Its a lose-lose situation. The immigrants dont realize that the citizens have zero incentive to help them because they will be putting their own children's future at risk. When i was 16, I could find an entry level job. Now, the kids cant even find a job because its filled with literally the lowest common denominator (3rd world immigrants mostly India) and they wont hire anyone who isnt Indian. What India doesnt realize is that the government has lied to them because we, the citizens, do not advocate for having what little work is left taken by people who are just DEI hires. As a Canadian, I only support citizen-ran business and nothing corporate.

The government should be very clear to immigrants. Canada doesn't need workers in the Professions. Canada needs janitors and donut servers willing to live with two other families in a 2 bedroom condo or we need the rich to fleece off of. Just go onto indeed leave the key word blank and set the location as Vancouver. Most jobs you'll find pay 45-50 k or demand experience so specific no immigrant and most residents can't hope to qualify. Canada has a labour shortage the same way it has a shortage of 40k Porches.

Right now is probably the worst time to come here. With global recession and post-pandemic hardship, everyone is feeling the pinch. Small businesses are closing down as they could not repay back the relief loans given by the government during the pandemic. Trudeau’s policy of immigration through the educational stream and admitting so many refugees from Syria and Ukraine have caused massive rent increase - too many people chasing after lower real estate supply. Because people are feeling the pinch, crimes are up and homelessness has become a serious issue. But, here are the (long-term) advantages of living here, vs. The Philippines:\n- free healthcare - no matter how rich you are back home, wealth can be depleted if a major illness strikes;\n- free education for your kids up to highschool and opportunity for your kids to enter worldclass universities after highschool;\n- government programs that actually work - Worker rights are upheld, doleouts when you lose your job, 12-month mat/paternity leave, doleout/govt match when you save for yr kid’s university educ, tax rebates for whatever you save for retirement, retirement income even if you never held a job, infrastructures are maintained, transparency and stability of political system; \n- safer environment - yes, greater crimes lately, but still one of the safest places to live. I live in greater Toronto, and sometimes we forget to lock our door at night or leave a bicycle outside and nothing happens;\n- commitment to the environment - the country adheres to protecting the envt. You can drink water from the faucet. Strict laws on recycling and waste disposal. Greenbelt protection on forest and conservation park areas, even in the cities. Canada also has the world’s biggest water supply...in today’s global climate change, were decades away from water wars;\n- a beautiful country with friendly, humble and relaxed people who observe work-life balance

Please stop hiring immigrants for government jobs if you can’t speak English don’t even apply

I was born and raised here. I am doing my exit plan as I cannot afford to live here as young-adult living on my own. The government knew exactly what they were doing when they allowed 9 million people to come here in a short amount of time. How can you provide billions for foreign aid but can't provide basic necessities to your own citizens? I have cut EVERYTHING extra out of my life and even while working a full-time job I cannot survive in my own country. Canada is a country for the elite, cliche style immigrants, and for the ultra wealthy who pass down intergeneration wealth. A failed health care system that provides little to no services at which you pay out of pocket to get access with private health care providers. You can't depend on transit as it is the mercy of the corrupt transportation/commissioners aka unions and the cost of gas is out of this world. I AM SO LUCKY I went to university and graduated when I did because the same degree would have cost 15k-20k more...food is super expensive...renting an apartment is seen as a form of luxury....you have to know someone to get basic things done. What a shameful society...a society that treats immigrants with upmost respect only to turn around looking the other way when it comes to homelessness...the housing crises...lack of employment oppts, gosh I can go on. My brother was lucky enough to move to Dubai and cash in on his savings by investing it into his properties where he pays 0 tax on his salary from his job.

This video is very misleading. That tailor at the beginning of the video was said to have gone to study at a university in Toronto. I am pretty sure it’s not University of Toronto or any university near Toronto from the way he was conversing with the journalist. It was most likely a private college that offered a PG Diploma. No wonder he wasn’t able to find a job. International students coming to Canada to do a PG Diploma is the biggest immigration loophole that the government recently put restrictions on.

