Why not just exclusively adopt the skill qualification as the criteria for granting PR status like 20-30 years ago. Isnt that the minimum every 1st world countries should require?They can bring their immediate spouses and children BUT do away with allowing old parents or Grandparents. It doesnt make sense to bring someone too old to contribute to the economy. At the least, international students should not be allowed to work here. If they really came to study in Canada, thry better study and do not go to Food banks and collect free ration or work in Tim Hortons to make money. If they came to canada as students it means they hail from filthy-rich families otherwise how can they afford? If it is so, why do they have to work here? Local students are not getting jobs. Especially, PNJBS & other INDNS have become a MENCE to canadian economy.

My Indian parents came to Canada from Dubai in the early 80s and I grew up in Canada. The problem is, the Indians coming to Canada now are not the immigrants who used to come here. 20- 50 years ago, when immigrants came to Canada, they understood that they are moving to a new country with different laws, values and culture and they have to assimilate accordingly because they planned to call Canada home. To get into Canada, you had to have some level of higher education or investment means to help develop and add to the economy. But now, over the last 10-15 years, the kind of people coming in are straight out of the villages (mainly north Indians), with no education, low societal values, no care for assimilating and are even criminals who were wanted in India. By using Canada's study permit program, hundreds of thousands of Indians came here with the explicit plan to stay and never go back. To make matters worse, they feel now that they are in Canada, they can break the rules, break the laws and commit heinous crimes. If you look at the Toronto news now, it is ONLY Indians (mainly Punjabi's) committing most of the crimes from extortion to drug dealing to carjacking etc. Even the Indo Canadian community can't stand the people coming to Canada over the last few years, it is NOT a race issue! The issue is too many people from a different culture who don't assimilate!

Dont cut immigration down.....tell me how did Indian intl student makes up about more than 80% out of all international students. Why didnt the government put a cap or a stop specifically just for Indian people? Why didnt the immigration look deep before giving student visa just like a snap of a finger and see if they can support themselve for school and living expense. \n\nI am an immigrant myself but when i decided to come to canada as a student. I made sure i had enough funds to sustain myself here in canada for 2 years until i can get my work permit then a head to PR. Approximately 80 percent of the Indian students coming to Canada are actually the silt of Indian society. They are not good even in India, forget about being the creamy layer. It would do a lot of good to Canada to send them back; otherwise, they would become an invasive virus for Canadian society. Yes, stereotyping all Indians would be equally harmful. As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! As the economy worsens, we are being led (for 13 more months) by the most disliked Prine Minister is living memory. Most Canadians are completely fed up with the attitude of the federal Liberal Party, which has created the problems. Canada recently is going through hard times economically. Also, it’s the 10th largest economy now, not the 9th, it dropped. The GDP per capita is at all time low. Quality of life for even Canadian borns is at all time low. Canada has the resources, high quality education and all the ingredients but the worst part is the politics that is focusing on freebies and vote banks. Hopefully, things will change in future.

I am Canadian born citizen, unemployed, 2 and a 1/2 years. Because I didn't know that the Trudeau government in 2022 when I lost my job due to the pandemic was allowing them to import T.F.W's as executive assistance my level of experience into my industry. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get an interview withe almost 20yrs of experience and I was trying every trick in the book but a week ago I learned that they brought in over 2 years 300,000 admins at all levels from E.A's to receptionist now. So imagine my horror and shock to learn that 5 days ago. But you walk in everywhere. And it's just Indians from every part of South Asia and I am all for immigration I'm a child of an immigrant, but immigration is a science When dealing with a country like Canada, where it's designed to be many cultures like a 20 bean soup. You're supposed to try and keep it at being a 20 bean soup and within 3 years it became like a 2 bean soup. It's a science where you're replacing your dead, and then you bump it up like 10% to grow the population slowly with GDP so that you don't have so many Canadians. Unemployed and temporary foreign workers that come are employed. So everybody's contributing but the way they did the open door everybody bum rush. And over run the country. Our economy is now 60% dependent on people who aren't residents. They're temporary which means when they leave our fake economy is actually only built on 40% to 30% of Canadians. That's an economy that will crash because it's never supposed to be weighted that way, Canadians are supposed to be 60% to 70% of the economy and foreign workers are to be the rest. So we're in trouble when they finally go home, but they need to put a moratorium on PR's, Work permits, LIMA's, T.F.W's and restrict all educational institutions on how many Students they can accept so private schools don't scam students by taking their money then telling them they don't have a seat for them to attend class that is just criminal and do so untill end of 2025 and then review status again for 2026. So Canadians can have a shot at getting work and then slowly introduce them back in as needed for proper slow population growth and not just a free-for-all ability to work anywhere in the whole country. Major cities and everything like that. So people like me can finally get back to work.

