Sikhs are living with unity in abroad.. But in India, especially in Punjab a lot of discrimination to dalit Sikhs from upper class Sikhs, results is large number conversion to Chritianity.

I am from Punjab and I moved to Canada in 2020. I really appreciate that Nitin has tried putting forward all the major factors that are pushing today's youth to migrate to Foreign countries. Punjabis have not just migrated to Canada, Australia and England, there are so many people who have been going to Arab countries for their livelihood. The major push factors at this time I would say are unemployment, drugs and poor politics. Most of the people simply wants a good peaceful life for themselves being a part of India.

That's what i've been saying, we need economic reform. Whenever i've raised my concerns for the punjab's issue, i've been called anti national, terrorists by the Indians. That is one reason why sikhs here in canada have started using their identity as Punjabi over Indian. Whenever anyone asks me where I'm from, I just simply say Punjab not India.

Why don't you talk about fact that Punjab is the only state in india who doesn't have control over its water. 70% of Punjab water is given to Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. Then you guys give an argument that Haryana was with Punjab before, but the fact is when you calculate the water sharing between Punjab and Haryana, India doesn't include yamuna water. Yamuna water is only reserved for Haryana and Punjab water is forced to be shared. Narmada tribunal denied Rajasthan any water because its non riparian state. only 0.5 MAF water was given to them after taking Guj,MP and Maha Cm's consent. Where as 8.5MAF water ie 51% of punjab's water is given to Rajasthan. Every state has a right over its water and headworks except Punjab. we have no option other than using pumps. Punjab is nothing more than a food producing colony for the Indian state. Indian state has used and thrown Punjab.You seem like a reasonable man Mr Rajput I hope you take up this issue. Ive read alot about it issue I'm willing to share NASA, UN and indian govt data with you if you wish.

This same words said in last 5min of the video is said continuously by major gaurav aarya that sikhs and khalistanis are 2 different individuals funded by isi. And also in punjab 99% don't support such narrative. Some countries like pakistan uses this as a weapon as they can't win against India and spread hate among the citizens. \nSome country like US uses this to exert the pressure on India when India do some weapon deals with Russia. Great documentary, but in my opinion, it's terribly one-sided, portraying these colleges as villains and the students as poor, innocent victims. As a former international student from India myself, who had the privilege of attending a prestigious university in the UK, working there, and moving on, the workings of this situation are as clear as daylight and as old as the hills. \nIt wasn't any different back then in the UK 20 years ago, during the heady Blair days, when UK colleges significantly increased their intake of international students, aided by a lax visa regime. This was also in response to tighter visa restrictions in the US following 9/11. Students enrolling in such colleges, as well as the parents funding them, are well aware that these are degree mills. The sole aim here is to somehow navigate through college and stay long enough until permanent residency comes through. \nTears flow and protests erupt only when this unspoken but clearly understood agreement is broken, often with the media conveniently at hand. The reasons driving this insatiable urge are multifarious, but poverty and lack of opportunities in the country (in this case, India) do not really rank high on the list. Social prestige and an imagined better life in the 'West' certainly do, particularly among young people from states like Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Gujarat. \nNothing about this is illegal, and not to sound cynical, these are market forces at work. However, in my view, this represents a more accurate truth. It would be great to see Fifth Estate also report from this side

I do appreciate that but here in this podcast its about 3 main countries- Australia, UAE And Canada. \nRegarding Australia i can't comment much as i personally dont have any experience with that country but yes my cousins are there. Regarding UAE- Whatever ashr and sana said i dont agree at all because we have spend more than 15 years in UAE with very decent job. We were quiet free to do all the activities of bank, driving license and all. That country has its own charm. May be Ashr has worked in very small company where he has to go through those things but things are quiet different there. And yes it is very hot in dubai from may to August just came like punjab and delhi in India but aisa b nhi h ki bande ki jaan hi nikale. So i felt bahut jayada exaggerate kar k btaya ja raha h.\nOnly thing in UAE is that you dont get PR there.\nRegarding canada ?? it is a good country though currently less job opportunities here.

Only register in Sate Colleges, that are accredited. Don't come unless you're fluent in English. Do not attend a for profit college. Be responsible for your education; visas are not applicable to non-English speakers. Go to legitimate schools. You'll not get a job from Canada, nor employers. India is responsible for much. If you don't understand this, stay in Punjab.

The same immigrants who immigrated to Canada from India couple years ago are taking advantages of new people coming now. These private colleges are run by India nationals to make profit from recruiting people from Punjab. And India landlords taking advantages of new international India students and it is Indian (racial) employers who is taking advantage of international students to do more work!

it's all an open secret. Especially in Punjab, almost everyone knows everyone who immigrates to Canada. Life is tough for an international student, but I think almost all of them ultimately dream of receiving PR. \n\nResearch is important for everyone student which colleges, courses and fee. \nI have seen so many students, who did Engineering in India and end up career jobs in Security and labour jobs. As long as international student act as cash cow, the exploitation will continue.
