Canada often denies visas even to retired members of Indian security services but never denies visas to veterans of Western countries which have a mile long documented record of human right abuses in foreign countries in Asia and Africa. Canada gives visas to criminals and gangsters from India, even citizenship! Canada now wants India to give visas blindly to Canadian citizens without checking their antecedents, particularly relating to issues of attack against Indian sovereignty and terror links! India is not Canada and India considers visas to foreign citizens a priviledge extended, not an unfettered right. Actions have consequences and India, unlike Canada, takes terror related issues and foreign conspiracies working against integrity and sovereignity of the country very seriously indeed. Canada does not get White Man's Priviledge in India. That boat sailed a long time ago.

Birth is not a right to citizenship. That father abandoned his wife and children. They can't be in that much danger if they don't need his protection. They're spending lots of money to try and get here for the bigger handouts. I Don't have a job and like many Americans who are unemployed have been filling out applications for months for nothing. only a few countries in the world have birth right citizenship. no country in europe for example has it. and its correct. just because you were born in a country doesnt make you a citizen. lets say my mother was travelling to Slovakia while pregnant and she gave birth to me there, does this make me a Slovak?

The only reason birthright citizenship was enacted was to deal with the issue of newly freed black slaves after the civil war, because technically they were not citizens before the civil war. It was an attempt to create a legal mechanism for these freed slaves to be made into US citizens, it was never meant to be used to be used as a loophole circumvent our immigration laws.

Our system has been abused for too long. My mom worked as a nurse's aide in a hospital for many years. This was in south Texas. I remember her telling me that Mexicans (with money) would come to have their babies here and then go back to Mexico. When the children were grown they could come and live here easily. I remember it pissed.me off. It didnt matter if they paid for the delivery. They were still cheating our system. I'm all for denying these people citizenship. We should follow Germany's example.

canada an usa are about the only first world countries that provide unrestricted birthright citizenship... Nowhere does it exist in europe or asia.. If USA removed unrestricted birthright citizenship, then only Canada remains.
