I have been in Canada my whole life and feel sad. I also want to move from here, but not sure where. What will I do in another country is uncertain.

I was actually thinking about moving to Canada. But the last few months and countless videos of people getting the hell out of there has put me right off. The whole Western world is in free fall and those in current power seem hell bent on bringing us all back to serfdom in a weird one world government which seems to be the way things are heading. I've been here (Canada) all of my life, and I would not want to live anywhere else on this planet. Everywhere has its pluses and minuses, and things will eventually turn around. As for you, this is great, you're young, the nature/definition of work has drastically changed since I was your age, so yes, I whole heartly agree, go out and make your mark, explore and enjoy what the world has to offer.

Try London England, you’ll find it’s 3-4 times more expensive than Toronto. The cost of food is the same as England £4.50 for strawberries ($8.00), £3.00 ($6) for milk, and £5.50 ($9) for cheese but gas £2.90/L ($4.10/Litr) way more costly in England. Europe and North America. But Canada isn’t as bad as many places. But then again, I’m not a quitter. The best way to survive is getting a good education and a stable and high in demand career. Nurse, doctor, teacher, lawyer, dentist, psychiatrist, etc etc. Then you will find you might complain a bit less ?

I lived for 8 years in Canada and then moved to Singapore three years ago. That was the best decision I ever made. I came back to Toronto this year, and was completely shocked by the cost of living, the drug problem on the street, and the huge amount of immigrants from one single country taking over the whole Canada.

Many lessons learned, dealing Canada Revenue Agency as a non-resident tax payer isn’t fun. Getting silly administration done, like renewing passport abroad, and keeping a darn Drivers License. When my parents came to canada 25yrs ago from Korea, they had to bring in millions of dollars and create at least two full time jobs. The whole process took a bit over 3 yrs. I don’t get how new comers are so easily accepted.

I went on an Office visit to Toronto back in 2013 when basement costed around 700 to 800 CAD, the student's situation wasn't that grave. One could see students, but not many. Canada is one of the best countries to live in, i have to say, people complain about inflation, increased rents etx tell me where in the world its not there? The whole world is expensive. Yes canada is more expensive unnecessary however I don’t think leaving this country can benefit!

I thought the whole population of Canada was immigrants.

But wait a minute !!! 1 million immigrants in a country as big as China and you guys are complaining. The whole population of Canada fits in 1 or 2cbig tier 1 cities in China , so their cities hv to deal with 1 million migration on a regular basis and accomodate for those changes. I know its anecdotal, but i feel like its probably the norm.\n\nI lived in Canada my whole life, i visited the states and lived there for a few months for a job.\n\nThe amount of violence, gun or otherwise, is night and day. In the U.S. you could have a gun pulled on you in a grocery strore, on the highway, in the park, at the bar...\n\nIn canada, you could walk an entire city, late at night, completely alone, and the odds of someone hurting you in anyway at all is like single digit %. In the U.S, you arent making it 2 blocks without trouble.\n\nIt is mind boggling how dangerous it feels to just be in the states then it does in Canada. Until you have experienced both, you just cant understand how wildly different just this 1 aspect is.

With so many immigrants from India that (as a whole, not every Indian) do NOT assimilate to Canada and our culture has us pretty upset. It’s making our housing crisis worse and killing our economy. Canada is not the same country I grew up in and it’s changing fast before our very eyes. We are losing our image, identity and our culture. For my argument, we get called a racist for pointing this out about the mass Indian immigration. They immediately combat us saying “look what you did to the natives” like come on… The truth is, we’d call out anyone else from any other country.

The students from South Asia especially Pakistan India are using the same loop whole to come to Canada the Canadian government is not doing anything about. It’s a mess already if they abandon the aircraft who will take the plane back to their country like the air hostess the world is a mess.

I’m immigrant from Iraq. Came in 2009 and I can say Canada has immigration problem. There’s no way you are getting these students back to India. When I came to Canada I came because I wanted to make it my second home. A country that I’m willing to actually fight for. These guys are here just to make money and send it back to India. A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. There’re people who came here to study & love to contribute their knowledge & skills to the world. Thank you.

It‘s not just Canada; the whole of Europe has been invaded with uncontrolled migration! This has caused so much instability in the economical & social aspect! It is easy to get in as a refugee into Canada or Europe without any documents but hard to get out without any documents!

In a nutshell. When the immigrants outnumber Canadians it ceases to be Canada. When more money and support is given to foreigners than Canadians that have paid taxes for their whole lives it's a travesty. Newly landed immigrants have more opportunities than my Canadian born children even though I have paid an insane amount of taxes to Canada my whole life.

I suggest one option of household of three options in Canada, 1- Paying Guest System of building in just like Bangalore to built and give students including Food and Accommodation, 2 - Expand the Canada infrastructure into village in parts of canada and give more people of staying and safely, 3- Expand the all retails and whole distribution of goods and services in online way just like Amazon to expand in Villages of canada.

Canada's system is at fault too. Too much regulations and taxes to create new residential zones, buildings and houses. You could easily approve pre-manufactured standard houses (3d printed houses, container houses, etc) that could be mounted in a few days and create whole new neighborhoods in a few months. That technology is already here for decades. That would bring the housing prices down. But of course, landlords and realters would hate that.

It is not anti-immigration, it’s anti immigration system cheaters. In some visible minority communities, from CBSA, MPs, immigration consultants,financial institutions (in Canada and abroad), private colleges and private businesses have formed a illegal human trafficking network to smuggle migrants into Canada right under Federal Government eyes. Canada as a whole and Canadian citizens have not been benefited from it. Only people and businesses who are in this network have been profiteering from it. Someone takes bribes, political donations, foreign students related businesses preying on people who want to immigrate to Canada.

Also remember that many illegal immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees simply walked from the northern states of the USA across Canada's border into Canada and Canada got stuck with them too. Having to house them and feed them etc because Canada couldn't sent them back because of some international law. These laws allowing anyone to enter someone else's country without being invited or without asking for and receiving the respective countries permission is not right. We all have borders for a reason. Too keep people and things out that we do not want and to keep things inside that we need and treasure. That's the whole point of a country having borders.

Context:\n\nAround a year or two ago driving back home with some friends after visiting Niagara Falls, we were pulled over because my car’s headlights were off. I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. I also hope that our taxes decrease because too much of it are being payed for services to aliens when some of our locals are still stuck in the streets.

Why do they think they have rights in this country? Canadians owe them nothing. Some of them lie about studying here but they are job seekers. If they do get to stay then they start bringing family here. The whole business is not good for Canada and our young people and the country at large is being adversely affected housing wise and job wise.
