In addition, US automotive industries like stellantis are moving productions back to the US from Canada. Canada has been charging the US dairy products 250% in tariffs, US Bourbon and whiskey 180% for over 4 years. China has been charging Ford 200% tariff so much so that ford can no longer afford to sell their vehicles in China.....all these outrageously high tariffs were designed to protect their domestic products.... China was suposed to spend 4 billion dollars a year in US goods but they have been consistently spending only 1.9 billion each year . Trade deficit of over 2 billion dollars. What sane person would allow this to happen in a free market and call this fair trades????? I have no knowledge of this until recently.

These tariffs are not about policy differences. They appear to be personal. Trump is settling scores. Many Trump voters believe that Mexico, Canada, Russia, China, Ukraine, and even the EU interfered in the US presidential and congressional elections in 2020, 2022, and in 2024 to help the Democrats strip us Americans of our rights and lock Republicans out of power permanently. It doesn't matter if its actually true or not. It's the perception that matters most and that has the bigger consequence. MAGA and President Trump are responding to the appearance of foreign interference in our elections. That's why he's preparing the shut down the DACA program too because we believe the DACA recipients sought to influence the last 4 elections and MAGA wants to punish all of them for that.

The USA president Trump wants everything to be manufactured and sourced locally from the United States of America. He knows what happened during COVID-19 and what problems the world experienced because of a global supply chain. I'm a born Canadian and i'm BAFFLED at how you would turn around and impose tariffs on your closest ally. Canada and the US had a relationship that was built on trust co-operation and trillions of dollars and it means nothing to their current president. I used to be a fan of Trump, but the recent situation with Zelensky along with the tariffs i can see more and more that having him back in office was a huge mistake. Trump obviously doesn't care about how the tariffs affect his country and his people because he responded by threatening to raise the tariffs in retaliation to Canada's response.