No wonder, East Indians are causing a rift between Canadians & themselves mainly b/c of the vile nature of many of these people who come to Canada & abuse the social services & exploit the system especially those foreign Indian students who come to Canada to these dodgy & nefarious schools &/or diploma mills & then they stay & don’t have a proper residence permit & don’t contribute to the Canadian economy! They also are very unsanitary in that they get truck driver jobs & not only can’t drive properly b/c many have just bought their driving certificate &/or a fake driver license! Once they get a job driving truck, instead of stopping to use a bathroom, they cut a hole in the floors of the truck cabs so they can take a crap through the hole or urinate w/o stopping b/c time is money! It’s so bad that mechanics will not work on those trucks b/c the undercarriage is covered with human fezes! They are also very ignorant & know nothing about please & thank you or smile to customers! \nThey have also been accused of using beaches; such as Wasaga Beach in Ontario as a toilet!

It has been proven in many nations immigrants greatly help the economy . These people work at lower wages than most Canadians would work for. Everyone wants a better life for themselves and their families. Canada is a very large country and has room .

As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!

Get the right people for the right jobs, if you MUST bring in immigrants!\nThere are plenty of Canadian people who can do low wage jobs. Besides, low wage jobs are a good opportunity for youngsters to learn good skills while earning some money on the side to save for college. They are NOT, and I repeat, NOT for immigrants who have other skills to bring to the Canadian market.\n\nThe IT sector needs a serious overhaul. You need people to fill up roles in corporate jobs to boost production, because Canada is seriously behind in technology. Healthcare needs serious people too. There is no point in bringing promising doctors and healthcare practitioners who can improve healthcare services and the number of capable doctors here, but have them working low wage jobs instead to make ends meet. That is unfair to those people and unfair to Canadians who need good medical services in lieu of the taxes that they pay. Canadian Experience is a joke and a very cheap trick played by the incumbent government to swindle good, deserving people of their hard-earned money.\n\nEnough of bringing in refugees into Canada and destroying the economy by giving them handfuls of money paid by Canadians themselves. These Western countries including USA and Canada are more kind to illegal immigrants who cross their borders illegally from Mexico, central and South America but very harsh on Indian Students. I must admit as a non-Canadian that I was ignorant about Canada’s economy before I saw this video. I thought Canadians were well off mainly due to its natural resources. They live in a large country so they’re not overcrowded. It’s safe, democratic country with low corruption & less inequality. The Canadians I’ve met are extremely talented & intelligent. These whole Canada thing was a Scam from both sides. Canadian University needed Dollars from foreigners and the foreigners needed Canadian residency. Both sides never focused to develop any skill which can then prepare these students to participate in the development of the Canadian economy. Indeed most of them landed as low pay unskilled labours who then became liability on Canadians rather than any asset. These days you do not need a degree to develop any kind of IT skill. One get develop IT skills online free of cost or at minimal cost. Come back to your country and focus on developing any skill or if not interested in studying then do some business.

Government should have focused more on loopholes, for instance, a visitor converting his visa into work permit, contract marriages, and entering into the country, on the basis of spouse visa, no basic sense, getting permanent residence card to useless people, instead of hard working students, who are contributing tot he Canadian economy, government failed to take actions becomes of community or ethnicity politics. However, finally, they woke up today with this move.

The real problem is the middle class and small businesses in Canada. I was a PR in Canada and still couldn't get a decent job because of two major issues. First - language. I went to look for a job in so many places but couldn't get it because I couldn't speak their native language, like Polish, Arabian, or Chinese. Second - I asked someone if I could get a govt. job near my house and everybody said NO. Why because the place had a Polish guy in charge, and he is only going to hire his family or friends who are Polish. So doesn't matter if you get the best leader known to man, Canadian economy is doomed if you don't do anything about the middle class system and non-English speaking immigrants.