I'm a Brit who has lived here 13 years and my advice to any Brit thinking of moving here is not to. If you can live in a nice county and you have a decent job you are better off in the UK. There is a lot of decline in urban areas here, tweaking drug addicts and tent encampments the likes the UK has NEVER seen. It's incredibly expensive to rent if you want to live anywhere remotely interesting. The infrastructure is so bad, unless you have a vehicle or lots of money to keep flying, you will feel incredibly isolated here. Brits are lucky to have such a great network of public transport and close proximity to Europe and all the cheap flights to get you around there. The work life balance is not as good as the UK. Most jobs here will start you on 2 weeks a year and only increase as your service grows. So after 5 years of service you will get 3 weeks and so on. Don't expect 5 weeks vacation until you have put 20 years in with most jobs. Canada is boring, it really is and so are most Canadians who also seem to have no idea what a sense of humour is. I have found new immigrants to be the friendliest, especially those from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Now to the wokeness of the place, oh gosh, it's so bad. The Alberta premier has just announced very sensible and much needed gender reforms which 95% of Canadians agree with. These reforms will protect young gay kids mostly. The left have completely lost their mind over this. Women here are in genuine fear of speaking out regarding their privacy and rights to single sex spaces and sports. In the UK , this is slowly improving I believe. I'm putting things in place so I can leave. I hope things improve once the liberal government are gone but it will take many years to get this country back on track.

People who come to Canada after receiving their PR struggle way too much. When you apply for a job here, they require you to have 1 year of Canadian working experience. How does someone fulfill that criteria if they've just landed in a new country? The government should instead open PR for only blue-collar jobs, which are actually in high demand. The whole immigration program otherwise feels like a scam. You shouldn't be getting any points for your educational and professional qualifications in the application when, in reality, it's not going to help you afterward. Most of the people I know here are planning a relocation because they don't see themselves owning a house anytime soon.

Canada is built on false promises to lure in immigrants to have them work for cheaper while ignoring it's own citizens. Treadeu doesn't care about his job and only uses it now to take tax payers money and fund his lavish lifestyle he's a rich egotistical douche that will only ever operate in his best interest and will lie and say what he has to for people to believe him he doesn't care about Canada or it's people only about keeping himself wealthy off tax payers dollars. If there was more of an effort on infrastructure and technology Canada could have been similarly valued to the states but treadeu ruined all major relationships and is a laughing stock globally it's very clear no world leader even respects the guy and hurts canadas trading potential massively along with how we're viewed. I was born here in canada but my mom immigrated. Took her 20 years almost to get full citizenship . \nThe cap is needed . These past 5 years has been honestly out of control . \nI've personally worked jobs where international students knew exactly how to work the system . \nEven working directly with employers to bank hours so that they can go full-time during summer yet still get paid for the whole year as part time so the government doesn't see that they pass there maximum hours worked . \nThe access to credit aswell is super scary .

I’m a born Canadian and Canada was once the envy of the world. Cost of living was decent and plenty of good paying jobs. I couldn’t imagine being an immigrant here now. Cost of living is skyrocketing and our government does nothing about it. We are taxed so high and get little in return for the high taxes. Though our healthcare system is free and We do have state of the art facilities and skilled doctors it takes forever to get treated due to high wait times and staff shortages. There are many people immigrating to Canada with high education and experience but Canada does not allow them to practice here because they were not educated here. They are forced to take lower paying jobs. Many young people are leaving because it just too expensive to live here and the political climate is not what it used to be. Growing old here is very difficult unless you have support from family or have a large enough pension account to live in a retirement community

It's all good when you're a greedy landlord collecting rent, or a crooked private college collecting thousands of dollars. These are young kids who are being exploited by our country. On the other end of the spectrum, you have single occupancy residents living in multi-million dollar mansions with no declared income. We need targeted immigration strategy isolated to each province. We need provincial and municipal governments to start building affordable public housing again as they did in decades past. Expecting private developers to build housing is ridiculous. I am a son of immigrants, i am Canadian, I have a great job but I live in Vancouver. The average house in my neighbourhood is 1.7 million dollars. I think that is criminal.

We need to slow down immigration and international students, find other ways to boost GDP other than tuitions. If we have workers shortage, we Canadians have to get out of our couch and start working maybe 2-3 full time jobs per person on average and works 100 hrs a week (the government can help by lowering income tax and payroll tax, and increase the property tax). Nothing is free, and we can't enjoy our benefit while not working enough hours (rn we are paying with our future economy)

