I actually really appreciate the guy at 8:02.... He was a very honest person about it. I mean, profiling is bad, but sometimes it helps. SOMETIMES someone's clothing, body language and attitude can give you a lot of information about a person. I get discriminated & profiled a lot because, I look Mexican & Americans treat me that I am Hispanic, but I am Middle Eastern & I don't cover my hair or dress like Muslim women they get shocked when I tell them I am a Muslim.. I don't get why would women wear such a dress. I know that a lot of women do it because of choice as well and a lot of them are forced to. However, if those who choose to accept the nakab are essentially indoctrinated from birth.

Racial profiling is a myth. It's unfortunate an entire race must pay the price but when the majority is committing the crime the innocent few are irrelevant. These are the facts. One comment blamed white people but a lot of these people shown making remarks to the woman collecting money were not white. I have recently filled out many government documents related to my recent unemployment. They all ask if I am native, female, new to Canada or part of a visible minority. The forms to do with education ask the same. Essentially what they are telling me is that there is lot's of help available unless I am a white male. This is discrimination under the charter of rights and freedoms. Cover that CBC!

I live in Northern Ontario, and I have never actually been to thr USA, but I know someone who moved to Milwaukee and moved back to Canada because he couldn't handle certain mentalities people had. He said it definitely wasn't everyone, but the whole gun thing freaked him out. He knew a lot of people who carried guns around regularily, and so he always felt he needed to censor himself so he didn't want to offend or make anyone angry, because of thr guns. His brother lives in California and he loves it there, but Milwaukee wasn't for him. It was an interesting conversation

There are a lot of things that we have not put into law, because they are covered by common sense. If a Muslim woman goes into a shop and makes a purchase It is reasonable for the shop keeper to want to see their face, after all a large robe can hide a lot of shop lifted goods.. We can make that law if it becomes necessary, so a person must comply with the law and not claim that their religious law is greater. Trouble with the Muslim religion is that it is a political system within a religion.. Just think of all the wrong that was done in the name of Christianity, we have learnt from that, now the Muslims have to learn the same lesson.

This would mean no more free speech (and far more dire consequences) for others not of islamic belief under sharia law. Sharia law is a set of religious political laws used in the majority of middle eastern Islamic countries and cultures. It is truly a backward and barbaric set of laws, incompatible with democracy and I encourage you to investigate that claim. \n\nSo essentially decreasing islam in any scenario will also decrease the political climate it wants to live in. And not only live in, but given to text in the Koran, effectively dominate. Religious assimilation and toleration is not part of the religion. And in the small case that it is, those religious peoples are second class citizens. \n\nSo you can see how it may sound harsh to say “get rid of islam/muslims” if you are ignorant to the fact of both their possible separation and islam’s eventual political goals. \n\nNot all muslims want sharia law or are as fundamental/radical as others, but that distinction can be hard to make for many people, when a lot of them are silent. All you see are the riots and bombings across the globe by radical islamists, with little or no condemnation by the former. I find that with each generation, the issue with racism becomes slightly less and less, which is great considering slavery was abolished only for about 100 years. I find that living in Canada as a black millenial is much better then say living in the 70s. I never faced racism the entire time i grew up here. but then again I haven't been everywhere in Canada. I think the most you'll experience here right now is indirect racism in the small towns. but you just have to show them who you really are and most will be OK. I don't think a lot of the people still have the mindset left in the 1900s. especially not in the major cities where its so diverse. but there's racism everywhere no matter what you look like. I hope everyone can look past appearance and stereotypes some day.

There is so much negativism associated with Islam and all Muslims get tarred with the same brush. They frighten us. Their dress is alien to us. ISIL and other groups do unspeakable things in the name of their religion. Their religion is too demanding. Christianity and other religions can adjust to scientific facts. We KNOW the world is round and there are other worlds, so far unpopulated, out there. Islam seems to demand adherence to its core beliefs written centuries ago and makes no concessions to emerging facts. Religion is the main influence in the life of Muslims and their Imams seem to have a lot to do with governance and education, instead of the separation of church and state to which we are used. If you come to Canada to live, then adjust to our values or leave, please. This doesn't mean that you have to stop attending a mosque but please discontinue the scary body coverings and start treating your women as equals, not chattels. Even some women will argue with that last bit, but why does a woman have to cover up and a man does not? This is NOT equality.

As an atheist exmuslim who despises orthodox islam and jihadis, I have the ability to separate the regular muslims from the crazy ones. I have always admired Canada's openness and inclusivitiy which I believe is unrivalled in the world. However the hate speech in these comments are troubling. Not all americans are KKK members and not all muslims are jihadis. One thing that blacks have gotten away from is their relationship with God! We've forgotten that with God we over came a lot of the weapons that society had forged against us. We forgot how to come together as a people and the churches were our launching points into the systematically racist and discriminatatory system that was set in place to disenfranchise blacks as a people. It was through God that the impossible became possible and the strength to endure was our faith and trust in God. Now with the freedoms that were gained blacks became a distracted people. We lost our eye on the prize and the same system that we fought against has turned blacks against one another. The black family is virtually non-existent because we have forgotten our roles to one another. No God, no family, no leaders equals complete anarchy. The black culture has been high jacked and blacks have done nothing about it. We have to get back to what worked for us in the past and doing so will stop a lot of the problems we have today.
