I have been living in canada my whole life and worked my ass off to get into a really prestigious university program. Everyone I knew is looking to leave Canada, and mind you these are all HIGHLY skilled stem grads. I am included in that as well, I love Canada, but I am also an Indian, nobody sees the difference between me(someone who has been raised here) and someone fresh from India with no lack for the culture. (unless they hear my accent) I don't think staying is worth it. Probably looking to head to the states.

These folks are risking the military getting involved and use deadly force against them. They all need to go back to their countries if they are willing to force entry themselves to the US then they need to force out their president of their country if they are going to use violence to get in across the boreder. Very valid points. Lots of great indians here... But over 100x more that are not great. I know multiple workplaces that indians are doing some outrageous unsanitary behavior that is ruining those places. The Indian culture is also ripe with blatant lies on their resumes resulting in many unqualified ppl getting jobs they shouldn't. None of this is isolated.

I am a senior and live in Vancouver, BC and my son who has dual citizenship lives in Seattle, WA. His wife and him will move back to Canada when he retires. I visit Seattle and enjoy going there. The shopping is great fun especially with all the big store headquarters being there and we can't forget Trader Joe's. I don't drink alcohol anymore, but the cost, volume and availability is crazy. He also lived in New York and lived a train ride away to the suburbs (great system) and was a lovely area to raise a family. Visited NYC and loved it. I've lived in Montreal and just love big cities. In saying all that, I think were all basically the same, however I could never permamentally live in the US. I can no longer afford the outrageous travel health insurance to travel to the USA because of my age and health issues. I have a primary doctor and four specialists that I see on a regular basis, waiting for a hip replacement and none has cost me a cent. Oh yes, I get free dental care. I wouldn't move to the states, but would sure like to visit again. Politics is a whole other subject.

Yes I was, after Trump got elected no. Disabled human rights are horrible here and as compensation for lawsuits can be capped in cases that is unlikely to change. I should state the government had to pay me $25,000 dollars for violating my rights (this cost me $35,000+ in legal fees!) so I know of what I speak. It was the same when I moved provinces. In terms of mobility my fate was better in the 4 third world countries I visited after my stroke, there are no busses in loads of places here as we can’t “afford” them. Why do disabled people struggle to get a family doctor when they move provinces? Also why did the mother of a Ukrainian disabled kid have to go back to a country that had been invaded to get help for her child that was having convulsions? She got no help here and her child was in our system by then and her husband has been paying taxes since I got him a job here 3 day a after landing. Yes there are a lot of good Canadians but this situation has become much worse and Canadians are masters at ignoring things. There is a Ukrainian flag flying from my cabin not a Canadian one. It's straight up frustration with our puppet prime minister. He's doing what the WEF & Dr scratchnsniff tells him to. Flooding a country with immigrants has increased homelessness & made getting a job impossible. Even more impossible is getting ahead financially. Can you break down the west coast cause holy moly, i feel like i live in india not Canada!!! My apt building is filling up with immigrants, all the whites are moving out as the landlord is letting our building turn into a slum, whenever i call, he is in India, he has not fixed a damn thing and as white people move out, he does not clean the apt between people, he let's them move in with other people's garbage, he did that to me and when i complained he asked for the keys back, he is also doubling the rent of the new immigrants. Once I just searched on google masters degree from foreign country, i literally got 100s of adds for months about Canadian, australian, german and US universities, So if i will take admission in those unis after paying whole saving of my family i atleast want to have rights to work in that country otherwise why would i leave my country as i still have middle class life here. And also it's the responsiblity of any unis in the world that if anyone comes to your country for than they should atleast have right to work for the same number of yr as he spent in his course so that he can earn back same amout which he paid for the tuition fees, suppose if i does my Master's from US for which i have to pay atlest 80-100k including living cost and to earn back that same amount of money in the india from best paying companies will take atleast 7-8yrs it's just about getting same amount of money back in account and to make saving of that much money will atleast take 20yrs then tell me why should some go for education in foreign countires if he doesn't get chance to earn that back, College fees are usually decided on PPP terms of the freshers job in that country that why atleast giving chance for work for the same amount of time of the total course time is a good thing otherwise just stop sending adds, just stop scamming indians, and just close your billion dollor economy which works on fees of indian student. Even many african specially nigerian they qualifies to work in india if they did any of his degree from india.

I came to Saskatchewan Canada as an international student in fall 2023. I did a care assistant program and was attracted to coming to Canada because I kept hearing that there is a labour shortage in healthcare in Canada. However I feel like everything just started going to sh*t in 2024 when I was finishing up my program ?.\n\n One of the things I'd like to highlight about the small towns is that they can be very biased in their hiring practices. Some of us as (black) students had a hard time getting jobs in healthcare in the town because jobs were given based on family and friend linkages (so mostly white or Filipino people got hired). Also there was a severe housing shortage. So even though locals (from my perception) wanted us to stay and work in healthcare (because they are short staffed), realistically there was no where to stay. Canada can't say it wants people in more rural areas and not improve housing in those areas as well. I have honestly been rather disappointed with Canada because I expected better planning from a developed country.

