Canada is no like USA we dont have so many jobs, the ones we have should be giving to people who from here no to international students.

When I arrived in Canada in 2013, life was vastly different. The economy was strong, unemployment was low, and housing was relatively affordable—my one-bedroom apartment in Vancouver cost just $700 a month. Fast forward to today, and the same unit rents for $2,300. The value of Canadian citizenship was immense, and becoming a Canadian was something deeply cherished.\n\nHowever, the landscape has changed. Nowadays, people are obtaining Canadian passports only to leave for the USA or Australia. This shift reflects broader issues within the country. The system seems to have become overly reliant on immigration, with a focus on colleges, low wages, and real estate. These factors have contributed to the challenges we face today, including an overheated housing market and a cost of living that has spiraled out of control.\n\nOne of my main concerns is how these changes have opened the door for scammers. Fraudulent colleges, language courses, real estate schemes, and bogus immigration assistance have become rampant. It feels like the system has allowed space for people to exploit others with false promises, turning a blind eye to the very real impact on people's lives.\n\nThis situation could have been avoided if stricter measures were implemented earlier. The process for obtaining Canadian PR or citizenship shouldn’t be as easy as it is today. By tightening these controls, we could have prevented the rise of these exploitative practices and maintained the value and integrity of what it means to be Canadian.

In the USA I bought a house for 60k and another one with swimming pool for 90k. 400k houses in the USA are bigger than a mansion.

i have been in Canada since grade 6. been here almost 40 years but i am not sure where i should go. i think USA is one good option but its messy there also. not sure which country would be best but i am still well settles financially in Canada and i am still loyal to this land. i think we will be ok here if we just get rid of jagmeet and justin. they are not good leaders as they are not public servants but they divide people go for vote bank politics. many of the European countries the same kind of politicians have ruined it there also. Well it does come down to the immigration policy. This is bound to happen with any country allowing mass immigration from any country. Similar things are taking place in Uk with Muslims and USA with Latin Americans. I am sure Indians won’t like it if there is mass immigration to India from Europe or Africa or any other place. One can say North America is a product of mass immigration from UK and Europe to Native Land.

Canada, the USA... now with being able to work online, no one wants to live in these places anymore. South America, Asia is where everyone goes. And maybe even other regions.. Eastern- Europe.. etc!

Im moving out of germany, one of the main reasons are, besides taxes and language, etc that people complain about:\n\n1. Worst food in the world, if you don’t eat fast food you will starve, I need to cook my own meals every single day because there is absolutely nothing decent to eat. Only things I can eat here are schnizel and sushi. \n\n2. Unless you come from a rich white country (USA, Australia, Canada, Japan…) you are not allowed to drive unless you do the test etc again even though as a tourist you can drive. This is just a plain racist law. Uber also sucks in Germany because they over-regulated it. So you cannot get around if you don’t live INSIDE a big urban center.

I grew up in Montreal and left to go to graduate school in California. I have since moved to Las Vegas (California was a dissaster runned by Democrats who screwed up everything) and everything fell into place and I am extremely happy. I make a good living here and I can usually make a same day or next day appointment to see a doctor when I need one. I remember how bad government runned healthcare in Canada was and that it used to take months to make an appointment to see a doctor. The medical system in the USA is top notch as long as you live in a Republican dominated state. I guess that's the difference between Canada's government runned healthcare and the USA's private healthcare. Anytime the government operates a system it is a dissaster. If you're looking to move somewhere I would recommend Las Vegas.

I'm a graduate of a top German university, and I've successfully navigated all the challenges, from learning German to securing a job, getting a driver's license, finding a good home, obtaining a permanent residence permit (including nightmares of dealing with the notorious Ausländerbehörde), and more and I am truly thankful to this country. Despite all this, I don't feel welcome. While I've met many kind people along the way, there’s no guarantee that you won’t encounter nasty ones like racist landlords or neighbors or a random service provider and the likelihood of that happening aren’t low. I'm now considering a second migration to the USA because I've come to realize that in Germany, you may never truly feel like you belong, and constantly feeling like an outsider sucks.

I've only ever been to Winnipeg. I did see that the country was friendly, but it was a bit empty. We drove there, so we saw the countryside as well. It was pretty spread out. \n\nI do agree that the USA is very different depending where you are at. I grew up in rural Minnesota, and now live in Nebraska, so still pretty rural. The weirdest place in all of the US was Los Angeles. I do agree that there are clear borders between racial neighborhoods. One street was all Mexicans looking for work, and a block or two away was all Japanese in black pants/skirts and white shirts. like it was a uniform they're required to where or something. Can't speak to the situation regarding immigrants. However, NO Canadian that I know wants to emigrate.\n\nHigh taxes.....all relative. Girl, if you speak Russian, you should go live in Russia! Russia's economy is booming right now. Canada and the USA are dead. I live in Illinois, born and raised. My Russian wife currently lives in Moscow, Russia where she was born and raised along with our 24 year old daughter. I must remain here in Southern Illinois because I have a lot of rental property I must tend to, while my Russian wife is living the good life in Moscow, where life is extremely affordable and the cost of utilities and health care is extremely low, with no taxes! Western countries are dead. You are one of the lucky ones, being able to get out of Canada for good. Lots of Westerners are fleeing Western countries for a much better, more affordable, quality of life. Get out while you can!

Some reasons for coming to Germany are dumb:\n\nYou mentioned:\n\nfree health care system\ndemocracy\n\nHealth care is partially free and you receive the badest treatment you can get in Germany. Most physicians are low qualified because the good ones move abroud e.g. to Switzerland.\n\nDemocracy is a lie. In Germany you have a Party dictatorship controlled by the USA. Canada is bigger than USA with a population less than California. They have as many natural resources as Russia. They are sitting next to the biggest market where you can export even stones if you attach a story. Canadians can all live well from anyone of the following: Export wood, Fish, Oil, gas, electricity, wheat, potatoes, etc... Just one item is enough. Yet Canada manages to have so many homeless and poor people \nBut to live in Canada is like spending half your life inside a freezer.

Since my mother was German when I was born, I just recently found out that I'm also a German citizen from birth through descent through my mother. I've been living here in the US since high school when I moved from Victoria to Tucson, Arizona. I eventually got my US green card (permanent residency. I then moved to Madison, Wisconsin and became a US Citizen. At this point, I am a dual US and Canadian citizen in addition to being German citizen as well. I am applying for my confirmation of German citizenship through the German consulate in Chicago which would then allow me to obtain a German passport for access to live and work freely in EU and Schengen countries. I went to The Netherlands last January and I really feel in love with the Dutch culture and lifestyle. I am planning on spending at least a few years there as soon as I get my German passport. \nMy relatives in Canada keep telling me how lucky I am to be a US Citizen as they all say how terrible the situation has become in Canada. I am surprised since I've always considered Canada to be one of the top places to live in the world. I haven't lived in Canada for a long time and I've been doing relatively good here in the USA. India has 1.5 billion people and is heading for 1.7 billion they could emigrate 500 million and still be over crowded. USA has a cap for visas from India and people fight against it. Nothing against people from India but if you flood a country with one culture it has major impacts. I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Mexican Citizens now require a Canadian or US Visa to visit, along with an ETA.\n\nMost of the other nationals like Indians requires Canadian Visa to enter Canada. There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues.