This present government makeing great mistake to bring huge amount of international students specially from south Asian poor country Reuther then rich country. More than 25% disappeared from the institute other 35 to 40 %study on line without attending in institute start looking job to manage their expenses and tuition fee and sending money to their parents in back home. Government need to thing very carefully to stop this type loophole before bringing international students in this country. This is malticultureal country bringing from all over world as a same ratio not specific few countries. Students work permit must be stop on mater any argument or requist ,questions . [ Coming from a student ] - Nobody is to Blame beside THE GOVERNMENT! They mislead many international students to come here without even checking if the Colleges exist! They just kept giving visas to many students and when students reach here then they realize they made a big mistake especially after looking at the present bad economy and giving the tuition money to these money grabbers (GOVERNMENT AND COLLEGES). And to make it worse you have to pay 10k to the banks before coming which is now 20k and then the students pay 3 times the money compared to Canadian students, Which to pay-off, a lot of these students do all kind of jobs for so many hours a weeks just to pay the fees and their living bills. Hence, the reason for them not able to focus on their studies properly, less work for other folks and every other things which is effected. As a Student I was financially fine which was the main reason for my pretty much smooth journey here but not everyone has the same backups. I feel really bad for the students and hope this money grabbing madness stops and the immigration for at least 3- 4 years.....

How is it that we’re told we need immigration to fill the jobs vacant and to build more homes, yet we wouldn’t need anywhere near all those homes if immigration wasn’t happening and yet immigration isn’t even filling those gaps because it’s still an issue. So completely puts an error in what the government is saying

Who is saying they are International Students? Come on. They come to Canada to find a job and settle down in Canada. This is the easiest way for them to come to Canada. That’s the well known secret. Canadian government is also getting Immigrants 500,000 per year. What about the Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents who don’t have jobs? This is totally unfair. It looks like Canada is already corrupt.

We have some international students in Singapore ( where I am from) studying in places where we locals have no idea that such schools exist, but the difference when compared to Canada, is that many do not get jobs in Singapore and have to leave as the employers recognise the difference between government universities/ well recognised universities and diploma mills. Plus the immigration system is pretty tough in Singapore.

I am Chinese ethnic was born in Höng Kong but moved to Singapore in 1984. \nAt that time I could have migrated to Canada or Australia. I am an electrical engineer with a master’s degree and have worked in the States for some time before moving to Singapore. I could have settled in the States as well if I really wanted to. But having studied and worked in the States for some time, I realised it’s not my place. Culture difference, racial discrimination, political ideology to name just a few. So I moved to Singapore which had a job for me. I have no regrets. The country has a very efficient government, housing, medical, education needs are pretty well taken care of, not perfect but good compared to many developed countries. Crime rate is among the lowest. I believe If you have the talents you can try to apply for immigration here. Also Höng Kong which has a similar standard of living is also offering good opportunities to world talents to settle over there.

If you are not rich, simply don’t come to Canada. It’s not worth it unless you enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck and owning nothing.

This is pretty funny. I'm Canadian and my best friend is an economist working for the government on demographic issues full time. Just has an FYI canada has seen its highest immigration rate in the past 50 years last year. I can also see and feel all the immigrants moving in the job market. I'm not so sure why those videos keep being produced. This country is not perfect but it's better than many other places in the world. For example, canada is barely affected by climate change because we already have resilient infrastructure. When it comes to housing it's not so much that the governement does not allow for more building than the fact that it's hard to build affordable homes because the homes in canada require a lot of work due to the nature of the climate. (Has a trained carpenter and GC I know.) It's also very far from all of the world's chaos. All those emerging wars will affect Europe directly but all we get are some small economic backlashes. Anyhow, I've been living here for my whole 31 years of life and I've enjoyed the place and its peace. What I dislike is the cold and the lack of sun. Our government is in the immigration business. They know computers and robots are replacing workers but robots don't pay taxes (yet). They need to grow the population to keep the GDP up. Little off topic observation but its strange that you say you are an extreme introvert yet on video you seem super confident and outgoing. Whereas I would describe myself as the opposite, extremely social and extroverted yet too shy to film myself talking...I would stutter and be really uncomfortable.\n\nOn topic, yes we have become cold to outsiders and I think you are correct in that the climate of political correctness has essentially choked any kind of openness as we have been taught since multiculturalism was made state policy to never ask certain questions or we are racist so to er on the side of safety we just don't say anything to newcomers anymore. American expat in Germany here. The tax/salary problem is the same here. \n\nEvery cool place has been overrun with people seeking to move there. I say this as someone doing exactly that, so please don’t think this is “anti immigrant” or anything like that; my spouse is an immigrant. The same thing has happened to cities where everyone from the home country tries to move there from the “uncool” suburbs. \n\nSlowly, then suddenly all at once, the affordable housing vanishes, any government appointment is impossible to get, jobs get scarce, and taxes go up. \n\nBig respect to immigrants, newcomers, and to weary, crowded, overtaxed locals alike. There is just no way to preserve any desirable place when x-million people move there.