At the end of the day the main issue is the Government used Indian students to supplement the economy at the expense of the Canadian citizens. Now in 2024 the Trudeau liberals still refuse to pause it because of the economic impact it will have on their corporate friends and the schools. They also subsidize immigrant students which incentivises businesses to only hire Indian students. Canadians can't find affordable housing or a minimum wage job and Indians are paying the price. Okay. To begin with, being white does not automatically make one Canadian. Immigration is the foundation of Canada; it is all about which generation of immigrant you are. The one mistake Canada made was to accept an excessive number of immigrants and students during a short period of time. This allowed students to work full-time employment, defeating the purpose of student visas. Why is no one discussing asylum seekers or refugees, which has made matters worse? All amenities, housing, etc., are provided to refugees using taxpayer funds. The money paid by taxpayers is meant to be used by those who made the tax payments. \n\nAll legal immigrants pay substantial fees and continue to pay taxes while they are employed, none of which has an impact on the economy. \n\nEmployers always give preference to Canadians with the necessary abilities over immigrants, even if the latter have higher skill levels. Despite having excellent credentials and expertise, I was not selected for any interview because I am not Canadian. Thus, give up lying and acting like the victim. Concentrate on the real issue. You are the preferred candidate for any employer if you are Canadian and meet the requirements.

The Canadian economy is made up of 80% in the service sectors and only 20% in the manufacturing and natural resources sectors ! This means only that 20% is the only sector of the economy is where new revenue is generated and the country is mostly living on credit every time you buy something made elsewhere !

I am a Serbian and Canadian living in Canada for the last 24 years. I love \nthis country I respect this country but my God is so much different than it used to be or it is me. This summer I went with my kids and wife to 6 different countries in Europe Eastern Europe and Central and have seen 2 alcoholic then I come to Canada I see thousands of drug addicts on the street. everything is overpriced ppl do not enjoy in here. When I came in 2000 Serbian economy was low due to the war now it is better and Canadian economy is worse so the gap is very small. you need to make 6000$ to live just ok and I do live well but there is always but. I call it a pressure cooker, I wish all Canadian travel abroad a bit just to realize that they were lied too and that there's a lot of bs. I can give you an example: Condo in Belgrade same size property tax is 200$ per year condo in Qc Gatineau 2500$ plus condo fees 400$ per month basically 7000$ wasted for what? no dr wholes on the street broken system. It will be for sale. I agree paying taxes on my house where I live but for rental property when you deduct all the expenses you invested so much money without any profit. the one that works and the one that scams the system make the same amount of money and we live approx the same. something is wrong there. I will live for many years to come but definitely not spending my whole life here due to many circumstances and expenses. Family values are getting killed and I have issues with that. The more I was pushed to change the more I went to church and believed in old fashioned traditional values. As you said I will always be grateful for what I made but working hard for two jobs in the last 20 years I would make that somewhere else too. Canada has changed too much since I came that's for sure. What triggers me the most fake approach when ppl say I make 100k wow then you didn't get that, that is only on the pay stub. how much did you get 50k that is the real money then you need to add deductions house tax this tax, sewage, water it comes less and less and then you realize that in reality you make more but you spend so much more with less quality of life. who cares how much you make the question is how do you live with the amount that you make.?

My family came from Japan in 2007 (I had just turned 13). I have spent the second half of my life in Canada, turned 30 yesterday and got married in Vancouver last weekend the, graduated high school in Vancouver, got my PharmD degree in Nova Scotia. My family owns businesses in Vancouver and my parents are selling EVERYTHING and leaving. They abruptly dropped this news last month. My husband and I have already made our plans to leave too and already own a home in Japan, because we were returning for the last trimester of my pregnancy, but decided we are not returning to Canada. We will stay in Japan for about 5 years, then relocate, depending on western politics \n\nI am sad because Canada became my home, and my parents have added soo much to the Vancouver economy, and created numerous jobs for Canadians.