I believe that lack of health care in the U.S. stops many Canadians from even considering moving and working in the U.S. It may take longer to get medical care and treatment in Canada, but everyone is entitled to it. About 30 yrs ago we all paid into it, at our jobs. Not anymore. I believe employers may still be paying into it, but I think now it is just paid for with our taxes. So even people that do not work or are retired, each and every person is allowed it - if you live here.\nThere is also some Dental Care provided for some Children. Very recently,free Dental care is provided for people over 65. It is very new, so I do not know a lot about it yet. Also some drugs too are free for those over 65 too.\n\nPersonally I do not even want to visit the U.S because it seems like a very dangerous place.

There are many fraudulent agents in India, sending students to various countries. I am from Mexico city originally, I have lived 10 years in Canada but now it is India 2.0. As an immigrant I tried to learn the customs and values from Canada. Simple really, in Maslow's hierarchy of needs a person who doesn't have security in their basic needs of food, shelter, and safety can't get beyond that point up the ladder to self actualization considering other aspects of fulfillment, if you and your fellow countrymen are suffering and can't secure necessities for even basic survival like housing then seeing others come in is a threat to what little resources are available and therefore a threat to you regardless of where they are from, threats are reacted to with anger as a survival mechanism often subconsciously and is a normal human response, it's not hatred towards immigrants it's justified anger, frustration, and fear about you and your family being out on the streets and of course it's also universally unfair and unjust to those who were already part of the country and have paid into it, competition for resources in other words, I'm not Canadian but it works the same way no matter where you are

If the government really wanted to send them back, the easiest way for this to happen would be to freeze any bank account/work permit, asset after visa expires. This will automatically make a lot of the illegal immigrants leave. Also need to get rid of the rule like usa where a baby is concieved and becomes canadian by default. We don't have ICE, CBSA can't even keep track of anything, this would be the best way to reduce this stupidity the government has gotten Canadians into.

If so, how would it be determined who gets to stay or leave? Who would this law specifically affect? If it involves revoking citizenship, it could suggest intentions to target certain ethnicities, resembling a form of racial cleansing. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if anyone has more information, that would be really helpful. So far, I haven’t heard much about who might be impacted, but it seems like this law could put a lot of people at risk.

Please dont give Citizenship to the children of the people who are on visit visa or Business visa. These visas are for temporary visit and people are taking advantage of this. \n\nI have also seen Canadians coming over to USA and grabbing high-tech jobs since they are not required to get a job visa. Let's get real here, these international students do not contribute significantly at all to Canada's economy. They are a drain on food banks that locals need for survival. They are a drain on our economy because 90% of them are sending most of their paycheques back to family in India. They are taking jobs away from young Canadians trying to enter the job market while Canada's unemployment rate is high right across the country. The schools mostly are fraudulent diploma mills that are not providing any real world job skills that are useful to Canada or Canadians and 90% of Indian international students who enroll in these colleges do not even attend. They come only to work for dollars and send money back to India. Meanwhile the cost of living is extremely high due to the housing shortage caused by excessive Indian International students. It should be very clear now, Canada and Canadians want all these Indians to leave Canada and return to India as stated in the temporary resident visa. I do think it's worth pointing out that the cheap labour reduces incentives for companies to invest in increasing productivity. I think the high real estate costs might be a problem too - too much of Canada's available capital is going towards expanding housing supply and not enough on better technology - software, equipment, etc. I think part of the stagnant productivity has been due to lack of investment in technology, rather than laziness of workers. It's also worth pointing out that a lot of the workforce has been in government, which has been spending more and more money while not having much to show for it, so productivity in the government is another issue too. Bureaucracy and red tape can also be detrimental to productivity in both governments and the private sector. Maybe Canada needs more competitiveness (ex with telecommunications). Lack of training could be an other obstacle to productivity, or for example... not speaking English properly. I immigrated to Canada in 1981 because I married a Canadian I should say French Canadian girl and it was just a better place for her to continue on with her background. We relocated to Ottawa which is bilingual and made it very easy for both of us to assimilate together. I moved back to the USA in 2006 to help my sick brother and move back again to Canada in 2016. I came back for many reasons. The political Edge in the united states, the guns out of control, the increased crime rate daily, in just too many people everywhere. Now I was living in the Tampa Bay area and a lot of the people come from out of state and out of country especially in the winter to spend their cold months in the sunshine. Some things I miss in the United States comes usually down to the cost of living. Unless you get sick. And I miss living by the Gulf of Mexico. Except during hurricane season. I prefer living in Canada only because it's a slower easier paced social environment. It has nowhere near the political stress that the United States has where it can almost be violent. Actually, where it has been violent. Revisit January 6th. Out of control guns with hot-headed men mostly can force you out as well and back to Canada. Canada's social structure and environment supersedes the United States tenfold. And of course as we get older, Healthcare is a priority. I also find that Canadians have a huge appreciation of warm months. So many people are outside even when they are eating at restaurants. Because of the warmer months are so short, Canadians really take advantage of enjoying it and those months are never taken for granted. Canada is becoming little India. We shouldn't import people with cultures that are incompatible with Canadian culture. Also, we have people in Canada that can do the work.
