How much money does America give to Canada already. You are a dictator and need to step out of the way and let someone else who is really interested in the well being of the Canadian people and not his own interests.

Look how he uses the term “Trade War” they started propaganda to start economic war. Our nation USA is only looking for its best interest for its nation and people. We are loving the Golden Age. Canada looks ridiculous with starting a TRADE WAR… not USA ??. Canada is retaliating. Simple.

I'm embarrassed for my country, the USA. I am glad Canada has people who will fight for their interests in the face of this insane ego trip they are subjected to.

When I was growing up in Canada, hearing of someone being a “Proud American” was something I admired. Today it’s a punch line to a joke about the American education system. They have nothing left to be proud of, and I’m so thankful to be from this country instead. Trump administration or not, the American people can not be trusted to vote in their own self interest, let alone the interests of the allies that stood with them for the last century and who have lost lives sending men and women over seas to answer the American call for friendship, justice, and loyalty. America wants to stand alone so let them. The global order is shifting, and Canada needs to plan accordingly. Don’t listen to what people say, watch what they do, and Americans have done enough.

Didn't this man resign back in January due to low approval ratings? Nobody takes you seriously Sir, not even your own citizens. You did not want to secure your own border when it was in both of our best interests to do so. President Trump said we are pursuing diplomacy, not siding with Russia. As he said, if you are trying to negotiate a deal between two enemies you can't cast one out and only deal with one. You need the two sitting at the table and you have to be fair to both sides. The liberals want an endless war so they can profit from it. Most of them are heavy investors with defense contractors and that is not a coincidence. It is a conflict of interest. I disagree with how President Trump handled that meeting as those tough conversations should have happened privately. Nonetheless those conversations absolutely needed to happen. Thousands of Ukrainians and Russians dying and cutting blank cheques year after year with no end in sight is insanity. Each side is going to have to give something to end this.

Also awfully funny how y'all were perfectly ignorant when Joe Biden was increasing the tariffs against everywhere else when Donald Trump left the last time he didn't remove them he added on to them and increased them and y'all didn't say anything about it then. You'll act like this is the first time anybody's ever heard of tariffs and yet Canada already had it against us we already had it against them just like every other country. Tariffs are just a fancy government word for interest and as long as those interests are aligned and in favor for Democrats tariffs are okay but when they're not all of a sudden they're not okay again.

I have been a pro-America citizen for almost 79 years, but our administration is dead wrong. Canada is the best neighbor we could possibly have, and we have slapped them in the face. This administration loves authoritarian leaders and dismisses the interests of our long-time friends and allies. Why would we ever believe our president when he promises to make life better for us. These countries complaining about the tariffs tells me that these tariffs are going to work in America's favor or these countries wouldn't be complaining about them. Trudy has nothing to say I am interested in.

We do not need to be saved by nobody, But we need to save ourselves from our current administration not aligned with true American values. They do not have Americans best interest.

It should be interest to all Canadian businesses using rigid plastic containers (bottles, jars etc.) that ALL of the major manufacturers and distributors of these products are American owned companies operating in Canada. There are excellent Canadian operations supplying these items at better pricing in most cases.

Excellent speech! I believe that all US Tarif affected countries and regions should seek a closer economic cooperation. The world is much bigger than the US and I'm confident that there are other opportunities to be found. By the way, I watched an interview with Chrystia Freeland this morning. She had an interesting suggestion: put 100% Tarifs on Tesla cars. Excellent suggestion that caries a strong message the US government!

Harris voter here, you gotta do what you gotta do Canada. I don't know if I will make it through this but there are people out there in worse situations with more overtly oppressive governments, so I can't complain too much. Canada and Mexico are cutting down the flow of fentanyl into our country since Trump initiated tariffs. Trudeau is talking tough because he came off as weak the last time Trump scolded him. Trudeau is scheduled to meet with Trump in a few days. Why is that? Canada will meet Trump's demands on fentanyl and tariffs; and America will profit in the short and long term. Stop believing the fake news who does nothing but create fake chaos no matter what Trump does. These tariffs do not affect our country in any way over the short term. The only reason that the markets are tumbling is because the fake news wants to create panic when there is none. Same thing with Zelensky.
