Unsure why I held out in Canada as long as I did. So much easier to live in the USA. One thing you missed were the lockdowns. It caused massive disruption to people’s lives and many friendships and families were destroyed. My mother left in 2022 for exactly those reasons. Many others that she’s met now in her current country of residence left for the same reasons. Trudeau. What can I say…??

They are not there for education .. they are there for citizenship

I dont dusagree that ppl should try to come here under legal measures. \nI dont agree with them being herded like animals and sent back. There needs to be a revision of the immigration laws that open and facilitate a pathway to legal citizenship

It's real simple; enforce citizenship verification for ALL employers.\n\nIf the money dries up, the problem goes away.

They got what they came for, made their money and probably keep dual citizenship. \nOther factors cost of living taxes affordability and the unhispitable climate towards immigrants now!

Many never planned on staying they made 3 year commitment to get citizenship. Getting citizenship after only 3 years is crazy.
|

In my opinion The longer stay of immigrants like 20 years they get pensions which they don't have in Canada and move back to their own countries I would assume those who are not on wait list to recieve canadian citizenship fro perminant residence status have no intention of staying in Canada in the long run ir they would be also applying for citizenship not just perminant residency status in my opinion.

To her point, should her citizenship revoked? Because she’s been harboring them for years, as she said! Just asking for a friend.

Seriously, this is an absolutely disgraceful and pathetic attack by the liberals. Here is the cold hard fact. The government controls immigration. The government controls who and how many. The liberals have been granting student visas for years, literally unchecked in both numbers and who they were given to. The schools merely took in however many the liberals let in. Hundreds of thousands of them. Had trudeau set a reasonable cap to begin with, then the schools would only be accepting that capped number. The more trudeau let in, the more the schools took on. This wasnt the fault of the schools. This is an absolute direct result of the liberal government completely screwing up the immigration system. \n\nNot only did trudeau let in far too many students which blew up school enrolment, but it messed up the entire employment system, healthcare system and housing market. Not to mention that it drained the foodbanks and students were using them as their grocery store. Now we have hundreds of thousands of international students demanding trudeau support them, give them housing, jobs and citizenship. To say trudeau completely wrecked immigration doesnt even come close to what has resulted. The entire country is now reeling from this, and it will take decades to resolve the consequences. \n\nTrudeau is despicable. And to think our tax dollars paid for his pathetic finger pointing video.

I’m sure her deported family will welcome her back to Mexico when her resident status is revoked. Or when her children’s citizenship is revoked because birth right citizenship will be abolished

Newsflash Mommy you're are going to. Does she think her citizenship can't be revoked? And ma'am this is not your country.

if ye really want to solve the migration issue the first step should be to repel the 14th amendment.\nAs long as US citizenship is granted based on the principle of Jus Soli rather then on the more common jus sanguinis immigration will remain an unsolverble problem
|
| 2024-11-18 | 0 |
We don't need to deport them. Just make it where any company or business found employing them is immediately shuttered and the management imprisoned. The company assets are then sold off at auction to pay fir the employees deportation. Same for housing like apartments, condos, etc.\n\nMedical care refused for all illegals except kids 16 and under. Same for schools. No high school education for illegal kids. (Kids shouldn't be punished for their parents actions)\n\nFinally, stop giving citizenship to kids born in the US unless at least one parent is a legal US citizen. \n\nRefuse to issue marriage licenses unless one is legal as well.
|
| 2024-11-18 | 0 |
We could quite easily enforce hostile environment policies. Simply ramp up the legal consequences for employers and make the e-verify model mandatory nationwide. Cut access to public services for undocumented noncitizens and reinterpreting the 14th to require at-least one parent be a citizen in order to attain birthright citizenship. Encouraging them to leave voluntarily in tandem with ramping up deportation physically (i.e. hopefully 500k - 1mil annually) is the way to go.

She as a Mexican American will get repatriated in only a matter of months when trump is in office. She’s a hangdog to the Mexican community. Say goodbye to your citizenship you geezer
|
| 2024-11-18 | 0 |
Besides distinguishing between legal amd illegal immigration, it would be good to know the numbers behind the types of undocumented immigrants. Many of these 11 million plus people actually belong here in the US, such as the Haitians and the Deeamers (which y'all neglected to mention). But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

No, being in the U.S. with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is not illegal. TPS is a lawful status granted by the U.S. government to eligible nationals of certain countries experiencing conditions such as armed conflict, natural disasters, or other extraordinary situations.\n\nWhile under TPS, you are in the U.S. lawfully and are protected from removal (deportation). You can also apply for work authorization and, in some cases, travel authorization. However, TPS is a temporary status and does not provide a direct path to permanent residency or citizenship. Once TPS expires or is terminated, you would revert to your prior immigration status unless you have adjusted your status through another immigration benefit.\n\nCheck your facts.

I was born in TX but I currently I live in the UK and I agree with Trumps immigration policies, and he needs to end birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants going forward in 2025 as well as deporting them.
|

If trumo wants to play it smart deport the criminals and those 1.3M already on the deportation list \n\nThrn hire more staff to process the claims of the remaining 11M deporting those who fail and goving citizenship to those who succed \n\nIts a weak policy but one that will shine a good light on him without rinos stopping his policy plans

So its basically sonething of an National Registrar for Citizens programme in India. \n\nContext - It all began in Northeast India, a tegion which has been neglected by the Indian government for quite a long time. The region is populated by Hindus speaking Assamese (in Assam), Bengali (in Tripura) & Meitei (in Manipur), with a large significant population of Tibeto-Burmese tribal populations following either Christianity, their own folk religions or integrated with Hindus & a minority of Bengali Muslims (mostly in Assam). This area was conquered by the British in 1820s, & with the British came a lot of non-native peoples (mostly Bengali speaking people), thereby making the noatives absolutely hate their presence. Following the Partition of India, many Bengali Hindus fleeing persecution migrated to Northeast India, fuelling further unrest. Over time, a large number of Bengali Muslims from what is now Bangladesh illegally migrated into the Northeast & integrated themselves with the local Muslim population (settled by the British), thereby changing the regional demographics based on religion. In the 1980s the increasing number of Bengali Muslims in the Northeast Indian state of Assam sparked an insurrection, which was put down after the Indian government promised to identify & deport illegal immigrants. Similar rebellions also broke out in other states of Northeast India by the tribal population against the rise in numbers of Bengali Hindus seeking shelter from religious persecution by Muslims in Bangladesh. However, very little progress was made in identifying illegal immigrants in Northeast India. After 2011 census revealed that Muslims outnumbered Hindus in Assam (but the combined Hindu-tribal populated outnumbered Muslims), talks began about setting a registrar & tribunal to speed up the process of identifying & deporting illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. This picked up pace after the Hindu nationalist BJP party came to power in the union government in 2014 & in Assam's state government in 2016. Around 2018, the Assam government started the National Register of Citizens to register the names of all people of the state provided that they can show proof of their/their parents being present in the state before 1971, inabilty to do so would cause to stand trial before a Foreigners' Tribunal to prove their citizenship or face deportation. This exercise was fraught with allegations of xenophobia, with Bengali Hindus, Gorkhas (settled by the British from Nepal to serve in the army) & Austro-Asiatic tribals (settled by the British to work as labourers in tea gardens) being branded as illegal infiltrators alongside Bengali Muslims. Those who were unable to prove their citizenship ended up rounded in detention centres, eventually to be deported out, which at that time many in Europe & USA had compared with Nazi concentration camps. \nIt would be interesting to see whether this same Nazi analogy is drawn up in case of the Trump administration doing the same as what happened in India.