If people supported the freedom convoy instead of complying with government policies, Canada and major cities wouldn't be as bad. Governments exasperate these issues and citizens have the power to make sure they don't get worse, but living in bubbles don't enact change from municipal to federal levels. Rising cost of living is a trend especially when inflation is high in North America, the government should be more proactive in increasing the housing supply and creating affordable housing. Canada immigration system is skill based but the country also needs blue collar workers to fill jobs needed in the economy. I read too many articles where doctors work in factories there. The last is job growth, the government needs to invest in infrastructure and create environment for business to come to the country. Yes, US has the same problems but the salaries are higher south of the border. The average Facebook employee receives 800K compensation yearly.

Failing , that’s the right word. Canada keeps taking new immigrants ( mostly undocumented & refugees) over staying tourists. Not deporting. Lack of affordable housing/ apartments. Cost of living is too high & taxes. Minimum wage don’t match reality. Highly educated or degree holders are great & still don’t appreciate how lucky they are. No matter how successful & achieved a good job professionally when you retire, they put you back below poverty as senior. Max government pension is about $1,600 . How can you afford decently & independently to live alone. Not enough to rent a bachelor apartment. Government housing nowadays gives priorities to new / refugees / non documented immigrants than real average Canadian citizen who works hard for years. Long waiting lists for affordable housing Thank God & to myself alone , I started early & fought for my well deserved affordable housing after I retired otherwise, no way I cannot live decently as a senior like others who didn’t contribute much during their early years to the government. I have two words for you that explain much of the dissatisfaction....Justin Trudeau. Too many illegal immigrants with few job skills, little education and no English language skills have put a huge strain on Canada's healthcare system and on Canada's far too generous social welfare services. We have an idiotic Prime Minister who prioritizes virtue signalling over implementing economically sound policies. But here's a news flash. If you think Canada is an expensive place to live, why don't you go to Japan, Scandinavia or western Europe? They're welcome to you. I live in Ontario Canada. Generally; I vote Liberal. I voted Trudeau in twice.... now regretting it a little bit. He has done some good for me; but also bad.\nCanada started plummeting after COVID hit; and it has gotten worse. The main errors made by this government are with both the Liberals and Conservatives agreeing to 'grown' big corporates into HUGE monopoly corporates. TO compete with the USA. Due to this; we are now paying food prices through our ears!! Crazy. Also; there seems to be a level of corruption regarding the housing issue. No affordable housing. Not enough homes built. Only the rich can afford homes now. Government gets to tax that; and they love it! The rich class have more clout in voting for a government that aids them in making more and more money that they rob from the POOR house renters. The lower and middle class. As the Middle class in Canada is now becoming poor. The rich get much richer. This government is trying to bring in thousands of immigrants to stimulate the economy. But mostly; the immigrants have taken over all the lower Canadian jobs. We can't get them anymore. Because immigrants work cheap here; and sign onto contract deals with mega-corps that ensure they keep working for 2 years. Job entry level Canadians (are left without). There are also not nearly enough houses for immigrants to live in anyway! This government did not anticipate that we simply do not have enough homes for immigrants, nor Canadians alike!! What a fail. I arrived in Canada when I was 5 and been here for almost 50 years. I think people forget how much the original folks struggled. You hardly found an Indian store and were discriminated against. I think you made some valid points Canada is heading in the wrong direction and we need to blame the government. We don't even have affordable housing or Healthcare to support the increase in immigration. These no name colleges are making money at the expense of poor students. These students then have to work in low paying jobs. I really don't see any scope for some of these students. Think twice before coming to Canada because even I am thinking about leaving this country now...high taxes and it will only get worse!!

I would encourage Canadians to get involved more in politics and demand changes to the system. Housing is high in Canada due to lack of building permits and blue collar laborers. Canada accepted a high rate of white collar skill immigrants but lack job opportunities for them. Vancouver economy is tourism dependent while Alberta is energy base and Toronto financial base. Healthcare is available for every Canadian but salaries are low in the industry compared to US. The government should encourage companies to invest in Canada and create jobs for the economy. Since the tax rate in Canada is higher compared to the US, citizens should ask themselves if the money is going to good use and generating jobs in the economy.

Exactly what you are describing ie crime, unemployment, broken infrastructure, is the same across tge West. There are left wing governments right across the West the US, Canada, UK, EU are dystopian left wing nightmares.
